Where has everybody been? Great accomplishment.... I would be thrilled too. I am hoping to shrink a few sizes before we go too.. but then the hard part is.. what do you do with free dining? EAT! LOTS! so.. my justification is we're burning it off from all the walking right? :cool1: I feel like I've stalled... I don't have the energy today, so tired from my daughters swim meet last night, didn't get home until nearly 11 pm and then needed to get stuff ready for today. I've got to do my workout tonight, but I sure don't feel like it. I was really bad yesterday too.. went to BK for a quick meal.. at the time it was good, but now I regret it.. no wonder why I've stalled... .

I got on the scale yesterday and it said...147! I'm thrilled with the result. I think the running 20 a day has really helped. I have slacked tonight, but tomorrow back to the grind stone. 15 more lbs to go and only 10.5 weeks to do it.

Are you running 20 miles a day? Wow.
I don't think I could ever do that. I am sure you will have no problem losing 15 LBs if not more in 10 weeks. Keep up the great work.

Forgive yourself and do better today. I understand how tiring those swim meets can be. You are exhausted... so you eat anything you don't have to prepare and then you beat yourself up afterwards.
Been there, done that.
I worked my butt off yesterday and today and I lost 1/10 of a lb. Grrrr.
I'm probably building lots of heavy muscle.LOL

Thanks... I'm still beating myself up... and probably will be all weekend because it's a holiday and all that BBQs and stuff to do... OH well... I will resist the temptation .. and hopefully get back on track. (except I really hate the track part on the Wii... :lmao:) Well... hope you all have a great holiday weekend. Maybe if I could swim... I could burn off the calories like my daughter.. she eats everything.. and never gains.. and she's like.... "I'm a swimmer , mom.. duh" practice everyday. I would drown...

I hope everyone had a great fourth! I've been ignoring my diet this weekend. Back on the wagon tomorrow.

I haven't visited this thread in a few weeks...mostly because I've been doing horribly with diet and exercise and gained back about 6 of the 11 pounds I lost. :( Tomorrow I'm restarting everything-weight watchers and exercsing every day in hopes that I will lose 20 or more pounds by my birthday (9/6) and hopefully 30 or more pounds by my trip (9/26). I think my goals are pretty realistic, I just have to stick to my plan!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

I really blew my diet on vacation, I was good the first few days & then I ordered a grilled seafood platter that came with some fried food mixed in so of course I had to eat it all. I brought my Wii & fully intended to use it but never did. I did walk on the beach every morning so I wasn't totally bad. I even climbed 40 flights of stairs when the elevator in our condo stalled:scared1: we were on the 21st floor so that was quite a workout. I'm scared to get on the scale to see how much weight I've gained. I know all I can do is start over again and try to do better. I only have 2.5 months to lose 20 lbs, wish me luck.

Hang in there eveyone.:goodvibes

Welcome back to the thread... don't give up.. we can all slip up.. especially over the holidays.. and (for me.. it's soft serve ice cream from the local shop).... (with sprinkles and a sugar cone) :lmao:... BUT doesn't matter why ... at least you came back.. we're here to stick with it.. Encourage each other... I asked my daughter if she could notice a difference... she said.. "not so much" ... but then was like "Of course you can tell mom!" She just wants spending money at Disney... I know.. I just have to work harder to see the results... By Sept... I hope to lose 10 lbs... maybe one more size.. just for me.. I hope I can do it.

I am new to these boards and you have all inspired me! I just booked our trip to Disney for the week after Christmas (I know, but I teach and my options are limited. I don't do Florida in the summer.) I've been saying, "Gotta lose weight b4 we go" but haven't done anything. Now reading here, I'm inspired to start. Lost a lot of weight on WW years ago but then moved to Maine and don't have my YMCA nearby:guilty: Add and 8 year old to the mix and it's tough to get exercise in. I know I don't have a lot of time but even 2 pounds a week would be something. I'll keep you posted!

Hi all, I'm back from nine days at Saratoga Springs! Ahhh bliss. I miss it already!

I went with every good intention of working out a few times while there but didn't do it even once. But I don't feel bad about it at all. I ate and DRANK whatever I wanted and only gained 2 pounds. :cool1:

Got right back on track yesterday with a 3.5 mile run. Sorry to have to leave Disney but glad to be back on the boards.

Hope everyone is doing well!

welcome to the DIS... and to our thread. I like to complain about how slow my progress is... but I'm trying to stick with it, and do it for me.. and Disney... thinking about the photopass.. and how I don't want to be hiding behind something in every picture. I'm almost done with my 30 day challenge on the WII active... I think I have 4 more workouts remaining... I got stitches in my foot last night, so it's going to be hard to do tonight... I did it last night, but my foot was numb still, so I didn't feel it... today I will. Ouch! I haven't noticed too much change other than the exercises are getting easier, I guess my endurance is going up... ready for a lot of walking in Disney.

Hi! I'm a newbie around here, but was really glad to find this thread!! I'm trying to lose, as well, just got "back on the wagon" 2 days ago. I did really well last year before we went to Disney in December... lost about 18 lbs and really loved how I felt, my stamina and of course, I enjoyed the pictures I was in more!! ;) But, after walking for 8 days straight and enjoying all kinds of delicious foods, it became a habit (the food, not the walking... :rotfl:) and coming home to the holidays and snow really did me in. I didn't excercise much and kept enjoying all my yummy foods... and gained back some of the weight, no surprise there!!

So, here I am, 16 weeks out from our next trip, and while the trip isn't the whole reason I want to lose (I really just want to enjoy how I felt at a lighter weight) it sure is good inspiration when all else fails.

So -- I'm doing a slightly "lo-carb" jump start for the first two weeks, then just watching my diet to keep the junk out and adding the excercise back in slowly... I did something nasty to my back about a month ago, and definitely don't want to repeat it!!

My goal? To lose 20 lbs by Oct. 22.... I'm starting at 160, and hope to be 140 when we leave. I haven't been below 150 since my daughters were born, and they're 8 and almost 11, so if (okay, WHEN... :)) I break 150, that'll be a celebration all it's own!!

Thanks for all the inspiration you guys have given me as I read through the pages... you're all doing awesome, and I hope I can give good news back to you!! :goodvibes

:welcome:Blythe, good luck on your weight loss. Remember we're all in this together.

Welcome Blythe! Just remember to find something to celebrate with other than food! That's one of the hardest things for me. Before our last trip I decided to 'celebrate' by buying myself a new bathing suit instead of a hot fudge sundae! :rotfl:

Woo hoo, day 1 down! LOL. Sometimes just getting started is the hard part. I find I do better if I try to write down meals a week at a time. That way there's no impulse eating. Since I'm not going until Dec. I'm shooting for a 40 pound weight loss. COmpletely doable at a little less than 2 pounds a week. I need to get my Wii fit out. We also have Wii outdoor challenge which, although I've never done it, I 've watched my niece and son do it and boy do you move!! I also take taekwondo for a3 hours a week. You wouldn't think you'd get such a workout but I'm dripping with sweat by the time I'm done. Just wished I liked vegetables-would make this much easier. I just keep saying one day at a time. LOL, I too have visions of the Disney photo people in my head to keep me motivated. I've always hated my picture taken but being overweight doesn't help.

I agree! Once you get on a roll, it is definitly easier! We are also going in December and I'd like to lose a modest 20 pounds by then! I too have images of the Photopass photographers in my mind when I think if eating something high calorie, etc. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for everyone's honesty and humor!!!!

Speaking of Photopass photographers ....

We went to Typhoon Lagoon last week (my first time) and I was shocked to see a photopass photographer stationed right in the middle of the lazy river! Yup, there she was waist deep in water wearing the usual vest and khaki shorts as hundreds of people in bathing suits floated by on tubes! Struck me funny, just had to share. :rotfl::rotfl:

Holy moly!! That would be a pretty awesome picture, though!! I hope she's still there (or someone else... she'd be pretty soggy... :rotfl:) in October!!

As I was floating by I was thinking I'd kind of like her job! :)

In January 08 my wife who is 5'6" went from 200lbs to the 140s in August 08 for our last disney vacation. She's now in the low 130s and just ran a half marathon 2 months ago. Weight loss is hard. Mostly you gotta know what you are putting in your body at all times and find a perfect balance of cardio, weigh training and most importantly what garbage you are throwing in your body. Generally look at what you are eating, Calories, sugars, etc. Find stuff low in salt, remember just because it's salad doesn't mean that you can dump a load of dressing on it, read the bottles of salad dressing, it's not really that good for you. Ask and figure out how restaurants are cooking your food, chances are that if you order something that is cooked it oil, it's not going to be good for ya. Try to do cardio 5 days a week for 1 to 2 hours. My wife's biggest issue was eating the kids food because she didnt want it to goto waste and finding the time to get a workout in when the kids demand time with you to play. Remember to always push yourself, not just for the trip to disney but for your own health. Stay positive and try never to snack unless it's on some fruit.
