Hello my name is Anita and I have become an excercise addict :rotfl2:

I thought I would start a thread where we could share any good tips for the fight of the flab ! I have lost 52 pounds and am working hard to lose that excess skin :headache: I think the worst is my under arms, I do weights 2-3 times a week but seriously the flab just won't go away !!

Oh and don't get me started on my turkey chin, ummmm hello, it's not even close to Thanksgiving :rotfl:

Congratulations on losing the 52 pounds!

I know with your determination you will find a way for sure.

I like Pilates in general for core toning. Also under arm toning would be lots of triceps extensions with light weights. May not make that excess skin go quickly, but will definitely tone things.

Thanks !! I do alot of tricep extensions but I have never tried pilates, thanks for the tip, I will have to try that !

Hi all!

I bought a treadmill about 4 months ago and became addicted.
I'm about 5-7 pounds away from my goal. :)

I'm working on the tummy area. I do some excercises but know I need some others.

Is Pilates good for all over training?

Hello-

Yes, Pilates can tighten beyond the core. Many trainers will incorporate a ball or bands to focus arm/leg muscles even more. Here is a little fellow doing the plank, just to prove the point! :worship:

Joanne I am jealous you are so close to your goal ! I still have a little bit to go !

My DS bought me those bands, ummm I can't even do them they are just too hard, apparently he thinks I am stronger than I am because the resistance is like close to the highest :rotfl:

I plan to hit Borders today and see what kind of info I can find on Pilates !

Thanks. I'm excited knowing I'm almost there.

What are bands?

Joanne, I bought a tummy trimmer type product to wear while exercising. I did not have high hopes that it would work, but for about 8 bucks I figured I would give it a try.

Basically, it makes your tummy area sweat more. And, darn it if it doesn't work!

Mine is a Gold's Gym, but it looks a lot like this:

Thanks I just ordered it. The shipping charges were higher then the belt. :rotfl: But still a very good price overall.

And they make them in different resistances, they are supposed to be great for toning !

Hey do they make a sweat belt for hips ? :rotfl:

Confirmed exercise addict here! I am doing about 2 hours per day, 5-6 days per week. It is a part time job, I swear.

Best thing for both arms and core...BOXING! I take a boxing class 2-3x/week at my gym and it is the best workout going. Higher calorie burn than all other classes.

Other than that...I run about 20 miles/week (training for the Disney half), weight train 2x/week, and play tennis 2x/week.

I have lost all but the last 10 pounds...they just don't want to go no matter what!

I got tired just reading your workout schedule. :faint:
I think it's great that you do all that and you're so commited. :thumbsup2

Next time I feel tired during my daily 45 minute TR, I'll think about everything you do and continue on.

Congratulations on 52 pounds!! WooHoo!!!! :cheer2:

I decided at midnight on July 1 that is was "Happy New Me" time! I have about 70-80 lbs I'd like to lose (and not find again... with any other friends!!) so I am trying WW Points and I have started an exercise program.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step... but continues with the next 1000!!

I tried the Disney Half marathon in January. The DH, nephew, and niece all finished... I only made it 7 miles. Although this was great for me, I still felt so let down by myself that I didn't finish. I am 40 now... I would like to go back when I am 45 and do it... and finish it... again!!

I'm an exercise addict now too. If I don't exercise one day, I feel AWEFUL. I don't know what it is or why!

Generally, I do cardio almost every day, and on days I'm not in the cardio mood, I do toning exercises. (Like today). But now I feel BLAH- and want to do cardio when I get home tonight! REDICULOUS!

Wow 2 hours huh ? and I thought I was bad with 1 & 1/2 hours :rotfl: and I agree that it sometimes feels like a part time job, it's crazy ! especially on the days I have to add weight training with my cardio

I had never thought about boxing, hmmm maybe i'll have to see if they have any classes around here
