Losing a Tooth at Disney

My daughter is on the verge of losing her 1st tooth on the eve of our trip to DisneyWorld. Do you know if the parks do anything special, i.e. a special necklace to keep it in if you actually lose it in the park? That might be motivation for her to yank it out! Thanks!

not sure what they do for the 1st tooth,... but my daughter lost one of her teeth when we were there...My husband mentioned it to one of the CM at the hotel @ the front desk when he was checking on the weather for that day and they gave him special "wishing" coins from our resort POFQ for her...

One of our DDs lost a tooth at Disney. We told her that, at Disney, Tinker Bell takes the teeth to give to her cousin, the Tooth Fairy. Tink left money and I think a small Tink bracelet (or maybe it was a necklace).

We took our DN on the Disney cruise and she lost a tooth. Not knowing what the "tooth Fairy" usually leaves her my DH went to the gift shop and bought her 2 Webkinz 2 stuffed animals and put a $10.00 bill under her pillow. Just last week she lost another tooth and said she didn't want this tooth fairy to come she would wait until she goes back to disney in Sept. that tooth fairy is WAY BETTER!!

I new that granddaughters had loose teeth, so brought along some Mickey Mouse confetti (from ebay) , just in case. Sure enough, they both lost teeth at Disney, so the tooth fairy came during the night at BWI and sprinkled Mickey confetti on their beds and pillow while they slept, along with money under the pillow.

Not sure if they have anything special but you have an open ended book to create something yourself. Especially with a daughter who probably loves tinker bell ect... Sky is the limit, just think of something you can do yourself like people mentioned above (although 10 bux and 2 webkins sounds a bit excessive)

Just out of curiousity, why would you want her to yank it out?

DD was convinced that Tink covers the TF when at WDW. Her tooth fell out before our trip, but she saved it for Tink, lol.

Sure enough, Tink left her a beanie Minnie, a Disney Dollar, a Tink toothbrush and the whole thing was covered with glitterly pink pixie dust.

My DS lost his first tooth on the Disney Cruise. He was very upset that the tooth fairy would not find him. We wrote a note for Tinkerbell and she took the tooth to the tooth fairy. I was able to find some pixie dust in the gift shop to sprinkle under his pillow. I would buy a Tinkerbell pin at the gift shop to have on hand. If she doesn't loose it then just give her the pin to remember the vacation.

About five minutes before we were to leave the hotel room for our first visit to Disney World ever, my older daughter lost a tooth. She screamed and cried so much, I thought we were going to miss the whole day! (She's a drama queen!) We were fine, though, and the TF just brought her usual couple of quarters. I never thought to get Tink involved; she might have done better!

Not quite as much fun as the next tooth, which she lost at home when she sneezed at the breakfast table and hit me right in the face with it . . .

Thanks to the OP for posting this thread! My daughter has 5, yes 5 loose teeth!! I was shocked when the dentist told me. I guess odds are good she may loose a tooth while in the world. I had not thought about that. Thanks for all the ideas!

We did the same thing with my DD. She lost her first tooth at HS, and after convincing Chip and Dale they couldn't have it (Chip only has one tooth, and wanted two like Dale!), we told her that Tinker Bell would take her tooth to the tooth fairy. Well, she liked that idea so much, that every tooth she lost after that was picked up by Tink. Of course, she was never very happy about having to fly all the way to Oklahoma, especially those two times DD lost a tooth in the weeks following a Disney trip, but she did it because she loved DD. (We know this because she left notes on personalized stationery, along with a liberal sprinkling of pixie dust!)

My DD also lost a tooth there, while watching the parade at DHS. We went to guest services (she FINALLY had a reason to get a button!), and I asked them if there was anything special. They just suggested Disney dollars.

We just told her that Tinkerbell takes over for the Tooth Fairy at WDW, and she gives out Disney money. She bought herself a coloring book.

I imagine it depends on the child and if a CM was around to witness it.

In my daughter's case, I can just see the tears & cries of "my tooth, my tooth - I'm bleeding, I'm bleeding"!!

If a CM is around - trust me, they will hear her!

Just tell her that Tink comes at DW. My little sister lost a tooth there and my mom didn't have any money (it's normally $5.00 and some international coins -smart lady, my mom costs less than $1- that the tooth fairy picked up on her travels.)

I ran to the gift shop at Pop, told them what happened, and ended up buying her the earrings and necklace that she wanted.

When I checked out, the woman who I had spoken to earlier brought out one of those small jewerly boxes with the princess on it and said it was Tinkerbell's contribution so the tooth could get home to the real tooth fairy.

Freaking awesome. She totally made my day and you can bet that I made a point to stop at GR and rave about it.

We did almost the same thing! My daughter lost her tooth while in line to see Ariel at the park. I picked up a little Tink locket and left it with her traditional $3 and a special note from the tooth fairy. We told her the tooth fairy subcontracts with Tink while on Disney property....... She loved it!
