Loophole in FP+ to benefit young kids?

Also, the reason Disney does the RS with no check for the FP+ so is that both parents can ride with an older child if they have a baby that is too young. There would be no way of doing the rider swap and check for FP+ because the older child who gets to ride twice (once with mom, once with dad) wouldn't have a second FP+. I hope that makes sense.

I don't know how Disney would do it differently.

It makes sense and will work, but I wouldn't call it a loophole.

Your daughter is getting more attractions at the expense of your family staying together. It is not something we would choose to do, but if it works for you more power to you.

Exactly.

I'd rather experience fewer attractions with all of us together, then have to split up and decide if I would rather see my daughter's face light up with Belle or on Dumbo.

The families with children under 3 are really making out. A lot of people are reporting that they are using Rider Swap with only one FP+. For example: DH will go on and I wait with baby. He uses a FP+, gets a RS for me and then I will be able to go on without using a FP+. All I need is to show the RS pass. That doesn't seem fair, even though it really benefits us- that would be double fast passes for us.

This is how FP and RS has always worked so it isn't really anything new. I wouldn't exactly call it making out as it takes a while for both adults to go through the line. We have a 3 year old daughter. On our first trips with her, we would just each get a FP (since there are just two of us) and each ride. Then Disney started enforcing FP return times. If we pull the FP at the same time, there is no guarantee both of us can get through the line in the 1 hour time frame. The same is true with FP+ so you have to use RS to ensure you both get to ride. Believe me, I think you actually experience more attractions without the child under the height requirement because everyone can just go at the same time rather than waiting for each adult to ride. In fact, most times we don't even do the rides with height requirements. While yes, you can get more FPs (if you only get them for the rides the child can't experience), it isn't probably as great as you might think. If you have a child that is three (or older but still under the height), you are going to want to book their FP+ and an adult will have to be with them so it really won't work if you want to use those and all ride together. It was actually much better deal for with regular FP-.

I have a 12 and a 4year old who is short. She won't be able to ride anything with a height requirement. She would like to do some of the things like pooh, mermaid and peterpan. Will I have to use my allowed fast pass choices to match hers as she cannot ride alone? I am assuming that is how it works because I wouldnt think they would let me through without even though she has one. The legacy required us all to have one, but we were not limited to only 3 choices.

yes as she is older than 3 and will have a ticket... this is not a case of rider swap.. you both will need fp+ (if you don't want standby)

Yes, you or another adult will have to use your Fp+ selections to match hers.

It is not really a loop hole. You are getting exactly what Disney has said you are entitled to: 3 FP+ attractions each.

Your daughter will enjoy all 6 FP+ attractions - with one of you.

While your daughter is enjoying Dumbo, Barnstormer, and meeting Ariel, you will be waiting.....

There is nothing wrong with that, just want to make sure you understand you and your wife will both not be able to enjoy any of these attractions together with her.

Yes! Thank you for this. I was wondering the same thing. We are planning a trip with our 2 yr old and want to take her on as many rides as possible. We've been to Disney before and and don't feel the need to ride the bigger rides without her. We'll get more enjoyment by watching her have fun. So FP+ is gonna work out well for this year at least. Hopefully by next year they will figure out a better system (more FPs maybe?).

Wow! Crazy if that works. We are thinking about going in Oct with family members. It would be 7 adults, 1 child over 3, 4 under 3 years old (well one turns 3 on trip) so 8 FP+ users and plenty o babies to show for rider swap. So if each RS is good for 3 then we could conceivably split our FPs into groups...oh it sounds complicated and too much planning! I miss regular old FP.

Yeah..that's what we thought.. its only good for one ticket per group. Be safe and present each child'individually..

This loophole also worked with paper fastpass and we used it all the time. For example we once went with my 2 year old son and 5 adults. That seems like a good ratio :)-he was the first grandchild everyone was pretty excited. We would get 5 fastpasses per ride and then each one of us would take him-Bam! 5 Pooh rides in a row with each adult seeing his glowing face. Super fun trip!
