Looks our weather is gonna be not so great!

Central Floridian here.........believe me it's been very "nippy" lately here in Florida. I always suggest to friends and family if they want to see what the weather's like to check the Orlando tv stations projections. You can check www.wesh.com (NBC), www.local6.com (CBS) or www.wftv.com (ABC). Those stations were pretty accurate in September for all the huge thunderstorms, etc. that DH & I experienced during our stay at AKL. We had some 40 degree weather last week, so I dug out my heavy coat & was glad I did. The wind was cutting (especially here on the coast). Just don't count on sunshine & warm weather, Florida weather can change in a heartbeat......:rotfl:

Have a safe trip.................(I was born in Caribou,Maine - but raised in FL) - I'm actually hoping for much cooler weather for my mini vacation in a few days!:cutie:

Another Floridian here, hoping for cooler weather next week for my mini mouse trip! I will take a fleece jacket and a heavier jacket, but right now, the temps are supposed to be headed upward again (there was an 80 degree day in the five day forecast last night) so unless we get another cold front, I'm doomed to seeing Christmas lights drinking iced tea instead of hot chocolate. But so long as there's no rain, I'll be happy!

Perfect weather for me would be around 70 in the daytime, and low to mid 60's at night. :cloud9:

Ahhh even the 60's and 40's would be fine for us up here in the great white North!! We have already had snow 2X and it's stuck around both times!

I'm guessing I should be having the kids wear their warmer spring coats and make sure we take some fleece hoodies, hats and mitts along!!

18 days..... can't wait! I'm sure it's still much warmer then our -4 and -5 here in Ontario!! My kids will be the insane ones in the pool while all the Floridians have their winter coats on!!

I would suggest that you pack jeans and several light layers for tops, including a light jacket or coat.

It has been a bit nippy here at home (Tampa) and in Orlando for the last few weeks. I have been wearing a light jacket in the mornings lately and have honestly needed it. Of course it warms up nicely by lunchtime, and dips quickly when the sun goes down.

I find I like a warm jacket in the evenings for Epcot. It can get chilly when you are waiting for the show at night.

Floridian here, and I am actually HOPING for cooler weather during our trip of Dec15-21st. We can swim all year round, so swimming isn't that big of a deal to us. But I would love cooler Christmas weather, becuase that is a rarity here in Florida.

I'm ready for some warmer weather, I'm sick of this cold stuff!

To the Op- a 15 day forecast is way too early to be accurate, don't even bother looking at those.

I'm heading down the 6th myself, and I saw the accuweather forecast. It's really way to early for a good accurate prediction of the weather forecast, so I'm not stressing it. I'll check mid week next week to see what it is.

It snowed yesterday and has not melted (looks like it will be sticking around for awhile). The high here in Wisconsin is 37 today. Right now it is 26. So, a high in the 60's and low in the 40's sounds good to me. Just won't be swimming in the pool at our rental home. Anyone know if you can swim in the pool with heat in that kind of weather? My kids would love to do that! Anyhow, just pack some comfy hoodies and your fav jeans and you will be set!

You can NEVER trust Florida weather even the day before. We leave tomorrow from South Florida to Orlando and I've been checking the weather for the past 10 days now and now its saying tomorrow will be the coldest day and it'll be mid-70s the rest of the week. I'm just gonna bring layers. It's easy to put stuff on and take stuff off if you need to.

Another Maine person here. We are heading down Dec 4, and I am hoping for sunshine, blue skies and temps in the 70's! :) Temps in the 60's will feel wonderful though. I remember going into the MK early one Dec am and seeing CMs and other guests bundled up in puffy coats, hats and gloves. I was in shorts and a sweater. I ran into a number of people dressed the same, and the comment was, "Oh, you must be from the northeast too! :) Leaving Maine in the 30's and arriving at Disney World with temps in the 60's is a real positive for us!

....saying, OMG, as long as it's not 20 degrees, with wind chill, freezing ice and snow and rain, I will be :cool1:

The weather here over the last 2 weeks has been what we're used to in the middle of January. Today is like a minor hurricane outside, except with snow and ice blowing, mixed with rain. I think it might be 20 degrees? Maybe?

The good thing about these cold temps is once we experience 50 degrees, it feels tropical, and I am reaching for my sunscreen :rotfl2:

That all said? I would love 70s-80s. But everyone else in my party likes it cooler (my mom and my husband cannot stand heat, and the kids end up getting all sweaty and worked up, so the cooler temps will be perfect for them!)

Now, I know this is terribly inaccurate but just off the accuweather site:

Saturday, Dec 6th: Warmer with occasional rain:Low: 58 °F High: 79 °F
Sunday, Dec 7th: Some sun with a shower: Low: 63 °F High: 82 °F
Monday, Dec 8th: Mostly sunny: Low: 60 °F High: 81 °F
Tuesday, Dec 9th: Colder with rain: Low: 42 °F High: 65 °F

Its the colder with rain that bothers me. Especially since that is our MVMCP night :scared1:

Anything above 40 sounds like heaven to me! I am throwing a sweatshirt and jeans in for all of us, and some cheap mittens in case they get lost. No winter coats, though. We leave those behind. Hell, we don't break them out here until it gets below 0 anyway...

10 days!!!!

We are going to be there the Dec 7-14. I've been looking at the weather but I'm planning on packing for everything. Good thing we're driving this time!

I get cold easily and DH doesn't. But I'll pack his heavy coat just in case. I'm just hoping that it won't be freezing cold while we're there. I don't mind wearing a jacket or sweatshirt or even gloves. I just hope we don't have cold wind and stuff.

Is anyone else crazy enough to be considering going to Blizzard Beach over the next few days? If so, which day do you think looks best? I'm thinking Friday or Saturday.

Wow! Thanks everyone for your replies. Believe I know that 60's is better than what I am in right now, so I'm fine either way. I just want the little one to be able to swim! Which she would do even in the 40's so we're fine either way! Everyone that's going the same time, have a wonderful trip!

We were there last week, November 16-20 when the highs were in the 60's maybe into the low 70's and the pool temps at BC/BCV were warm enough for us to enjoy. However most days we and our DGC were the only ones in the pools!!

Works for us!! We have a poolside room at SoG and are staying at YC, so we'd hate for those two to go to waste!! We'll definitely swim if it's in the 60s or 70s. DS3 is a fish after learning to swim this summer.

Keep your hopes up. I am watching and watching too and the forecasts change daily. Right now it is looking very good for our 4 days. But yesterday they didn't look so good. So as I said, just plan the worst but hope for the best.

The only thing I know is that I have decided to take our winter coats. I would rather be too warm than too cold.
