Looks like I'll be out of touch for a bit

Talking Hands said:
Stay safe and be sure to take something to entertain yourself. It can get real boring.
See you when you get back.
That would be my cross stitch / embroidery, some CDs, and a few books. And the cats.

Stay safe, Tammy -- hope all goes well for you. We're battening down the hatches a little here, figuring we'll get some heavy rain and wind.

To all in the path of Hurricane Rita:

Please take care and get to someplace safe before this thing hits.

I'm just hoping we get some rain in North Texas.

Please take care and if you head north to Dallas and need anything let me know. I just talked to my brother and he said if it comes in at Galveston at a Cat 2 then he would have about 20 foot of water in his back yard. I knew he was in a low lying area but never realized how low. Be Safe and take care!!!

dang it - I was really hoping that it wouldn't come to this for ya....

Be safe.

Are you coming up north? Be careful. If this thing gets too big, I may just flee to Arkansas for the weekend.

Glad you are evacuating. Stay safe & keep the kitties calm. See ya when you get back. :goodvibes

Be careful and be safe. Evacuee centers are open in San Antonio and can accomodate quite a few people, though some still have Katrina folks. If anyone is evacuating to the San Antonio area, watch for info signs, they will tell you where to call for evac center locations.

Even so, San Antonio (and areas East where I live) may experience very heavy rain and some wind, possibly power outages. Flooding is possible in New Braunfels and Seguin, just like 1998 and 2000. Major damage, like New Orleans, is unlikely in our immediate area though, unless we get a tornado or something. Right now we are predicted to be on the softer side of the storm, assuming it goes to Galveston/Houston. If it hit Corpus Christi instead, we may get a LOT of rain.

Please, everyone, evacuate if directed to do so, don't risk it.

Tammi, take care and stay safe! I will keep you and your family in my Prayer's. :grouphug:

Stay safe! I hope your property survives the storm unscathed.

My parents are up by Conroe, but they're thinking of heading here tomorrow. Hopefully there won't be much more than rain and power outages that far north, but better safe than sorry.

Is "best wishes" appropriate to say for a situation like this?? I suppose stay safe is better. Try to keep in touch. I am sure many if us will be tracking this storm through the news/weather channels.

Karen

I feel so lame for not know this, but it has been FOREVER since I have used film.

I want to give the girls disposible cameras for our upcoming cruise. What kind of percautions should I take with airport and cruise security. Can they go thru the x-rays?

Thanks....
