Hi,
I am usually a lurker but I may be coming out now. My husband suggested he would like to renew our vows. I am not so sure right now. If we do it, I want it to be at a location that is unique, cool, not your traditonal ceremony site. If I find something that fits the bill, I will do it. Can anyone recommend a site a Disney that falls under this citeria? Or in the Orlando area? We don't have a budget right now as I want to see all that's available. :)

Welcome!

The first site to try is the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings site at: www.disneyweddings.com

That will give you information on Disney's weddings and vow renewals.

You can also check out information at the Swan/Dolphin resorts and many of the hotels in Downtown Disney.

If you google "Orlando Weddings" there are some websites that can give you more information (Leu Gardens and Cypress Gardens are two places I have heard of).

I hope that helps!

We picked Morocco it looked so cool in pictures and had never been used for a ceremony before, and we picked the Attic (above Jellyrolls at the BoardWalk) for our reception cuz it wasn't the traditional ballroom. (You can see pictures by clicking the "Pix!" link in my signature.) But there are plenty of other unique and more exotic locations at Walt Disney World, especially if you hold an event inside the parks. I've heard of events along the trails of Animal Kingdom or in various locations inside Hollywood Studios. Basically, if you can dream it and bankroll it, Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings can make it happen. :rotfl:

The site www.mouseweddings.com has pictures of most of the standard locations, but, like I say, if you have another one in mind, you can ask Disney about using it. :thumbsup2

There are so many "unadvertised" locations as well. If you have something particular in mind, check with DFTW and see if it is a possibility. I know there is one couple doing a wedding on the beach at the WP. I didn't even think that was possible, but I really wanted a beach wedding. So it never hurts to ask. Now I am plotting a beach VR down the road !

Thank you for the quick replies.
We don't travel to WDW enough for me to think up a location on my own. I think this is where we're going to get stuck.

I had never been to WDW when I picked my location (sight unseen) and worked with DFTW to get what I wanted. I didn't see my location until the day before my wedding.

Most of the Disney locations are magical, heck, just being at Disney is magical so your vow renewal (no matter where you have it) will be too!

Let us know what kind of place you're thinking of, and we can brainstorm ideas for you. Do you want it in a ride or other theme park setting? Inside or outside? Picturesque, classy, casual, exotic, familiar...? Is there a place that's particularly meaningful to you and your husband? How many people would you expect? etc., etc.. This is fun! :thumbsup2

First off, love your pics! Did Morrocco cost more than the standard WS locations?

Nope! In fact, for Wishes weddings, all locations everywhere in Disney World cost the same (right now it's $1,500), except for the Wedding Pavilion, which costs $2,500, and the Magic Kingdom ceremony location, which costs $25,000 but comes with some stuff like photography and music.

Now, in the great scheme of things, an in-park location could cost you more b/c you have to use Disney transportation and floral, but maybe you'd use those at any other location too.

Swhmc - I am lost a bit. Did "beach by WC" mean beach by the Wedding Chapel" and where are you looking? I am usually pretty good at the initials :rotfl2: but you have me totally stumped here:thumbsup2

Sorry about that ! I was trying to hurry because I had to take a family member to the doctor and lost track of time. I meant WP, as in the Wedding Pavilion.

Well, I am up for anything as long as it has a coolness factor to it.
Has anyone held a ceremony in the Animal Kingdom? Or in MGM? I know receptions can be held there but I am looking for photos/ideas of actual ceremonies.

Congratulations on your VR. When did you get married? How many guests so you want to invite? What time of year?

All of that is information that would be helpful to know to provide suggestions. DFTW is going to be the best place to go for photos and events.
