I can't wait to return to Florida, the last time I was there my children were 2 and 3...now they are 15 & 16!!!! It has been a long time since we have been on vacation. We were trying to plan the perfect vacation deciding where to go where everyone would enjoy themselves..Teenagers are so hard to please! So, I decided we would return to Florida!!! I can't wait!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on the places teenagers would enjoy the most? My children said they don't want to go to MK..its for little kids!!! I figured Universal and MGM would be good for them, and we are going to drive to Clearwater beach one day, but I am not sure what else they would enjoy. Any help would be great!

well I can't say anythign about Universal not being there ourselves, but MK just for kids...oh heavens no...it's worth it. They will be glad they did.

I'm childfree so what do I know?

I can only go by what it was like for me when I was 15/16. At that age I pretty much could help with the planning. I recommend you let them give some input. Get as many brochures as you can (AAA, travel books, etc.) and let them help you plan. You shouldn't have to do all the work by yourself!

It's just my DH and myself and Disney is definitely not only for kids! Even MK can be fun for all age groups. Although Epcot is my all time favorite.

We've traveled all over Florida and keep on coming back after a few years.

My two teenage girls and I have been to Disneyworld three times and probably spend more time at Magic Kingdom than and of the others. Then again, we're not big on "thrill rides" and still enjoy Dumbo and Peter Pan! By the way, Tina, my maiden name was Gunn (not a common name here in Nova Scotia).

My sister told me to just get the 5 day bonus pass for the 2 day price and just do Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. That is her familys favorite because they like the thrill rides.

But we will be doing the 2 day Universal / Islands of Adventure and 3 day disney. One Magic Kingdom Day, One Epcot Day and one MGM disney studios/ Animal kingdom day. Our last day will be a waterpark using a plus.

The Us/IOA ticket was ~90. The Disney 3 day ParkHopper with 1 plus was~ 169. If we have time on our last afternoon the guys might do Disneyquest for a couple hours. But I'm not spending anytime in an arcade.

Our friends going the same week are doing Disney and SeaWorld including SeaWorlds Discovery Cove.

Too much to do in Orlando! No time for the dinner shows or Pleasure Island or Citywalk or the Orchid Garden or every waterpark.

My almost 14 year old DS and I always have a great time at the Magic Kingdom. It is for everyone, not just little kids.

Definitely do Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. They are all a lot of fun.

We also enjoy Buzz Lightyear as each one of us tries to get the most points.

There is a lot to do and a lot to see. I agree that the Studios with TOT (our favorite) and RnR are more for "bigger" kids. Don't forget Epcot with Test Track and Mission: Space. Also Animal Kingdon with Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl.

Do all the parks and just go with it. They will enjoy themselves, as you will.

There is plenty for everyone and all ages.

Have a great time!!!!!

My hubby was born and raised in England, when he first came here he was 27 and the first place he wanted to go when we went to FL was MK! He was/is like a big Kid in Heaven skipping around! How long are you staying? If you are staying like 7-10 days I would do MK, Epcot, MGM (I LOVE MGM), Seaworld or Bush Gardens and probably US/IOA also I bet they would LOVE Disney Quest, I have never been but I hear its very popualr espeically with that age group! Also take them over to Old Town, there are some pretty neat things for them to do there, if they want a THRILL send them on SKY COASTER!

GL and have a blastttttt!

I am sure they'll love the Magic Kingdom; I think it has the best mix of rides! Always enjoyed it as a teenager and am looking forward to it most for my summer trip.

I would also recommend a guidebook - it will help you make up your mind where to go and give you loads of planning advice. There are many out there, but the Unofficial Guide by Bob Sehlinger wins hands down for me and many on this board.

Enjoy your vacation - I am sure it will be great :D

Yes, allow two days at least for the 2 Universal parks. Are you staying onsite at Unviersal? The FOTL perk is wonderful for onsite guests.

As to the WDW parks, since your kids haven't been in so long I would go to all the parks. They can soak up the magic even if they don't want to go on all the rides. Personally, I love all the parks (including Universal) since they are all so different and there are many things to appeal to a variety of people and ages.

Have fun and go with the flow. Remember to allow some pool time.

My daughter is 15 and wouldn't think of missing MK! She loves riding the mountains and dining in the castle.

With that said, her favorite park is Epcot. She likes visiting the countries and shopping (of course). Also, when she's there she gets a little adventurous and actually tries different food from the countries. In future world, she enjoys test track and Maelstrom.

Thanks to everyone for giving me some suggestions! I think I am going to add MK to my list of places, because that is what I want to do!! I love it there and my daughter actually said she wanted to go, If the hubby and my son don't want to go they can go somewhere else for the day. I am going to have a good time no matter where I am!!!!

Well we just got back with the 3 ds 16,14 and 12 and I had to make everyone happy. That sure was not easy. We did every disney park and the 2 waterparks. By far the kids favorites were renting mouse boats, you now have to be 16 and a liscenced driver, the water parks, they love the wave pool at typhoon lagoon, ds 16 loved espn club on the boardwalk, they went to disney quest twice. They like epcot and mgm the most. DS 14 was revolting at going to the MK. but he did, but was not too happy. They asked for the fishing trip, but its $200 plus we skipped it this time, they did mini golf at fantasia with my dh. I had to wait for the towncar then. DS 12 said the waterparks were his favorite too.
