We have an open, no park day. Planning to enjoy our resort (Fort Wilderness) that day, but wondering what to do for dinner. Considered Trail's End, which we still may do, but we don't love buffets. Any other suggestions? We could go anywhere, including Disney Springs. Preferably somewhere fun that would entertain small children to some extent.

(we are a large group so ADRs may be limited)

We enjoy O'hana and Boma on our non-park days. Love both the food and atmosphere. You can walk around, there's lots to see in both places and you can watch the fireworks from the beach at Poly if you are there in the evening.

In your resort area, I would consider HDDR if it's in the budget, WCC at WL or O'hana at Poly. All have an entertainment element. If you are interested in a character meal, consider 1900 Park Fare. Chef Mickey's is also just a boat ride away at CR, but I don't like the food there, so it's hard to recommend!

Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food is EXCELLENT; and your kids could be entertained by the animals right outside the windows of the restaurant. After dinner, you could walk around the resort and see more animals. Plus Sanaa is one of the easier restaurants to get an ADR at or walk up.

In my experience, 'Ohana handles big groups well. We had 20ish for dinner several years ago and that is the part of the trip everyone still talks about. You could take the boat to MK and then take another boat or the monorail over to Ft Wilderness.

I agree with a PP that HDDR would be a great option, too. And so convenient!

Teppan Edo is fun and good food, but a hassle to get to. I'd probably go somewhere in Disney Springs. Splitsville might be fun, and Raglan Road is a decent option, though our party found the food disappointing this last trip.

O’hanas is incredible but you may struggle for a reservation if you’re a particularly big group.
Perhaps a dinner show such as hoop de doo or spirit of aloha would be good options to keep the kids entertained with pretty good food too

Raglan Road is a good option too.

Mom,

I second the Raglan Road option at Disney Springs.

They have Irish dancers and folk music in the main dining room area and usually a band outside in the evening hours to entertain you while you wait. The dancers are both male and female and very talented.

You can get a reservation through Disney's ADR's or the www.opentable.com webbie (no cancellation fee and their capacity is not tied to Disney - I got a table through opentable when Disney said none available).

It's a nice cultural experience. I choose it often. Small children will be entertained by the dancing and the music. RR basically goes all night with a few breaks within the hour to eat and focus on the food before you look up for the next show.

Bama Ed

PS - or there is always the T-rex and Rainforest Cafe's ( :crazy2: IMHO )

PPS - if you do RR, make sure to ask for a table in the main dining room area when you check in so you can see the dancers and the musicians from your table. My first time there I was in a room off to the side and up against the side wall that provided no view. It sounded great (what I heard) and looked better (what I saw when I got up and walked over to look) so it's worth the extra 10-15 minute wait to get a table in the main area IMO.

We always do Raglan Road on our non-park day. My daughter has loved it since she was little and it is now one of the few places that is a must for her. It can be very loud though if that is a problem for anyone in the party. We find it very difficult to carry on a conversation, but we always enjoy the music and dancers. My daughter always liked the food choices from the kids menu too.

I think this is what we may do!

Are there dancers all day? We eat early.
