My sister and I are thinking of sending our little guys (ages 7 and 5 at time of travel) on the Treasure hunt cruise when we go in April. But we're a bit leary of sending our kids off on their own without us, especially on a bot, as neither can swim. Any feedback, good or bad, about these cruises would be appreciated.

Has anyone ever had a bad experience, or even just something that didn't "feel right"? What are the cast members like? Are they immature kids who would be less responsible?

Or did everything go perfectly with no problems?

thanks for any input you may have!!!

My DS had a great time in November on his Pirate Cruise pirate: He is 5. They wore life jackets with a skull & crossbones, pirate ears and had a little snack. He said he would like to do it again.

I had the same mixed feelings when I signed my ds up for the cruise when he was 5. And I was sending him by himself. The kids put life vests on before they are allowed on the boat. I believe there were 10 kids and 4 cast members. He was on the cruise that left from the Grand Floridian. He loved it. We had breakfast then walked around the resort. When they pulled up all the kids were singing. I would have no problems with sending a little one again.

I am sending my DD on this April 24th. What day are you looking at sending your two?

I think she will have a great time, what a magical adventure for little kids!

I would like info as well. Cost? How far in advance can you book? Do I call 1 407 w disney for reservations? DS6 would probably like it in May

I made reservations for it while making my ADR's. It is $30 a child and a lunch is served (PB&J and such) and is done at the Grand Floridian (Mommy is getting a massage while DD is sailing). It starts at 9:30 a.m. and you are to arrive 30 minutes early and wear tennis shoes.

You make reservations 90 days out through the ADR line. They go out of the 3 resorts - POR, GF, and I think BC. It cost $30 and they are gone 9:30-11:30 (lunch provided). We are signed up for the POR one on Easter Sunday. I thought the parks would be crazy busy so it might be fun for a cool pirate adventure. My kids are 4,5,6. Search DIS website for childrens pirate cruise. You can also search DIS for previous posts - this topic has been discussed alot this year and some sites have pictures (they got my kids excited).

So what have the adults done during this time?? We was thinking of checking out the hotels, what all hotels does the monorail take you to?

My son, nephew and friend went on the pirate cruise out of GF. All of the Dads took the kids to the cruise and then had some guy time and rented Sea Raycers while the kids were on the cruise. Here is a pic of the kids just before getting on the boat. All of the kids loved it and said that they would do it again. Their ages was 4, 7, and 10.

After getting so early all week we are hitting the pool and relaxing (most likly will fall asleep). The kids are taking the cruise out of the resort we are staying at so that is very convienent.
