Hi Everyone,
We are in VA right now, it's snowy, but not bad. We are hoping for some good luck weather wise as we had a late start and are about 10 hours from home still. DH has to be to work tomorrow and I am scheduled to work at the school's Santa's secret shop tomorrow so we need to get home tonight. Our trip was amazing. I hate to be heading home but coming home to so much activity makes it a bit easier. I have gotten very spoiled having Mousekeeping, not to mention all the eating out. I don't mind the cooking but it was soooo nice to not have to do any dishes. The most I did was washing out our refilable mugs at night. Even the day I was going to do laundry my DH said he'd do it while the girls went shopping so I was truly on vacation and that felt great. But now, back to reality. Oh, yeah, we just crossed into WV, another state down!
So, some highlights of this trip to share...
We had a couple small "magical moments" though not officially. They both happened on Thanksgiving at the BBB. I took my younger two girls to the first appointments of the day. We got there early and the doors were all locked. It was a bit chilly that morning and they werre dressed as Aurora and Jasmine and were shivering. We saw a guy walking by and asked home when they would open for the 9am time slot, he clled and were told at 10 till. He suggested we wait at McDonald's but the girls wanted to be first in line so they huddled in grandma's sweatshirt and waited. We were the first ones in and got started right away. Our FGMIT were great, we had Gloria and Kellie. When we were finishing up my yongest was picked to open the WoD store for the day. She got to pull open the ropes and announce it as open for buisiness. They gave her a photo of her favorite princess, ariel, a card game, a certificate and an honorary citizen button. After the lady said she had not realized she had a sister and got my DD9 a photo of Belle and the Beast and the card game. She didn't have to, but it was nice of her. After we left BBB the girls were looking around the shop and that guy from the morning came over and asked if we had enjoyed ourselves and I said yes, they had a grat time and I was so glad that in the end I went ahead and scheduled it. (It was an expense I had debated for months, but went ahead on the "you only live once" train of thought.)He said he was glad we had a good time and hoped my dd enjoyed opening the store and asked if there was anythin g he could do to make our day more magical. I said no, we were having an amazin trip, everything was perfect. He then asked if he could help me find anything. I said yes, as I was looking for these hair clips for the girls. Earlier on our trip they had used their own money to buy neclaces and earrings. They are the same design as the hairclips they put on the back of the girls heads who get the princess bun style at BBB. It is the hiddden Micky shape in colored rhinestones. They wanted them, but as dancers, a bun like they have done often was not appealing. So, I had asked in BBB if I could buy them and was told they used to sell them out in the Princess room and to check. The person I asked had not seen them for sale in some time, but wasn't sure if anywhere else would have them. So, when this guy asked, I asked if he knew. He went off to find out and came back and said he was sorry, but they had been discontinued and the ones at the BBB were not for sale and when they were gone that was it. I said no problem, it was just a thought since they had bought the other thing. He said he didn't want me to leave being disapointed. I said I wasn't, I have always said the time you have there is directly affected by your attitude. If you go with a bad attitude you will have a bad time. I go expecting to hve a great time and always do. Not getting a hair clip is not going to ruin anything for me. He agreeed, and wished us a Happy Thanksgiving and said goodbye. A few minutes later he was back again. He asked if I knew about magical moments, I said yes. He said this was not an official one, but that he wanted to make sure our trip was the best and most magical that it could be so he had gone to BBB and got 2 of the clips for my girls. He said he really didn't want to have us leave at all unhappy. I again said I wasn't and while I was so happy to have the clips, I had hoped he didn't think I was complaining at all (I didn't know how he could have thought that bsed on what I had said, but I wanted to be sure.) He said no, in fact he wanted to do this because I had not complained and was suprisingly understanding. Oh, and the clips, he said, were "On the Mouse", no charge. That was really great. They had spent over $35 each of their own money on those sets, so it was nice to make the set complete and even nicer to get it in the way we did.
Well, that's it for now. DD6 is in need of a potty break so I am off for now. Chat with you later....
