CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was in the low 40's when Ally went to the bus this morning!!!! Only in the 50's now. I hate winter down here - it's so damp. Even on a bright sunny day like today, it feels about 10-15 degrees colder because of the humidity.

Tammie - I forgot to mention the kids too - they look very sweet - fun pictures! And I, um, ahem, cough, sputter, kinda like your sign! thanks!

Since we're closed the day after Thanksgiving, and we can now go to Jeff's parents house for the weekend, I guess that means we don't have to drive up before then. So I'm thinking..... Disney on Saturday??? I need to find out which park to visit for low crowds, but that might be a good day to go. It'll definitely be time to layer clothes though. And with Jeff going, we can stay later and he can drive home in the dark.

OK, didn't mean to rub it in. Honestly! I am jealous, but I still love ya!

Renee - I hate that everyone, including the car, is sick!!! Have fun at your party tonight!!! Hey, I love me some Target, so don't knock it!

Laura - let em go at it! I think kids learn to deal with life's later problems by working it out early on.

Gotta run!

Thanks, and any excuse to go to Disney, right?

Tammie....YES those kids are cute! The butterfly is so cutie patootie I want to squeeze her!
I am guilty too of reading and then forgetting everything I want to comment on.. AGAIN don't forget I expect you guys to hear me when I talk to you in my head.

Also, I swear that you guys are going to be so annoyed if I get a good text message service (which I am still working on). Because then I will be able to post to you when I am OUT!

Laura...when you talk it sounds like your house and my house are parallel universes......

Thanks! Lindsay found that outfit at Gymboree. I KWYM about talking to us - sometimes I can't remember if I already posted, or I just thought about it!

I've been skimming - sorry I missed commenting but I saw them before! They are both just cute as they can be! Love that little butterfly - just too stinkin cute!

Now, I'll never live this down, so I don't know why I'm baiting people (uh... humm... Kara) but I read it and was like...
:confused3 Man, they must really hate that Alabama team to carve that into a pumpkin!

Tammie - Sorry - Mia has the same COLD VIRUS that lead to the pnemonia. Not the pnemonia or the asthma thing - Nicolas doesn't blow his nose still - which is how he got the pnemonia. Drained into his lungs. Mia's got the yucky sounding cough settling in. I'm keeping him home tomorrow and it is their halloween party. His teacher called, I just explained I thought it would be better to keep him in this week. Tomorrow should be near 30 - and they spend a good bit of time outside.

Off to put on my attire - hey at least I'm using my Liz Clayborn coat from when I use to work

ALA-BAMA - :lmao: I misunderstood your post - I thought you got some kind of bad medical advice - I have your back! I'm glad Nicolas is doing better - hope Mia is right behind him. As for you - rest and Echinachea (?)

Did someone say eye candy.................................

normal_kiu.jpg

Sorry, I just think they are A-dorable!!!!

trick or TREAT!

Kara !!! We do that too- including the singing - drives the kids up the wall!Just goes to show it doesn't matter where you live.

But Cammie - I want to live where you live!

Going to London this weekend (by coach) - of course the underground rail line near the hotel is down this weekend replaced by a bus! The temperature is falling - and we may have snow!!! Why always when we go away?? I'm sure it will turn out ok. We are going on the London eye for a kids Halloween special ...... spooooooooky...... Then the zoo (freezing probably!!) on Sunday, followed by the museums and IMAX on Monday - kids then go back to school on Wednesday till the 19th Dec.

Loved the Halloween costume pictures - we really don't get into it over here the way you do.... They certainly wouldn't have parties at school for children!! It is still seen as a bit "evil" I suppose over here.... witchcraft, ghouls, undead, superstition - the "church" hate it - to me it's a bit of fun...
Tessa

Have fun Tessa! :thumbsup2 I have gone back and forth for years over whether to acknowledge "the devils day" or not. I came to the conclusion that if evil isn't our reason, then it's just like any other day, and the kids can dress up and have candy!

Hey all still here. Home with a stiff neck and there wasn't even any drinking or sex involved!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

tammie -- i too loved the photos, of course the man candy got me distracted.

It was a little distracting! :rolleyes1

We are pathetic!!!!
Hey...are you part of these snow storms? I would be dying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After today it is going to warm up a little here so that's good. I think they are saying 60's for Halloween which would be great.

I have self diagnosed myself with "seasonal anxiety". I think I made it up. I am starting to pinpoint why and what gets it going It's started alright too. I also think it's funny how your Mom can contribute to this even in you are estranged, annoyed or best friends with your Mom like I am. Also, you guys have known me long enough to know how I get all bent out of shape regarding Thanksgiving and Christmas so that's nothing new here and for some reason I STILL haven't found a way to get rid of that! And lastly throw my monthly friend into the mix with some extra cold weather and there you have it......me in coo coo mode. Oh well......thanks for being here to listen to me through it. I figure by 2009 now I will be coming back down to normal!

I listened to the HSM 3 CD and I love it. I had a VERY realistic dream about Zac last night too:love: . I am pathetic. I have a theory on that too. When I was a teenager I had very romantic, cheesy, fairytale ideas about life but my life wasn't like that. I think I am reliving my teen years through HSM (not Elizabeth). That's how I wanted my teen years to be! Are anyone's teen years really like that though???? I fear the days my kids are teenagers.......really I do!

Have a good one girls!!!!!!

And Kara....yes we do the same songs here!
Sorry you are cold too! Yikes! BUT exciting you are heading to WDW! I wish I was!

Debbie, You have a real diagnosis  But we all have something, so you're not any more broken than the rest of us! I hope you can get through the next few months and enjoy your family! Your time with your kids will go by so fast!

I had the cheesy fairy tales, too! When I saw GREASE, I wished I had grown up in the 50's!

We had 70 and sunny here today - we played outside for 3 hours this afternoon - we have one more warm day, and then Friday it will be freezing rain and snow on Sat. That is always the start of our Winter.

I will try to hold off in getting the HSM3 cd because I want Santa to give that to the girls. We have a 'pack' in my house that nothing is purchased between Halloween and Christmas because it gives Santa something to buy. I know it's not Halloween yet and I can buy it, but I want to have things in their stockings and that would be a great buy for it.

I'm sitting here laughing because this Halloween we are ending a tradition that has been in place for 3 years....we are not using my mil's golf cart to drive around the neighborhood and trick or trick. I know it's sad. We're going to have to walk - for miles - in the cold.

Funny when I was a kid we walked until our pillowcases were so heavy and full to the top that we could barely carry them. Then we'd eat as much candy as we could all the way back home that by the time we got home they weren't heavy anymore. We (meaning me and a few gfs) walked ALONE, up and down neighborhoods for hours in the dark, without flashlights. Nowadays you wouldn't even think about letting your kids do that. Oh and we had to MAKE our costumes every year - there was no store bought nothing! I can honestly say I TorT up into college with some friends, but we always made our costumes. I think that is why I always try to make the girls' costumes.

How did you use to do Halloween?

We did the pillowcase run, too! My young uncle took us all over Seattle until we couldn't lift the case anymore - we didn't eat any until our parents went through it though. There was tampering way back in the 60's out here.

Good Morning Girls.

It is a windy cold day here. 40 degrees and I have a ton of errands to run.
I am going to clean the car out before it gets any colder out and I wont get a chance.

You girls and your HSM3 I don't have anyone interested to see it so I hear it from you if it wasn't for you guys I don't think I would even know what that is.

Renee- I hope the monkeys are feeling a little bit better and you too. You must be so drained.

Kara- $40 for the weekend of relaxation would be well worth it! He'll realize it when he has to make his own dinner

Cammie- Those are beautiful pictures of your street we are almost without leaves here. I can't believe you can smell the snow in the air

Tina- How did the sewing projects come out?

Tammie- I did finally place that order for baby bath, took me long enough. I've only been saying it for a month now. It should arrive today or tomorrow.

Love the pum pum pics we haven't gotten to that yet. Also I have to make it to costco to buy candy for Halloween!

Thanks for the order! I won't be going to HSM3 either - maybe I can rent it and watch it some weekend with Lindsay.

Tina - that sounds like my old Halloweens. We lived on a busy street though so usually a couple of the dads would take a whole bunch of us kids trick or treating. They'd walk around and pull a wagon with a cooler of beer! Yes, our costumes were always home made, too. I remember going a couple of years as a gypsy cause I was able to raid my mom's jewelry box for that and I loved it! And she put lots of makeup on me, too.

This year we're driving our golf cart with a cooler in the back! Our neighbors are gonna go with us so it should be fun. We'll just cruise around the neighborhood. I'm debating if we should decorate the golf cart, too!

Halloween golf cart and cooler of beer! :rotfl: We'll need "hot toddies" around here.

Karajeboo - my kids have that 'dress as a literary person' thing at school and I have no idea who they should dress up as. They want to wear their costumes - Belle and Giselle, but I'm trying to make them understand that's not really a literary person. Oh and hello they tell us this on Monday with a phone call last night - mom and dad whip up those costumes for Friday. Give me a break!!! How about a few more weeks of a notice people!!

All I could think of was Shakespeare:confused3

Guess what county "neighbor" called me this morning? Hum? Ashley Judd - well it was a recording to encorage voting for a certain party - Still funny. Carlos would have died- he has the hots for her.

Cammie - those pictures are amazing! We aren't turning too much here yet - but it should be coming. We're in a rolling hill area, so it is quite pretty when it does.

I would love to see London - and that you get to do it over the weekend... well....

If you were seven months preg in that pic, girl - you really would never know! THat is amazing. I just needed the words "GOOD YEAR" down my side at 7 months!

Kiddo update - Nicolas - back to normal. Could have went to school but the car is in the shop, so no school party for him.

MIa - she is sickER, crabby, and just pretty yuck. Nasty sounding cough. Poor baby.

The party went well last night. I had red wine (1/2 glass), 1 glass of bubbly, and 2 martinis. Got a headache today. The limo was cool, but I definately should have done something like that when I was younger. I was like... ehh- . Dinner was nice and it was nice to get out with the girls for a night!

hope everyone else is doing well!

Glad the party went well - how do you know? :rotfl2:

:lmao: to your "vomit" smiley!

Seriously, though - I started to have a hard time. It didn't make me sick; I just starting feeling a little too "closed" in. I had to do some quiet breathing exercises for a little while!

That London eye looks amazing! I remember seeing it for New Years 2000 and I was wondering who would ride that monstrosity - now I know - the fearless Camster! :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing!

Your pics are beautiful - so glad you shared them with us!

Also, Lauren is getting so beautiful! princess: I say lock her up until she's 21!

Here are the pix from our movie field trip!

Now you've got your kids doing it! :scared:

CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe what I'm seeing!

/
Aaaaah - nice way to start the day, isn't it?:cloud9:

Can't believe they deleted the shower scene; probably afraid they would lose that "G" rating, I guess!

Need to do some serious organizing this morning. I like to put together my carry-ons just so I can make sure it's managable. And I'm still not sure how we're getting to the airport next Sat. YIKES!!!!

I'll still be around a little bit this morning. Of course, I'll post my thoughts on what I see on the Ellen show this morning.(please, please, please let it be Joe that goes in the dunk tank!
1.gif
Debbie - you already got your "wet" Zac shot!;) )

OK, Ally was just looking over my shoulder as I scrolled through the posts. Had to quickly click off when I saw Zak sudsing up! :rotfl2: She's got enough questions already!!!

Cammie - at what age did you have "the talk" with Lauren? I've already had to explain why women have bewbs. And no, I didn't mention they were for Daddys!!!! :rotfl2: And when we were at the air show and used the port o potty, she saw the urinal in there and asked. I explained that's how boys use the potty and she explained to me that they can do that cause they've got "outies" WTH??? She's growing up waaaaay too fast! :sad2:

Still not feeling great but I've got to suck it up cause we have a Halloween party and hayride tonight up by the pool. Oh, and yesterday her teacher sent home a note that costumes for Friday's character parade should be "homemade." :scared1: Seriously, how am I supposed to pull that off by tomorrow!!! I don't even have any ideas! We have a Scarlett OHara costume from last year - but of course Gone With The Wind isn't exactly a kids book. Oy vey! Now I'm stressing!

Kara - I had bought the American Girl book "All About Me" when she was in 3rd grade. It gives a very simplistic explanation to the changes and/or questions young girls may have as they grow older: hair growth; body odor; breast development; periods; importance of exercise and eating right. When we first read it, I skipped the chapters on periods and breast development - she wasn't ready for that in 3rd grade. We read those parts later.

We had the boy/girl anatomy discussion probably around Ally's age; just a very basic one. My pediatrician thought it was appropriate for her to know the differences - and because she was hearing comments at school. But we didn't have the discussion about what "those" parts are used for until just recently. In 6th grade, the schools showed the movie about the body parts; I then tackled the "having sex" discussion - which she giggled through!

All I can say is :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Good morning girls! Don't know why I'm up so early - I think I woke up when Jim got up. I'm just stopping by to say hi! I'm groing to try to go back to sleep for a while.

I have to second the American Girl "AllAbout Me" book. Our peditrican recomened it and it is really good. We've been through it with 2 girls already, I don't dread it the way I used to. I never got "the talk", so I didn't really know how it should go, just that I really didn't want my kids to learn things the way I did. It really isn't so bad. Some things are harder, especailly when they get a bit older. I found some things you could easily explain by saying it's how you make a baby, but not everything has that explination (if you catch my drift) and I hated talking to DD14 about that when she brought it up.:scared1: I always think she's too young to know this stuff... then I remember that I was just a year older then her when I started dating my husband!!! Yikes, that is a scary thought! 14-15 seems so young as a mom and felt so old as a kid!!!

OK, y'all have convinced me I need to find this book.

Next question. Do any of you have the American Girl or My Twinn dolls? I've been looking at the My Twinn cause you can really get them to look pretty close to your child. But the Amrican Girl doll is a bit less expensive - plus I look forward to taking Ally to Atlanta for a weekend to the American Girl tea. I know, I'm a big nerd.

We don't have AG, just a Bitty Baby.
We did splurge and got DD14 a My Twin as a going into kindergarten gift. (I wish I could have for the other 2 girls, but we bought it back when she was an only and we had more money!:rotfl: ) It is a beautiful doll, so real looking. We would often see it and think it was her! The down side, it isn't a very good doll to play with. The worst part is the hair. Ick! It's awful. Worse than brishing real hair. It gets so tangled, it's a mess. Ours just sat in her room and s actually now packed away. It's really pretty if you want it to look at, but I personally don't think it is a fun doll to play with.
My kids were never big into dolls, suprisingly because the younger 2 LOVE babies. They had a few different ones, but I think their favorites were actually very cheap, they were the Water Babies dolls. They all did get the dolls in Disney, 2 played with them, the oldest never played with dolls and never took hers out of the box. I figure she will give it to her daughter someday.
Don't know if that helps at all.

Oh, and I don't think that's nerdy, I took m ygirls to NYC to do the Build a Bear lunch at "Eat With your Bear Hands". it was a blast. I would have loved to have done the AG thing too, they just wern't into it, maybe someday as a grandma...

Crap! It was Nick Jonas that was on Ellen - not Joe! He was still very cute though.

And Zac -- my,my,my! So adorable! His mom was on too!:cutie:

(btw - neither of them got in the dunk tank!)

Kara - As for AG: we went through the Bitty Baby stage and then moved up to American Girl. Lauren has three of them plus alot of the accessories and furniture. She loved to play dolls and honestly, it was just last year that she stopped playing with her American Girl dolls. I think she's officially out of that stage now. The summer before she started 3rd grade, we did a weekend in NYC at the American Girl Place. It was sooo much fun! It's a great mother/daughter thing to do.

As for the book, I know Barnes & Noble carries it. They have a whole section of American Girl books.

Can someone please pass the soap?

Thank You again and where do I see the whole scene!!!!!!!

True! But you can never see too much WET Zac! OMG I am nuts!

Hi girls! I thought for sure the Jonas Bro would be in the dunk tank. Bummer. I can not wait to see that cute Zac! I love him too much. I didn't say that!

Have a good one girls! Grandma is having a Halloween party so I will be busy until tonight.

Love ya guys! I NEED you guys!!!! I think I am a little to attached to you guys as well as Zac. Obviously in a WHOLE different way!

Ok - there are more shots from this scene; I will post them here for you, Debbie. Why? Because you're crazy nuts and I love ya for it! (and quite frankly, I get where you're coming from, girl!;) )

And, yeah - EXTREMELY disappointed in not seeing Joe Jonas in a wet t-shirt this morning. Man, that would have MADE my day!:cloud9:

Have fun at the party! Check back here to see your "treats"!
