Love all the Disney guidebooks! I have also read the Unofficial Guide front to back (and my dh has too) I really liked that book. We also bought the Passporter which I like just as much for how different it is. I love all the pockets and the places for notes in the back. It also helps my DH see just what I have planned that day. My other fav is The Complete Walt Disney World 2008 book. The pictures and the quality of the pages in the book is great.
I think my ex-inlaws may be coming with us in December. I am so happy about that since I really love them. Kinda weird huh? LOL....I divorced my ex, not them. So I think I will try and rent 2 studios from someone on the boards for our travel dates. Give my oldest girls some special time with thier grandparents as well as a magical trip.
I added another ADR today to our April trip. Also switched around 4 of them.
Trying to figure out at this time if I want to use 2 credits for CRT or 1 credir for 1900 Park Fare for the girls to see Cinderella. WWYD?
I am also another one of those people that writes down exactly what articles of clothing for each person for each day, and then I put the outfits into the gallon size ziplocs for easy dressing the next day. When we went with our son last June, I even had his clothes themed to wherever were eating or what park we were at. Yes, I am that anal. Yes, I have pics of him at Cape May in a lighthouse tee and pics at AK in a tee with a jeep in a jungle on it. Gotta love Janie and Jack and GYmboree LOL.....
I am waiting...not patiently mind you....to see if any P&PP dates will be released for the first week of April. If not, back up plan is a relaxing night at the campfire at Ft Wilderness.
I love that someone else counts by sleeps too!! We have done that forever and it really helps the kids since days last "all day forever". 52 sleeps tp go WOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

After reading some "less than impressed" reviews on the DIS, and considering I would have to be calling at 4am every am from the West Coast, just to get a busy signal - with all tables booked by 4:10am - I decided not to do two TS for CRT. We did 1900 Park Fare, and my niece and nephew loved it! We had a very good character ineraction with Cinderella and her prince, and the food was good, too! Here is my report:

Happy Planning! :rolleyes1

Donaldseeyore - I agree with Tammie. If interaction with Cinderella is what you're looking for, I think it's a better deal at 1900 Park Faire. We've always done CRT because we were interested in seeing all the princesses; but I think we've done our last meal there. It's gotten so expensive - your meal includes their photo package, whether you want it or not. And it's a small, set menu - not worth it, IMO. I think the buffet at 1900 Park Faire offers a much better food selection.

Quite a weekend around here! DH and I painted 4 (yes four!!!) rooms this weekend! We went with the peach (he still swears it's beige!!!) in the living room, peach and brown in the dining room (peach above and brown below the chair rail), and a bright granny smith apple green in the kitchen - looks awesome! We still have one more wall to do in the kitchen that will be more of a dark green. Then we finished up the pool bath with soft pale blue and taupe. It's my favorite room - really feels peaceful, and "beachy." The kitchen will be accented with reds and yellows so it will be very uplifting, to say the least. Then we bought new off white leather furniture for the family room and we'll accent it in red and brown. It opens to the kitchen so I think it will flow really well with the green and red. Trust me it looks a lot better than it sounds! Next weekend we're painting the foyer a neutral beige (I'll try to stay away from "corporate beige" ;) ) but we're going to have to hire someone to paint the family room and staircase. The family room is 20' high and there's no way I'm attempting that!

I'm pretty sore today - my job is all the trim work and then DH tackles the roller. I actually enjoy painting, but all our ceilings are 10', and trying to get up that high AND way back over the cabinets is quite a stretch on a ladder. So I was twisting and turning all over the place while trying to balance precariously on the top step of the ladder. At 41, I was definitely beginning to feel my age! :rotfl:

I know y'all will hate me for my next statement, but what the heck! It's going to be 80 degrees here today and I'm already in shorts! But believe it or not, hearing the talk of the snow, and seeing pictures really makes me miss it.... a little!

Debbie - Thank you for the PM, that was very sweet. But that picture was taken about 5 lbs ago AND I had already gained about 5 at that point! A lot of what I like about Jenny Craig is that it keeps me accountable, I'm more likely to drink 8 glasses of water a day, eat more veggies and the prepackaged meals make like so easy (plus they are really tasty!). I just need to get my head into it and get my body back to the fitness center, more than anything else. And it helps me to make "smart" food choices.

Teresa - Oh, you sound like me! I absolutely love the planning part of the trip, but I also obsess. One thing I noticed - why are you renting a car at the airport? It will only sit in the parking lot of the resort all week. Staying onsite is so wonderful in that aspect. Unless of course you plan on venturing off property.

Tammie - Your pictures are awesome! How much snow did you get all together? Also, how did you get your two tickers to show up side by side? I could only get mine one on top of the other, and the second one is cut off in my siggie.

Jane - The other thing I do is to make sure all our outfits coordinate with each other so the pictures during the day look better printed out! DH hates it when I do this! So this year, I've made us matching t-shirts from the Creative DISigns thread! He's gonna freak!:scared1:

Cammie - How 'bout them Giants!!! I didn't have a dog in the hunt this year, so I didn't really care one way or the other. DH went to be after the 3rd quarter but I stayed up and that 4th quarter was a nail biter! For both teams! Yikes!

Donaldeeyore- Have you considered the Princess meal at Epcot's Akerschus? We went there in 2006 and we're booked again for May. Last time we saw Ariel, Mulan, Alice, Jasmine and one more that I can't seem to remember! Then we saw Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty at the Toon Town character area. Plus we saw Belle and Sleeping Beauty in France at Epcot and Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco. So even though I was kinda bummed that the "major" princesses weren't at the lunch, we wouldn't have seen them anywhere else if they hadn't been there. Also, I just read that the Princess dining at Akershus now includes a photo package, just like CRT, and the interior of Akershus looks like a castle. We enjoyed it (and the ADRs aren't as hard to get).

That's all for now - hope y'all have a happy MOnday! :cool1:

Thanks Kara! We're all on cloud nine in my house!:cloud9: It was a little bit of a late night but fun. Our friends were going to leave at halftime, but decided to stick around. It's so much fun when your teams wins! Although, I must admit there were times I felt physically ill:scared: ! I grew up 15 minutes from Giants stadium and have been a fan my whole life. My family and I take this very seriously. Anyway, for once it was great waking up a Giants fan in Patriot's country this morning!:woohoo:

I'll check in later!

I know how you feel, well, sorta! We are HUGE Ohio State fans and we've been crushed 2 years in a row now in the nat'l championship game. And we're Carolina Panther fans in the NFL - we had season tickets their inaugural year (1995), so we've literally followed them since the beginning. Enjoy your victory! I'm sure the Manning house is happy today!

Hi all! I skimmed thru quickly, and had to jump on for a sec - - I'll be glad to send you some sun! :sunny: Our high today is supposed to be 85 F! We were at 20 F last week! We have such crazy weather. No wonder everyone isn't deathly sick. Our A/C is on. DD14 is sick, and stayed home from school today. I just hope that no one else catches what she has. It's supposed to cool off later in the week, but I am not sure how much.

Have an awesome day everyone!

:grouphug:

Hi Ladies,
The kids are sick:guilty: . DD is really sick with a fever. Kept her home today and will again tomorrow. HM 3D is tomorrow though so hopefully she can still go to that. We will see if she is fever free long enough to make it!

Teresa...I am a huge CRT fan because I am obsessed with being in the castle but I do agree with all the points my pals brought up. CRT dinner and breakfast you just see Cindy and get pix with her and breakfast you meet all the other ladies. CRT dinner there is just the Fairy God Mother. They do give you a sword and wand also and make a big deal about it if it's your special occasion.

CONGRATS to you Cammie!!! i am glad you had fun and your team won! I was seconds away from winning $500.00 at the end of the game but DIDN'T!

Pam2 Hope your DD gets better and for all of us I hope the germs don't spread!

Kara you are so busy! Awesome job! Take pix and post!

And not to sound mean but no more speak of it being too hot or I will ban you from the thread!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

Love you guys!:grouphug:

Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone :wave2:

A thread that's up our alley....

BTW Pam2 did you see POTD thread is gone!!

Yes...we should all check that thread when we are making our packing lists and gathering our zip lock bags!

Our cruise thread closed, too - I started it up as "take 2" last night with a link back to the old one. A mod jumped in and posted a link to our new thread on the old one. They are stopping them at 250 pages - so, we will have to plan ahead and move ours before that happens to us when we get there....

They will probably post a 2nd POTD and a link back to the old one.

Debbie, sorry your kids are sick. Hope they get better soon!

Hi Everyone! We do have alot of snow. There is about 3 ft on the ground, with more expected Wed and Thurs.

My kids are determined to move to San Antonio and take us with them. I am ready about now. ;)

Kara and Pam2: I am jealous of your sunshine! This Summer, when I don't need A/C at night, and sleep with my windows open with a nice cool breeze blowing in...I'll write and tell you about it :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Happy Tuesday, ladies! Happy planning to those of you who are close to leaving!

The colors in the house sound great. I am right there with you on the shorts, we live in Tallahassee.

We are flying into Sanford from Chattanooga due to having to take my older daughters to their dad's for spring break. I wasn't looking forward to the 10 hr drive to Orlando and then back to pick them up. It is easier to leave our cars at our friends house, catch the plane to Sanford (it was under $475 for 4 RT tix) and rent the car. We definitely venture off site when we are there. I love the Mall of Millenia and the outlets and so does DH. Tallahassee doesn't have much for shopping. We also don't want to attempt the bus system. When we were there last April it looked like everyone was crammed in there like sardines. Not for me. I was reading someones TR, the evil step mom one (LOL) and she was describing what grosses me out too. I keep looking at maybe a town car from Sanford to the World, but they cost what I am paying for our rental for 8 days.

Sorry to hear about everyone's kiddos being sick. I think my 3 yr old is on the way there. ONe DD has had a runny nose for 2 days, but he felt hot laying on me tonight.

It was another DD's b-day today. She got a day of shopping...right up her alley.

Off to my happy planning and laundry...............

Kara, I have to work very hard every time I change my siggie :goodvibes

I learned that when I cut and paste the ticker, I have to have the curser right on the end of the first one - no space - then it will place them back to back. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

Hiya all,

glad the SuperBowl turned out the "right" way for you!!

Sorry to hear about all the ill kids though - must be that post Christmas, back to school, spread the germs about thing..... just waiting for ours to come down with something....

Kara - 4 rooms!!!!! You have GOT to come over and do mine!!! It's taken me 8 months to do 2 walls in the kids room!!!

My posts are getting shorter cos there's too much planning to do!!!

Cheers,
Tessa

Kara, I have to work very hard every time I change my siggie :goodvibes

OMG - editing my signature is such a pain!:headache: I'm constantly cutting, pasting, copying, deleting - and I still can't seem to get it right! Now, for some unknown reason, by magicsig. has disappeared and has been replaced with a red "x". What's that all about? I still have the URL address pasted the same as it always was. I've tried to get back to the magicsig.com site and it can't be found anymore. Do you think that has something to do with it?

Tammie - Can't believe alll the snow you're getting. Your pictures do look pretty though. Surprisingly, we've gone a couple of weeks without the white stuff (I've probably just jinxed myself!) Most of the leftovers have melted - just getting alot of rain lately. I guess that's the lesser of two evils!

I, too, saw that post about thread being cut off at 250 pages. Read that they definitely won't be removed, just locked and restarted as a new thread. Like Tammie said, we could just put a link on the 1st page of thread#2 to thread#1 No fears ladies!

Hope everyone's kids get better real soon! And thanks for all the congrats on my Giants. My mother is pounding the pavement in Manhattan searching out SuperBowl champs t-shirts to send us. For some reason, I can't find any around here.:rolleyes1

Have a good day everyone. And, for those of you whose trips are coming up soon, keep us posted with your details. I love to hear what everyone is planning! I, BTW, am still waiting on cheaper airfare for my trip in June. I don't feel like I'm "officially" going until I book it!

I AM SO SORE !!!! After the painting this weekend, I come up with the bright idea to go to the fitness center last night! Our neighborhood offers a kids conditioning on Mon and Wed so I figured I could take DD there and then DH and I could go upstairs to the fitness center and work out, right? Wrong! First of all, DH backed out on me, then I was only gonna stay for 1/2 hour and then go to the grocery store, but like the fool I am I stayed the full hour before I picked up DD. I'm paying for it now. It's been 6 months since I've been to a gym and I really overdid it last night. Oh well, DH works late tonight so it will be an R&R kind of night for me and DD (who is trying to come down with a cold it seems like).

Tammie - you are so right about the summer weather, I will be very jealous this summer! I have never felt such oppressive humidity like I felt last summer when we first came to Jacksonville to check out the area before taking the job transfer. It is unbearable. It was bad enough in SC but it definitely gets kicked up enough in good ole sunny Florida! Thank you for the ticker tip. I figured it would be fun to see both of them for awhile - I'm sure this will be the only time I'll have two trips planned at the same time.

When we go later this month for P&PP, I think we may venture to the "dark side." DH's cousin is a bigshot for Universal so we may take advantage of the freebie pass and head there for a day. We haven't bought the annual pass yet because right now there is a special for FL residents - pay for 2 days, get 4 and you have 6 months to use them. So if we use one day this month(plus the PPP), then go to the dark side one day, then save 3 days for later in the summer, we wouldn't need to purchase the annual pass until Christmas time. Decisions decisions! But so far this is about the only thing that excites me about Florida - the proximity to Disney!

I have stayed at CSR and it's very nice - but it's so huge!!!! This month we're staying at POR. I'm curious why everyone is so down on CBR - I almost booked there for DH since we won't be able to make it to Jamaica this year (we try to go every other year and meet up with the same people down there). I thought I could at least give him the theming, Disney style. But the posts I've read are all about CSR and POR as the faves. Any opionions?

Have a great Tuesday ladies!

When we go later this month for P&PP, I think we may venture to the "dark side." ....

There's things to do OUTSIDE of Disneyworld? :rotfl:

So jealous you're so close! Wish I could give you an opinion on the resorts you mentioned, but I've never stayed at either one. I seem to read alot of positive posts on CSR; never really hear much about CBR. They both look pretty though. I like to stay at a resort that's putting me close to the parks we go to the most. For us, we seem to end most of our nights at Epcot, so we own at the BW. Love, love, love that easy walk back to the resort at the end of the night while the rest of the crowds are heading for the buses!

Jillian - After my last post, I noticed your signature. So I checked out the sight and now made one of my own. You should get a referral fee from sparklee.com!

Ditto! We "almost" bought a DVC on our honeymoon 10 years ago - you can imagine how we kick ourselves every time we're there. And it was for BWV, too! Epcot is soooooo our favorite park!

Hiya girls -

Kara, you have got far too much energy - I want some of what you are on!!!

Was looking at our Disneyland Paris photos (the kids want to look all the time) and felt this one summed up the magic of Disney for us - so hope I remember how to post it here....

Disney2007a015.jpg

This was at the Disney Paris Chef Mickey character meal.

Oh, can I just slip the Paris Castle pic in tooo??

Looking forward to Florida..... 60 sleeps....
