My 9 yo DD is rebelling against me though, she now wants Limited Too (yuck)....

Teresa - the fun is just beginning!, but you have a 13 yr. old. you know what it's like! I've been told that at this age they are just entering the tunnel, and they'll come out of it eventually. Seriously, my 14 yr. old keeps life interesting! I keep apologizing to my mom for my teenage years! The sad thing is I think it's my 10 yr. old that is going to give me a run for my money! She will be more rebelious, or so it seems! Fun times!! We do have loads of fun.

We're flooding all over in northeast Ohio! We had 3 days of heavy rain. and I think it's going to start snowing tonight..... somebody..... anybody take me away to somewhere warmer.

Quick question - anyone else have a problem with Bratz? So am I being unreasonable?

Kara - IMO, no - you are not being unreasonable. Everyone has their own opinions, and feels espcecially strong about them when it comes to their kids. Like others that replied, I don't think that I would put that on the invitation, but instead maybe you could trade your daughter something or give her something for the Bratz, then try to take them back and get store credit for them (someone mentioned that, too). Hopefully, she won't get too many of them, and maybe when the mom's RSVP, they will ask about gift ideas, and you can mention it then, that you don't care for Bratz. Good luck!!

Granted I hardly drink at all anymore since I got pregnant 6 years ago but I think I am going to start again! I had it at a party and it was YUMMY!!

Sounds like a plan! I'm with ya! I am so ready for a girls night out! Some of us have been trying to plan one for the past 2 weeks, but it keeps getting bumped! I wish that all of us could get together for a x-Rated Fusion, Martini, Belini...or even a Starbucks! We'd pull an all-nighter, gabbers that we are! Tell Maureen hi! I hope that the sickness escapes your house! I had one DD home sick Mon & Tues and the other one home sick today, with different crud, and I think today's crud was a major case of the nerves from a dentist appt. this AM. It was just a cleaning!

See, now that's just wrong! It's only 9am and again with the mouth watering??? I am sooooo ready to cut loose. Since we moved in early November, DH and I have not had a night out with friends (since we are just beginning to meet new people here!). I may have found a babysitter last night though, so that's a plus. Then I got sticker shock - $10-12/hour??? I have never paid a babysitter before because my in-laws lived just a few miles away so Ally would just spend the night with them when we went out.

AND those drinks are sounding good because I talked to my SIL yesterday - yes, the WITCH with a capital "B," about our upcoming Disney trip. She thinks we should just get one photopass CD and make copies. What????? If she thinks that we are going to all stay joined at the hip for 7 days, just so she doesn't have to drop a dime on this trip, she's Nuts!!!!!!! And she got PO'd when she found out I made a rez for Ally at BBB. She has 2 boys so this just makes her mad since she wants a girl. Apparently, according to her, the trip is going to go like this: room/tickets/meals are already prepaid by her parents, AND they should pick up tip and beverage charges at each meal, AND they should watch all 3 grandchildren while we she and her DH and me and my DH go off together, AND they should let the kids sleep in their room so she and her DH can go to Pleasure Island, AND everyone else should push the stroller because she thinks we're all going to be putting our bags in it (think again!!!), AND she thinks that her brother and I are in agreement!!!! What???? I told DH last night that I think we should alternate with them on picking up the drinks and tip at dinner each night. I mean, even if it comes out to $100 per night, we're there 6 nights, so it's $300 for each of us. Pretty cheap vacation in my opinion!!!! Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! Which reminds me, she also got snotty about us going to the PPP later this month. I guess because we're staying in a moderate resort and when her parents are paying we're in a value resort. I really need to try to keep a positive attitude or I'm going to head into the vacation determined to have a miserable time and I don't want that. But yes, she is the only person I know who has the potential to suck all the pixie dust out of Disney!!!!! Whew! OK, I feel better now

On the happy side, I went to Jenny Craig last night and lost 4 lbs this week! Woo hoo!

Kara - she sounds truly awful!!!!! Shame you have to share the magic with someone so oooooooooooooo (we call it being tight over here - the penny pinching, wallet snapping stuff...), makes ME feel mad to think of her.... Perhaps the pixie dust will work its magic when you are there.

We just booked a P&PP for our trip, and changed some ADRs to fit it in, I am getting so much more confident on the phone - but the Disney booking folks really are sooo nice it is easy. Never done the P&PP, so am hoping it is going to be fantastic!!

Jillian - SAHM - Oh, I am so jealous! I can think of all of the things I would do during the 11 hrs. out of each day that I am not at home because I work. Uggh. We make the best of it! Yoohoo for all of you SAHM's!

Debbie - That stuff looks wonderful!! I will need to try it. I am not a big drinker, but right now, besides my usual apricot and blackberry brandy (my grandma got me to like it when I was young, but only when I was sick - thanks, Gram!), I have Amaretto, Frangelica and some Cosmopolitan martini mix.

Kara – Your SIL sounds lovely! I have a lovely one myself. It’s hard, but don’t let it ruin your trip. We pay so much, plan so much, and look forward to it so much that you can’t let her ruin it for you. I know, easier said than done, but do your best! Don’t give her the satisfaction. Are people like that so oblivious? It really is sad. Don’t let her pull you down! We’re rooting for you!!

Yeah, Tessa! Things are rolling! I agree about the cast members being nice! I don't remember ever having a problem w/any of them, and so many of them seem to want to go above and beyond! Happy planning!


I will treat myself to a drink tonight because we were supposed to have a date night, but just found out that DD14 has a school activity tomorrow at 8:30am and again at 2:30. Uggh! I just love the fact that we have to go to a school that isn’t so close to our house twice tomorrow because her solo is in the AM, and her group activity is in the PM. We will try to see my mom and niece in between. We had to tell MIL that she cannot keep the girls overnight and we can’t go out tonight. Maybe next weekend…But – instead tonight we are going to have a family fun night!! Instead of us splitting up in different rooms, like we seem to be doing a lot of lately, we are going to grab dinner, get a movie to watch together, then have Wii tournaments. We have loved that game, but I don’t get to play it much. DH plays it the most (as I suspected!).

I work per diem as an EMT,but love being home. I still can't find time in my day to get anything done my LO is on the difficult side he wants to be held all day or have me 6 inches away from him at all times.

Every day I think DD is getting better and then night time comes and she pikes a fever of up to 103.5! Today I am finally taking them to the doctor which I hate because they will say it's viral and send me on my way after I now just exposed the kids to about 2 billion more germs! DD missed school all week and now she is off Monday and Tuesday next week so it's like she' will be out of school for 11 days in a row! I would have rather been in Disney World! Meanwhile I have had my monthly friend through all this and DH and my Mom are sick too.
THIS IS WHY I HATE WINTER (after January that is).
I apoligize. I know I am repeating myself.

Kara...Your SIL sounds evil! There's one (or a few) in every bunch! She sounds like an unappreciative spoiled brat to be frank! Good luck!

Oh yeah! Just found out I got into the fridge swap for our May trip! I love the Dis! Where else can you find a free fridge for a week???

Debbie - I hate that your family is sick! Knock on wood, none of us have gotten "it" this year, and I think a lot of it is me working from home! I talked to some of the gals from my old office and they're all sick and passing it around. I don't miss that! I hope everyone does some healing over the weekend!

Pam - Family fun night sounds great! Can I come??? Or can I send DD and DH over so I can have Kara fun night? We try to do that maybe once a month or so, but with an only child, it's just not the same. But it does give DH and I better odds at beating her in Scene It - Disney - she kicks our tails most of the time!

Jillian - I, too am jealous! Even though I work from home, it's not the same as actually being a SAHM. Good for you!

Tessa - We booked the PPP, too, but instead of going during our grand gathering in May, we're driving down for the weekend later this month. Have you ever been before? I have not and I'm really excited about it!

Didn't Spirit already implement this? I remember already being upset about this. They think it will help with heavy bags but it just makes you over stuff your suitcases.....oh yeah..they charge you for that too!

Debbie - I have tried the IM thing and I am terrible at it. My DD's do it on the computer w/their friends and I gave it a try when we first got it. DD14 has an ear infection and wasn't feeling well tonight. She's hanging out in her room, DD10 wanted to go to a friend's house and just got home, DH is watching TV in the living room, and here I am in our room, on the computer and watching Gilmore girls. I am on season 3. Cute show! So much for our family night, we all agreed we just felt like chillin, and agreed we will do it tomorrow night. DH and I did go out for Mexican food and I had a raspberry margarita, so now I feel soooooo...sleepy. That's the kind of drinker I am. One drink and zzzzzzzz......

It is going to be an early AM. I need to figure out where we need to be at 8:30am and how to get there. Have a great night, all!

Oh Tessa I hope you feel better. I have chronic sinus problems the best this is a placing a wet towel in the microwave and placing it over your sinuses it will help them drain. Drink lots of tea w/ lemon and honey and a TON of water you'll be feeling like yourself in no time.

My LO (Little One, Loved One) also known as Luca is already crawling and trying to walk he is only 8 months. He is still my little cuddle bug at night. I am so sick of the snow too! Most of my day is spent doing Laundry and cleaning up baby toys. It's amazing what a 17 lb baby can do. It's like a tornado hit the house. My DH doesn't understand why the house is not sparkling. I'm working 12 hours on Monday I guess he'll get to see how things work I can't wait to come home and say "Oh you didn't get a chance to clean today"

Thanks for the kind words on the candy/website. By no means am I website designer person. I recently took some photos just need to sit down and get them in there. It's Made-to-Order mostly. That way I don't have a lot of product laying around. I do keep a few on hand though.

What I call a "Doggie Nose" is a round pretzel with either white or milk chocolate melted in the middle and an M & M on top.

In the next few months I will send everyone (who wants one) a box to sample. (To the regulars on the thread..can't do it for the whole DIS). I'll contact you individually for addresses. It may be after Easter though since Easter is a huge candy time. Hopefully, it won't melt in warmer climates. I've never shipped candy before, but I'll get it there as quick as possible.

Most people have loved the buttercreams.

DD was sick for the last 7 days and now I am sick as well. So much for the Flu shots we got this year.

Been trying to find a decent rental car rate for our trip in June. Right now, it's outrageous. Got a decent airfare though and non stop.
