Good luck with everything tomorrow Maureen! I'll be thinking of your princess: DD!!!:grouphug:
Lisa...this week doesn't look good but let me see for next week. Elizabeth has a little camp from 9- 12 each day next week but maybe we can meet you afterwards.
Hopefully I will be back later!
S/S/S

So, you have one daughter and 3 boys, all under 12? You're busy! Are you all on summer break from school there?

Yes my boys are 10,7 and 5 and my daughter will be 3 in October. Our seasons are opposite from yours so it is winter here. Our school year also runs differently-my kids start the school year at the end of January and finish up before Christmas. They are currrently on a 2 week break and are only half way through the school year.

Tessa,
"Bob's your uncle!". :rotfl2: I just had to pop on to say this to you quickly this AM. I heard it on the radio on the way in this AM, and they said that it is a common expression in England, and that it was not bad (please tell me that it isn't!). Pam2:flower3:

:lmao: I am aware of that expression too-it must have drifted over to Australia from England.

Yvette

Hey all, just stopping by to say hi! I am getting ready for Grace's procedure in the morning. We have to be there by 6:00 am  . Luckily, the surgery center is only about 15 minutes from us and we don't have to go all the way to Children's Hospital in Philly.

I was awakened at 4 am this morning by DH throwing up all over. I think he may have food poisoning. He had a chicken salad sandwich for lunch at the cafeteria at work. I feel really bad for him. He looks horrible. Usually, I find that men are big babies when they are sick, but he is too sick to even complain.

Yvette...I can't remember if I said this before, but welcome to the thread! I bet you are having so much fun planning your trip to WDW. I really want to go to DLP when the kids get older. My niece went last year and she had a great time. She went to England and France with a group called People to People.
[/COLOR]!

I hope Grace's surgery goes well-my second son has had tubes in a couple of times and they bounce back really fast.

My eldest DS had food poisoning yesterday from us eating out the night before-poor kiddo.

Thanks for the welcome-I did love Disneyland Paris-everything was so clean and amazing :)

Debbie - Actually, next week sounded better to me, too. We are taking wallpaper off the kitchen wall and painting this week so my energy level isn't at it's highest. Didn't they use the expression "Bob's your uncle" in Mary Poppins? I know I've heard someone use it before.

Yvette - My DH told me they found a giant squid the size of a bus washed up on a beach in Australia. Is that true? That would be interesting to see. I love watching the discovery and science channel w/my DH.

Pam - Great trip report. You sound like you had fun even though almost everyone got sick.

Hi Everyone! Seems like I'm so busy - it takes alot just to check in with you gals and keep writing my TR! I just finished my photopass memory book - couldn't resist - and ordered the CD - 2 copies - my DSIS and I will split that one.

I have a question - Who's Bob?:confused3 :rotfl2:

Debbie and Lisa, I'm jealous! You get to get together!

Welcome Yvette! I live in Oregon, but I'm five hours away from Portland. I have been there quite a bit, so if you have ??? I'll try to help!

Maureen, prayers and PD for your little one's procedure! Hope your DH feels better.

Hi Sewer, Keahi, Jen, Tessa, Pam and Pam2! Have a good Thursday!

Tessa,
"Bob's your uncle!". :rotfl2: I just had to pop on to say this to you quickly this AM. I heard it on the radio on the way in this AM, and they said that it is a common expression in England, and that it was not bad (please tell me that it isn't!). If it is a common expression that you've heard, what does that mean? I had to turn off my car and radio when they were talking about it, so I missed it.

Hiya Pam2 - I had a little laugh at that one - no it's not bad..... it just means "it's obvious" but also now seems to mean "job done" "easy" etc "Got a man round to fix the sink and Bob's your uncle he finished in no time at all" HOWEVER the other half of the expression might cause a few giggles - in full it is

Bob's your Uncle and Fanny's your Aunt

Maureen - Good luck for the little one.... and hope hubby gets better - though food poisoning takes 3 - 5 days to get going, so he's probably blaming the wrong meal!!
A friend is a doctor and gave me a sliding scale for the kids -
don't like school - tummy ache after eating chocolate
tummy bug - tummy ache while eating chocolate
bad cold - as well as usual nose/throat - tummy ache but will still eat chocolate
gastric flu - will not eat chocolate
food poisoning - is sick whilst thinking of eating chocolate

I don't know if the scale works on husbands too???

Anyhow, got to go hang butterflies from the ceiling and "waves" in the dining room - DD2 wants fairies and mermaids "theme" for her party tomorrow ( which is good 'cos we have various bits in the cupboard)

Love all the chat, but things to do.... bye all....
Tessa

Hi everyone! I had to jump on and say hello! I have been so determined to finish looking at all of the Picture of the Day thread (I know that's weird - don't know why I feel I have to do that), that I didn't get to jump on our thread last night until I could barely keep my eyes open. I had to go to sleep! I won't do that any more! :) I'll check here first!! I haven't even been looking at any others.

I am thinking of Maureen and Grace today. Maureen - please let us know that everything went OK! Pretty soon you'll be letting us know that she doesn't get ear infections any more!:yay:

Have a good day all, and I will TTYL!:hippie:

TGTF! and Bob's your uncle!! :lmao:
Pam2

Maureen – I hope that everything went smoothly for you all today. I also hope that your DH is feeling better! Enjoy HSM! :cheer2: My girls can’t wait for HSM2 to come out this month. I hope it’s as good as the first one! Sadly, don't we all know the lyrics to all of the songs? The only shows I watch regularly are Hanna Montana, Suite Life, Naked Brothers Band...oh, and Grey's Anatomy! I don't really watch a lot of TV and keep up w/series, but I do that one!:happytv:

Tessa – Have fun at DD’s bday party tomorrow:bday: , or should I say GOOD LUCK! You will be worn out, but at least you have help! It sounds like they will have a blast! I loved your sliding scale using chocolate. What about women who to eat chocolate ALL of the time? Is there any hope for them?? :rotfl2: I hope that the sun continues to shine for you!:sunny:

Lisa – We did the tea party lunch and saw the show at the AG Place in Chicago, and it was so much fun. I probably said this (I have a horrible memory and forget what I have already said  – I’d make a terrible liar!) but my DD13 was around 9 when we went, and when we walked thru the front door she said, “This is like a dream come true!”. It is definitely one of our best memories, and a very fun girl thing to do. princess: I am thinking that I need to put an AG on my Christmas wish list. Have you ever heard of a Drowsy doll? They were popular when I was little, and my mom looked everywhere for one when DD13 was born, but couldn't find one. You know the way that everything retro is coming back - I was in a Target one day several years ago, and saw a Drowsy doll on the shelf! I called my mom, and we both cried. She had me buy 6 of them - for her, me, my DD's, my DS, and I am not sure who else.

Yvette – I forget that you all are on different seasons than us, but didn’t realize about the difference in school year. Are your kiddos excited about their big trip in April? ::MickeyMo Do they get involved in the trip planning – looking at the rides and attractions on the WDW website?:earsboy:

Tammie – I need to pop back onto your trip report to see if you’ve added any more pics. I need to get up to speed on the Photopass thing before we go. I think that it is different than it was when we were there in Nov 2005. Will any of your Photopass pics be on DISboards?:surfweb:

Pam – You’ve been awfully quiet since you got back from your trip – bet you’re recouping, unpacking and doing laundry, maybe getting some pictures ready to post??? :woohoo: I hope so!

I have lots of pictures from our trips in 2001, 2003 and 2005, and plan on posting some of them once I make it all the way thru the POTD thread. I don’t know why I feel I have to make it all the way thru before I post, silly I know…

We are celebrating DD13’s birthday this weekend. This will be the first year that she isn’t having a party, and she will not be home on her birthday! :sad2: She is going on a church mission trip for the week. Sat night, the family and a friend of hers will see the new Harry Potter movie, eat at Chili’s (her favorite) and have dessert at the fondue place. The adults at mission trip will do something special for her on her actual birthday, which is Monday. She keeps reminding me that she is two years away from driving. I do not even want to think about it.

Debbie – I have not gotten to one of your posts yet on the POTD thread. I am on page 700. At first I just scrolled thru quickly and only looked at the pics, but then I started reading what people typed. I am trying to keep up with new ones, too, so I am about 800 pages behind! I better get busy!!:surfweb:

Jenn – Are you busy working?? I always thought it would be a blast to get a second job at the Disney Store, Hallmark, or Bath and Body Works. I wouldn’t bring a paycheck home from any of the three. If I need something to keep me busy when I retire, that is what I might do. I love retail, but just not the hours and working weekends and holidays.:santa:

Hi Sewer and Keahi, and anyone else I’ve missed. Are you still here?

Night, night all!! Tomorrow is Friday!!:dance3:

Pam2, Hope your DD has a great birthday! sounds like it will be fun! I will do a little more on my TR before I go to bed. I am ordering the photopass CD, so I can then post from it - you can't bring their pics over too well otherwise. the pic of me being eaten by Bruce the shark is one - it came out all blurry when I posted it here.

Happy Friday everyone! :dance3:

Just a fly-by post.......

Grace's procedure went well. She was not happy when she woke up from the anesthesia, but she was back to herself by noon. Thank you for all you kind thoughts.

HSM was great until the fire alarm went off. We had to evacuate b/c apparently, the lights were starting to smoke. I waited for an hour, but then decided to leave b/c it was getting late and dd had to be up early today.

Well, I am off to work today, tomorrow, and Sunday. Today is inventory, so I have to work with about 15 people rummaging around the pharmacy. Our store is tiny, so I am not looking forward to it. Thats why I am on the computer...to procrastinate!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Maureen

Glad to hear the the procedure went smoothly and she's doing better now. Give her an extra hug for me.

Hi everyone. Yep..I have been absent some lately. Lots of Dr. Appts this week and this week coming up. I had to keep the kids busy because they are so bored now that we aren't doing tons of stuff every day. I am going a little batty. We're going to Nags Head, NC for a weekend (wish it were a week) in mid August. It's kind of a last summer "hoorah" before school starts. I am going to have to plan a lot for next summer because I'll go back to work FT once my youngest starts Kindergarten next year. :sad1: Where has the time gone? And I know this year will fly by too.

I think when I come on the DISboards after my vacation, I get a little depressed because I wish I was still ON vacation and I read about alot of things I wish I did or did and had a blast. I'll call it Disney Withdrawl Syndrome (DWS). The only known cure is: Going Back to Disney! :rolleyes1 :cheer2:

I hope everyone is doing well. Portia9: Hello! Welcome..hope to get to know you better.

A big hug to all of you...the list is getting long for me to remember, but you all know I think of yous (the Pennsylvania in me coming out).

I'm posting a few photos. We didn't take many. And I am in none of them. My DH can't take a good picture if his life depended on it.

Photobucket is taking forever. I will post a few this weekend.

Night!

Maureen - I am so glad that Grace's procedure went well. I know that it is such a big relief.

Debbie - I just saw your first POTD!! :yay: It is of the Mickey and Walt statue in front of the MK castle, and you posted it on my birthday last year!! EXCELLENT PHOTO!!! :thumbsup2 I am sitting here w/my DD9, trying to get thru all of the POTD post (still!), and I saw yours!! Great picture!! Of course it takes a lot longer to get thru it when someone else is looking at it w/you, but it's a lot more fun! We are talking about each picture, and remembering the things we did on our past trips, and deciding the things that we want to see and do on the Nov trip.

Did you get your laptop yet?? Mine is my work laptop - I carry it home each day, just in case I need to work from home in the evenings, or I need to stay home for some reason the next day. I have a 45 min. commute to my office, and if the kids or I are sick, it's not convenient to go get it to work from home.

Tammie - I cannot wait to see your Photopass pics!!

Pam - I can totally relate to what you mean about planning on cramming things into the summer. I work the entire year, so we cram a lot into the weekends, and school holidays. Christmas/New Year's break is like a summer vacation for us. The girls and I just go, go, go the entire time. We make the most of the time that we have off together. You just have to. Sounds like you need to take control of the picture taking in your family!! :rotfl2: I can't wait to see what yous :lmao: took.

Tessa - I hope that the big celebration went fantastically!!princess:

Bye, all! Have a wonderful day!! DD9 is patiently waiting to get back to the pictures.

Hi Sewer and Keahi, and anyone else I’ve missed. Are you still here?

Night, night all!! Tomorrow is Friday!!:dance3:

AHHH!!! Yes busy working..:lmao: I feel like it's all I'm doing, but it keeps me super busy..time goes by fast! I just got a job as a test driver for a car company. It's a very unique job, I get to drive cars all day on a test track!
12_7_21.gif

I actually have a friend who works for the disney store, and she loves it!! She gets 4 free passes to DL every year, and I keep asking her about perks for DW but so far she hasn't seen any. I agree about the holidays...its no fun...in any retail or food service industry..super hard work!!

:wave2: Hiya Pals!
:beach: These summer days really keep me away from the computer (which I suppose has it's pros and cons). I suppose I would be on more if I had a laptop too but can't decide on that yet:confused3 . :sad2: DH is in Poker On-line mode again too which also takes away from my Dising!

We saw Ratatouille (VERY fun!) on Thursday, had the kids pix done on Friday AM and then DH and I went to the Cubs game in the afternoon(they won and are doing great). :car: No Wisconsin this weekend or week but still seems to be go…go… go….:yay:
Well, you all understand that!!!

TinkLvr (Maureen) I am so glad Gracie:thumbsup2 did well and is doing good now too. Thanks for letting us all know.
My DH was on Solitol and now is on Flecainde. Your opinions are welcome.
Pbharris (Pam )I know EXACTLY what you mean about DWS:guilty: ! I get it after every trip!!!! That's why my :cloud9: dream is to go there every 6 months.....
....... that is just a dream!
DisneyOhana (Lisa) OK We need to put something on the calendar. What day do you think? Maybe Wednesday? I just can't get there until 12:30 or later if it's next week. The week after next is more open for me (all day wise).
Magicfor2 (Tammie)I DO wish it could be easy for this group to get together. Maybe someday it will work out! You guys are my very favorite people to talk to here! It is still weird to me how much I feel like I really know all of you!:grouphug:
Ahibird (keahi) What kind of fun are you up too!!!:cool1:
Sewer You better not have ditched us!:wizard:
tttessa (tessa)I hope your DDs birthday party was good. I am sure it was loads of fun!
Lovin Life ( Pam2)I am glad you saw my POTD. I bet you have seen a lot more since because I went through a time where I literally did post a pic every day. No lap top yet but I am still thinking about it!
Portia9 I am glad you feel welcome to our friendly little crazy thread! It is very weird to me that your seasons are opposite ours. You never have very cold weather there though do you? Are your holidays like ours?
DisneyJenn18Glad you are still stopping by to visit with your busy schedule.

I miss some of our missing in action disers..........

Hope to hear from all of you!

Maureen - So glad to hear your DD is doing well.

Pam2 - I love the POTD. Me & my DD look through it together. That is how she got excited about going to Disneyworld.

Pam - Nice to hear from you. Can't wait to see the pics.

Debbie - The following week would be fine w/me if you don't want to go Wednesday. Otherwise, I don't mind getting there later. The sun won't be so strong then. If you want more time there then we'll wait 'til the next week. We spent the whole day at Discovery Cove in Orlando, from 9 to 5:30. DD took a nap for a little while but that place is the best. I wish we could go there every time we go to Florida.

Maureen - glad things went well with your little one...

Party wise, we survived I think is the way to put it - DD2 of course had a great time!! Surprise surprise - it rained!! But we coped.

You know when you watch trashy TV movies and there are all the stereotypes laid out for you -well I think my little girl has friends like that!!!

We had the quiet one, the bossy one, the sweet one, the trendy (or maybe you would liken her to "trailer trash" - all HIGHLIGHTS at 5 YEARS OLD!!), the clever clogs and the sporty/hyperactive one (glad we put the ornaments at 5 feet or higher!!).... ALL IN ONE ROOM - makes for a really interesting party!!!!

Got loads of great comments from the mums - esp for having bowls of fruit out straight after school (thanks to whoever suggested that one!!) -strawberries, chopped apples, sticks of fresh pineapple (fruit that kids eat!!), and the crafts - they mainly decorated a treasure chest each with LOADS of cheap stickers. So I am a happy - if also shattered mummy! My MIL made a chocolate 5 shaped birthday cake with chocolate butter-cream filling and chocolate on top, decorated with chocolate buttons and little icing buttons with princesses on -so the cake went down REALLY well - girls and chocolate - can't be bettered!!!

Then the family do on Saturday was sunny - lots of fun and lots of smiles, and a slightly less shattered mummy - even though the trifle was really just a pink mess cos it all melted together - MIL surprised me with ANOTHER cake (just like above) so we are nice fat round people today!!!! She is a gem (maybe that's another reason I married DH!!).

Now I just have to prepare for my MUM coming to stay for a week from Friday.....(all the stuff that was lying around got locked away in the spare room - guess where she will be sleeping!!)

Wheeeee- school holidays start at end of day on Thursday - no morning routine for 6 whole weeks.....:woohoo:

Hope you are all fine wherever you are from ....

Tessa
