Hi everyone! I am having fun making my way thru the POTD post. I am on page 975 and only have about 500+ pages to go! I am looking at the new ones that are being posted.

Debbie - I've seen several of yours. You're an excellent photographer! :worship: Your kiddos are adorable!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: Some of the pictures, not just yours, I see red x's, so I am missing out on those. I've read a couple of hints about looking at properties, and copying and pasting the URL into your browser. I tried, but it didn't work for me, so I am just bypassing those. It would take forever for me to get thru the thread if I did that on every one w/a red x. I've taken hundreds of pics on each of our past 3 trips, but I think I will bring a tripod on our Nov trip, and maybe (hopefully) a little more education about digital cameras and photography. Most of my pictures have family in them, and I am hardly in any of them.

Tessa - I am so glad that the parties went well!! party: It sounds like they were a success, and it sounds like the kids had fun and the food was YUMMY! I think we ate too much over the weekend, too, or maybe I should just speak for myself. I am feeling a bit lazy today and really stuffed. Bread and water for the rest of the week!

We saw DD13 off to mission trip today. Tomorrow is her birthday. I won't even be talking to her! :sad1: Camp and week at IL's didn't bother me that much, but this trip is. I think it's the missed birthday and the fact that they will be river rafting. :confused3 It was harder to let her go today. I am going to change her age in my siggy tonight. She'll be 14 tomorrow.

DD9 is spending the night at a friend's. We find ourself alone again this evening. ;) So, what are we doing? I have been on DISboards for the past couple of hours, and DH just finished ironing his shirt and playing his online poker, and is starting a movie. :rotfl: We are such an exciting married couple!!:lmao:

Maureen - I hope that Grace is feeling better!

Hi Lisa, Pam, Tammie, Yvette, Jenn and the rest of the bunch! Have a wonderful week everyone!

'night all!
Pam2

Hiya all,
Pam2 - how on earth do you keep it together when you "see them off" on a trip - I would be a blubbering mass, I cannot imagine it! (or do the coming years get to you so much that I will want to be rid of them for a while by that age...??)

We had such a nice day yesterday - the girls got their swimming 5 m unaided badge and certificate (not far yet , but they've only been to 10 half hour lessons....). Then cos we were all tired, we sat and played board games, then a PS2 game and watched a video together - it was one of those lovely peaceful times (that don't happen that often...)

I'd love to say all was :hippie::flower3::love: today, but this morning we have had one of those :mad::sad::crazy::crazy::crazy: mornings. Started with DD1 wanting to play with DD2s new toys..... DD2 - "NO" , DD1 screams like she's broken a bone or something, cries, shouts, screams, whinges for about 20 minutes (even though the problem was resolved) and had to be dragged to school..... Both have had a talking to and my nice peaceful day has been ruined really - my stomach just churns when they fight.....

Debbie, love your chatty posts!! What was Ratatouille like?? I guess it will come out here in our summer break- another easy day out for us if it is any good...

Cheers,
Tessa

Hi everyone !! I'm back from lurk-dom. ;)

Sorry I've been quiet lately. Things around here have been super hectic -- between work and DS busy playing two sports this summer -- whatever little time I've had to check out the DIS-boards, I've been using to glean lots of helpful advice for our upcoming trip - CRAZY...

We're going on a short trip next week to the Big Island of Hawaii. Every summer we spend a couple of days there with DH's brother (and his gaggle of kids and grandkids - I think there's 20 in all :scared1: ). At first it's a little overwhelming for DS (in that he's an only child), but after awhile, he's in there with the rest of them. :thumbsup2

Belated welcomes :welcome: to DisneyJenn and portia9 (Yvette) - yes, I do have some catching up to do.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summers, so far... :sunny: Aloha -- keahi

One of the reasons for red X's are when people take pics out, lose pix or move pix from the place where they uploaded them (ie. photobucket, kodak, etc.). I made the mistake of uploading my pix then moving them around to different folders and no one could see a bunch of my pix anymore (which I am sure you saw)!:sad2:

Happy Birthday to your DD14!!!
I hope it's great (even though you won't know until later). Glad you had fun before she left. I can't wait to see your pix! My Mom and Dad (and sometimes my brother too) go with us on all our trips so when you see me in them it's because they took of me (I'm very lucky).

Your house sounds like my house! One minute I feel like super Mom and the next I feel like I am at my wits end and have lost all control of everything! Sometimes I feel like family of the year and the next minute I want to call Super Nanny (she's from your part of the world, right?)
I really liked Ratatouille. Cute! You can read all about it if you put Ratatouille in the search feature. I haven't found anyone yet who didn't like it. DD4 loved it too. It was her first movie theatre experience!

Glad to see and hear from you! We are deciding when to make our way back to your part of the world. My Mom and I talked about it and realized that if we want to use frequent flier miles we need to know when we are going at least a year ahead of time. I'll let you know when we decide!
Glad you are enjoying summer!
We really are too!

Hi to the rest of the gang too!

Maureen - So glad to hear your DD is doing well.

Pam2 - I love the POTD. Me & my DD look through it together. That is how she got excited about going to Disneyworld.

Pam - Nice to hear from you. Can't wait to see the pics.

Debbie - The following week would be fine w/me if you don't want to go Wednesday. Otherwise, I don't mind getting there later. The sun won't be so strong then. If you want more time there then we'll wait 'til the next week. We spent the whole day at Discovery Cove in Orlando, from 9 to 5:30. DD took a nap for a little while but that place is the best. I wish we could go there every time we go to Florida.

I will put you on the calendar for NEXT Wednesday and then we can see what the weather will be like to decide what to do. How does that sound?

Still here! Got back from WDW last Friday, and fighting the post vacation blues.:sad1: Everything was perfect there, received my requested room at WL, fantastic mouse keeping, and great weather. Anyone going soon, and willing to take me with them?:rolleyes1

Glad you are still stopping by! I can't wait to hear about your trip! Please share! Maybe even a pic or two????? :rolleyes1
So....when are you going back!:rotfl2:

I have surprisingly been OK w/it this summer. It's the first time they've been gone for a week at a time, and DD14! for multiple weeks (but not all together, thank goodness). I miss them terribly, but know that it is good for them, and good for DH and I to have time for ourselves and uninterrupted conversations! During the summer, DH14 stays up as late as, if not later than us!

I felt especially sad when DD14 left yesterday, and on top of that, a good friend of ours, whose daughter also went on the trip, is having heart surgery this week while her daughter is gone. How horrible it must have been for her to see her daughter ride away on the bus, and how horrible for her daughter to leave her mom. My heart is hurting for them. I just pray that everything turns out OK. Enough of that...

I'd love to say all was :hippie::flower3::love: today, but this morning we have had one of those :mad::sad::crazy::crazy::crazy: mornings. I can totally relate! My girls get along most of the time, but the occasional quarreling DRIVES ME NUTSO!! :crazy2: It just makes the peaceful moments so much more wonderful, doesn't it? (Sounds good anyway!) It sounds like you have some lovely times w/your DD's. My DD9 is missing her sister terribly. She's tired tonight, and has been sitting beside me all evening looking at Disney pics.

Our A/C just went out this evening, and we are MELTING! It is so HOT! All ceiling fans are on, and a this warm laptop isn't helping matters, so I am going to sign off. I hope that we can get it fixed tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow, everyone! :) Welcome back Sewer (can't wait to see some WDW pics) and Keahi (your family trip sounds awesome!)!:welcome:

:grouphug:

Hiya all,

SOOOOOOOOOOO glad other folks also have kids with a "split personality" - lovely, kind, loving one minute and little monsters (whingeing especially gets to me) the next!!

Ha ha ha :lmao: - what it would be to NEED air conditioning!!!!! Guess what - it's raining!!! and about 17 deg C - we had our central heating serviced this morning!!!! It's just so dull and grey - the colour seems to be washed out of everything today....

Will definitely be going to see Ratatouille (thanks..) and probably anything else that comes out at the cinema for kids in the summer break - just seen Shrek the Third - I was a bit disappointed, thought it was the weakest of the 3 but the kids loved it - toilet jokes and baby sick seems to keep them amused!!!! Mind you, if it comes with popcorn and M&Ms they'll sit through anything!

Got to go rescue the spare room from unimaginable levels of clutter/rubbish/etc... before mum arrives on Friday (for a whole week , now I love my mum dearly, but our house is verrrrrrrrrry small if you know what I mean.....)

Bye all..... 3 school days left - then no more morning routine..... wheee

Tessa

Sewer & Keahi - So glad to hear from you guys again. I am missing Disneyworld again and it has been 2 1/2 months since we were there. My post Dis blues last a long time.

Tessa - I only have one child and she has moments where she is a little monster and others where she is an angel. She doesn't understand that we can't all have our way all the time. That seems to be where most of the problem is.

Pam2 - So far I'm only at the point where I can leave DD for about 5 hours tops. I just read someone's post asking how often mom's go out w/friends. I know this is the opposite of what is happening w/you but I just thought is was funny because most mom's don't go out that much w/friends that often or for very long. If I get a chance to go out it is usually w/my DH.

How often do you all go out w/friends while DH watches the kids? or w/your DH while someone else is watching them? I have so much fun talking to you guys that I wish we were all neighbors.

I think that this place will help me to beat my post Dis blues. We'll see. We only go every 2 years, but we immediately start talking about the next trip as soon as we get back. It's a given that we will plan a trip for Nov 2009. It may not happen, but at least it's something to look forard to. The girls and I want to go to New York, so that may take WDW's place in 2009. That may not happen either, but it's fun to dream about it!:cloud9:

We've been fortunate to have both sets of parents close by, so since the girls were months old, our parents have been keeping them overnight occasionally, used to be once a month when the girls didn't have such busy social schedules, so we could have a date night. I find that my DH and I need that to keep our marriage healthy. My MIL has a very long list of instructions that I made for her when she kept Megan for the first time. She is keeping it to give to me when I have my first grandchild. I'm just glad that we haven't had to leave them with others. They certainly wouldn't have stayed away overnight as often as they have.

So, we leave our girls with my parents or IL's about one night every other month, now that they have lots of weekend activities. It used to be once a month. They do have the occasional times when they are both spending the night at a friend's house overnight on the same night. My girls are really into sleepovers, and we have many at our house, too. As for girls' nights, when DH is home w/the kids, it's about the same - once a month or maybe not that much. My girls' nights consist of dinner and drinks w/my neighbor friends. There are 4 of us that are really close. I don't get together w/other girlfriends much at all. All of our neighbor friend familes used to try to get together once a month to have a game night, and we rotated at our homes. We play Scene It, Cranium, poker...and it is a safe place to have a couple of drinks. We don't have to drive to get home! Lots of fun! The kids have a ball. It's just getting harder and harder to make the time to do it. DH loves to fish, and goes night fishing occasionally, and has the occasional poker night w/buddies, I guess about once a month on for him, too.

Don't we all! Just wait until they become teenagers!! It gets even worse. I sometimes wonder if DD14 is possessed. (Just kidding!! :rotfl2: )

OK Tessa, rub it in! I am sorry that you all are still having rain, hopefully flooding is over, but am jealous about your cooler weather. We're having lower than normal temps this summer because of the rain we've had, but it's still HOT, I believe around 95 degrees F today. It's humid, too. But...THE A/C is fixed! :yay: Thank goodness. It was hard to sleep last night w/out it. Luckily they were able to come today and it was minor. I got to come home for a couple of hours, but had to go back to work.

Has anyone learned if Harry dies in the 7th book?? Have you heard about the book being photographed and on the internet? I saw a little bit about it, but missed the news tonight. I need to surf to find out...:surfweb:

Hi Debbie (I am going to try to burn thru some more POTD pages - I think I'm on pg. 1070!), Pam, Maureen, Sewer, Keahi, Tammie, Yvette and Jen (and anyone that I have missed)!:flower3:

Good night all!
Pam2

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA! I posted on my TR the other night before leaving for the woods, and when I was all done, it wouldn't send:sad2: It said page expired. I tried again late on Friday, and then on Monday and yesterday - I could not get in to Disboards, even through links.

I contacted them, and I don't know what happened, but here i am! It is really late and I have a crazy day tomorrow, so I will have to do more catching up. Later! :grouphug:

Hiya

still wet still grey... only 2 more school days for us....

I am very envious Pam 2 - We don't really have anyone to leave the kids with overnight as the in-laws are a bit too "old" really - so we NEVER get a night "alone" (well, we did once - we flew to France for my dad's funeral and MIL had them for 2 nights - not quite the same as having a fun time away though....).
We do go out once in a blue moon - some friends and I do occasional babysitting amongst us for "returns" so we get to go to the cinema maybe every 2 months.
My mum is coming down for a week (on Friday - :eek:THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW .... must, must, must get things ready!!!!!) so we might get a night out as she will usually offer....

I am starting to get sooo excited about going to Florida - not till APRIL, but we got our DVDs through of WDW and Universal - made us all just want to be there.....:yay:. Going to try and add a ticker soon........
Tessa

Hi Gang! Just a quick fly by...
I am pooped. Busy, busy days per usual......
Didn't want you guys to think I forgot about ya!
Hopefully I'll type more tomorrow.

Good to see you. Later I will have to go read more.

Quick hint....
when I know my post is going to be longer than usual I type it out in WORD. For one I can use spell check and the other reason is so that it doesn't ever get lost forever on the DIS.

Debbie..I hope you get some rest!

Sewer....Hi!!!!!!!!!Hope you had a wonderful time with the mouse!

We are Binkie Free since July 3rd!!!!Never thought it would happen. Yayyy, McKenna! We were sweatin' that one.

Hi everyone!

I have been thinking of this thread because a few days ago we were watching Mary Poppins and guess what Bert says? "Bob's Your Uncle" :)

I am busy this week cause I own a bookstore (we are closing in a few weeks) but of course Saturday is Harry Potter day! Is anyone else a Harry Potter fan?

Yvette

Still here! Got back from WDW last Friday, and fighting the post vacation blues.:sad1: Everything was perfect there, received my requested room at WL, fantastic mouse keeping, and great weather. Anyone going soon, and willing to take me with them?:rolleyes1

Well, I've been known to pack too much and bring too large of a suitcase (have yet to be charged extra, but almost). We might be able to squeeze you in somewhere in November....;)

Do you create trip reports? I'd love to hear about it!
