Nope, I'll still here.... sadly. I just got dinged for 20 points also, too many things in my siggy, and the monorail was too big! :confused3 I fixed it all, and am just sulking. It snowed again yesterday, not much, but the fact that it did again.

I know rules are rules and all that but it really bugs me for some reason! As long as you keep the knight, right?

I want my monorail back!:sad1:

My grandmother passed away yesterday afternoon. I am taking it pretty bad. She looked so healthy when I last saw her but she wasn't eating enough so they were going to give her a feeding tube. A couple hours later she stopped breathing. I will miss her so much. My sisters, mom & dad, aunts and uncles, and my family would always get together on Sundays for chicken & pizza at her condo. Besides missing her it will be a big change for me. I am not good w/change. I know all of you have been through hard times too. I feel so dazed lately. I'm sorry to keep rambling. I hope all is well w/you guys.

Maureen, cute pic of your kids. They look so much older.

 Oh, Lisa.....I am so sorry. I thought she was getting better. She knew you loved her. And she will always be with you. I don't know if you have ever lost anyone real close before, but the first is always hard..sometimes devastating..just let yourself cry as much as you need to. I really, really took it hard when my mom died (we didn't see it coming) and well, I knew Dad was in bad health, but he was really suffering, but it still hurts when the 2 people who love you unconditionally are gone.

I know everyone says it's gets better with time and at the present time it may not seem that way, but it really does get better. Once you get through the grieving process you'll remember all the fun and great times and you'll feel her with you because she's a part of you. Sometimes a song will come on (like Queen...my mom thought Freddie Mercury had the most amazing voice! :rotfl: ) or the color yellow....McKenna's (She was born after they died) favorite color is yellow like my mom's was, McKenna also has that chin dimple just like my dad. For you it could be the things you did together as a family.

Then there's the times when I just want to pick up the phone and call them like I used to. I miss that, but I know they are watching over me and my family and I get comfort in that. If you ever want to talk just PM me.

So sorry, Lisa. I know your Grandma was a special lady. It is really hard to face the loss of someone so special who's been there your whole life. I will be praying for you and your family.

I am so sorry about your Grandma's passing Lisa. I can only imagine how horrible it must be for you right now. We are here ANY time you need to talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you hear about the shootings at VA Tech today? How awful. Blacksburg is such a small town. It's pretty centered around the college. What gets me is if the guy wanted to go down in a blaze of whatever...why did he have to take 30 more people with him? Those things just make me sick. Ugh. There's a lot of kids that go there from this area. I hope they are alright. Some students were jumping from the 4th floor.

Lisa.... I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. It is so difficult to lose someone that you are so close to. I lost my mom about 3 years ago. My sisters and brother and I am tell stories about my mom and it really helps to keep her memory alive. I will keep you in my prayers. You can always come here if you need to talk.

Pam...What a horrible tragedy at VA Tech. Its hard to understand why they didn't warn the students after the first shooting. How far do you live from there?

It's not that close to me. I'd say it's 2-3 hours away. I live right in the middle of Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. 50 miles either way. A lot of kids from this area and NoVa go there because it's a great engineering school and alot of kids want to be engineers around here because of all the growth, etc.Plus it's further away, but still close.

Lisa - I was so sorry to hear about your grandmother. There's never an easy way to say how sorry we are, but if there's any way I can help, please don't hesitate to ask. Deepest sympathy to you and your family.... :grouphug:

Such a senseless, tragic loss in VA :sad1: I just don't understand how people can be so crazy. I had a friend gunned down and killed by a crazy at work this past Dec. She worked in a retirement home, of all places.

Lisa, how are you and your family holding up? I am praying for you.

I am so thankful to have friends like you guys. You are all helping by listening/reading and your  and advice. It is good to hear that I will feel better as time goes by. I already am starting to remember the good times w/out crying every time. We had such a great time talking in the hospital and she seemed happier than she had been in the last four years. My grandpa passed 4 yrs ago. That is when she started getting sick. It was hard when I lost my grandpa but he had been suffering from emphysema and I knew I still had my grandma to try to keep happy and talk to.
Pam - My grandma loved Dean Martin. She had us watch his videos over and over again and I just love thinking about that. I cry most when I think about the things she said in the hospital. She said she was going to write us each a thank you letter when she got out because she is the luckiest grandma in the world having us visit her so much. I can see her face in my mind when I think of her saying that. At least she knew we loved her. I will just miss her.
Maureen & Pam - I am so sorry for your loss. Losing one or both parents has to be worse than what I am going through. I almost feel guilty talking about my loss because some people go through so much worse. Those parents and other family members who lost someone in the shooting in VA have to deal w/the pain and a lot of anger. And to die so young. Tammie, I am sorry about your friend. Thank you so much for your prayers. Keahi & Debbie, thank you for your kind words. Once again, I am so lucky to have friends like you.

All I could do yesterday was watch the news....I would say almost half the students there are from my area and I knew several students that are there. I am so sick to my stomach about this. Just another thing to worry about!

Lisa- I am so sorry for your loss. We lost my FIL 2 years ago and even though we knew it was coming it was still very diffcult, and though it gets better over time, a day does not go by that we don't miss him.

Well, gotta get dd off to school, try to check in again later and catch up!

Lisa..I don't think you should feel like losing a grandparent isn't equal to losing a parent. Any loss is very difficult. Please feel free to talk to us whenever you need to. I have to admit, the next few months will be really hard for you, but it does get better with time. I still think about my mom every day, but I feel like I have come to terms with her death now. If you every need to talk, feel free to pm me. On a more positive note, your trip is coming up fast! I know you will have such a great time. There is nothing like seeing your daughter experience WDW for the first time.

Pam..I don't know if I ever mentioned this, but one of my sisters lives in VA. She lives in Sterling. Do you know where that is? I used to visit her more ofter, but I don't get down there as much since I had the kids. There is some great shopping around her. I love Tysons!

Hi to everyone. I am SOO ready for some nice weather. It snowed here yesterday. I am so anxious to get my kids in their new Gymbo clothes, but it is still too chilly here.

Jaclyn - Thanks for the condolences. I am starting to be able to function better. Today is the wake so today and tomorrow probably will be hard again.

Maureen - I guess it does just depend on how close you are w/someone not how they are related. I have great memories at the Yacht Club in Disney w/my grandma. I will have to visit there and stop at the restaurants we enjoyed.

Hi Maureen,

I know exactly where Sterling is! My DH works in Chantilly which is around 5 miles from there. I love Tysons Mall too. They have a Paul Mitchell school in there and you can get your hair done for really cheap and it looks awesome. They also opened a new wing about a year ago. There is also a new mall near Sterling called Dulles Towne Center which is pretty nice too. That area has really, really grown. You'd be surprised. It's nicknamed "The Tech Corridor" because Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and alot of tech companies have built huge buildings there and are still building. Of course then you have all the services around them...like Wegmans. Love Wegmans. I wish they'd put one here! I live about 68 miles south of there. DH has a long commute!

Pam...I've been to Dulles Town Center! Its only about 5 mins from my sister's house. I wish I had a Wegmans closer to my house, too. There is a rumor that the might be building one 10 min from me. My brother works for Lockheed Martin in PA, but he sometimes has to travel to Chantilly.

At three minutes and four seconds after 2 AM on the 6th of May this
year, the time and date will be
02:03:04 05/06/07.
This will never happen again.

Hi Everyone,
Yesterday was My Mom’s birthday so we had a great day. Hit Gymboree again though so that always means spending more money then I should. DSs clothes were 40% off though. And thanks to you Pam I am on this big BBW kick. Did you see they figured some things out at the site?
Hope you guys are all doing well.

TinkLvr (Maureen) I am so glad to see you back here. I always like seeing your kids cute faces and hearing how you are doing.
Pbharris (Pam ) Maybe our friendship isn’t so good…I mean how much money are we costing each other! :rotfl2: J/K of course. I know it’s more like look at how much we are saving each other, right!!!!!:rolleyes1
DisneyOhana (Lisa) I hope things are getting better. :grouphug: Hang in there. Fresh air will probably help and more sunshine, right!
hannahsmomma (Jaclyn) ,Magicfor2 (Tammie),Ahibird (keahi) ,,Sewer
Hi to you guys too!:flower3:
tea4sanity (Joanne) You are on your trip now aren't you???????
On a more sad note.....
I am so sad about all the loss on the news that I can't even really "go there". It makes people like us want to put our families in a bubble! I feel so badly for all the families that are experiencing such a terrible loss right now and for what???? What is happening to the brains of these young people in our society now?:sad1: I know it sounds deep but seriously? What is happening?????:grouphug:

Debbie...I hear that Gymbo is having an additional 20% off already marked down lines starting tomorrow. Just in case you needed anymore kids clothes;)

Maureen, your brother probably goes to the same buisness park where DH is. I know there's at least 1 or 2 Lockheed Bldgs. in there. I didn't know they had a Lockheed In PA. Is it near Philly? I wish they had a Northrop in PA (where I am originally from). Wegmans (for those who don't know what Wegmans is: it's a HUGE, got everything, lots of Gourmet, ready made, fresh artisian made on the premises bread, awesome meat dept., cheeses and olives from everywhere and wine, did I mention the Patissere'(sp?). My DD's love it too! I bought Teriayki kabobs there last week and they were so good. Ummmm and the French Vanilla muffins! Sorry. I only go when I treat DH to lunch once in awhile. They are building one in Woodbridge, VA and Manassas, VA and the company I used to work for did a lot of work for the big developer here (so I know a few folks there) and they were in our area looking at land! That would be sweet! Over the summer sometime you should go visit your sister and we can all meet up at Dulles Town Center..kids could play at the play area and then we all get lunch.

Debbie....I read the first few words of your post and I was like..."Oh No, why?" But then I read the rest of it. I know..I am a bad influence :) I went in to Gymboree yesterday and returned an outfit that didn't quite fit and I didn't buy anything in return. The only clothes I am buying are about 10 really cheap t shirts from Old Navy outlet (DD goes through shirts and stains them to where I can't get them out. My older DD has already had her round at Justice & Limited Too so she's done as well. Bath & Body Works happens to be across from Gymboree & I went in there to smell all the stuff I bought. Love all of it. I tried the True Spa hand lotion....nice! I want to get the fragrance oils in the smoothie scents, but it's going to have to wait. I really can't pass up deals like that and I like to share them. Shopping is therapy for me.

My car rental price from Alamo went down saving me another $62! I am pretty lucky this year $29 airfare, $310 for 10 day SUV rental..knock on wood. Last year we weren't so lucky.

Did anyone else do the Bath & Body Works deal I posted a few days ago? It should still be on.

How's it going everybody?

Lisa, I hope you and your family are doing well.
