HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Hope everyone is doing well. Very low key day here. Getting ready for the busy week ahead. Badookies birthday is Wed and his party is Sunday. I still have almost all of the shopping to do wrap his presents and make sure there is a tape for the video camera.

and thank you debbie for the lovely card. I am glad to have friends like all of you. It is so nice to have somewhere to go to talk to people who understand.

Happy Mother's Day to my DIS buddies!!!! My mother's day present this morning was seeing the taillights of my SIL and MIL's cars pulling out this morning! :rotfl2: All in all it was a great trip, but I do have some great stories for you! I'll save them for later though. So..... (in my best Hank Williams Jr voice) ARE YOU READY FOR SOME PICTURES??????? Here's just a taste....

Me and DD waiting for an autograph...

Now my goal tomorrow is for DH to take pics from a more flattering view

I had to laugh at this cause I said the same thing!!!!! :rotfl2: I'm gradually catching up on posts now, thankfully y'all were kinda quiet this week - or are Laura and I just the big mouths??? :rotfl:

OK, in case I forget, I have got to tell y'all about the deal we got on season passes - at first we thought that it was right, but now we're thinking that they messed up, in our favor. Suffice it to say that we went in to Epcot guest relations on Thursday morning to check on upgrading our tickets to FL season passes. We walked out with season passes for all of us AND a Disney gift card loaded with $257!!! First guy only said we could have 2 days credit (since that's all we had left on our current tickets) but second guy that came over told him to give us the full week's worth of credit AT RACK RATE PER DAY!!! It was a no brainer at that point. DH kept walking around saying, "so basically they just paid us $257 to take season passes - it really is the Year of a Million Dreams!!!"

Oh, speaking of which, we were chosen for the Year of a Million Dreams to.....

be the First Family....... at American Adventure in Epcot. We got to sit in up on the veranda and watch Voices of Liberty, then we were first into the theater to choose our seats and they announced us. It was just me, DH, DD and FIL and MIL. More later....

Welcome Home Kara! I can't wait to hear all about it! It sounds like you had a magical trip, and I see you had alot of great shirts! Thanks for the pics! It has been quiet without you girls - we missed you. :grouphug:

Laura, safe travels! Hope you don't get the blues too bad! :guilty:

Debbie, thanks for the e-card! So sweet!

Cammie, I'm glad you had a great day! Your trip is getting close!

Erin, looks like you're off on Holiday - have a great time!

Jillian, have fun getting the party ready!

Tessa! Happy Monday!

Hello Pam, Keahi, Sewer, Tina , Renee...everyone! :flower3:

My weekend was productive. I shampooed the carpets on Saturday and took DH on a date. We saw "What Happens in Vegas" - really good! I know the trailer looks dumb, but we were laughing out loud - of course we kind of like slapstick-type, situation comedy!

Today, DH planted some roses for me, fixed Eggo blueberry waffles cuz I thought I smelled them yesterday :lovestruc and I did a bunch of cleaning. We visited our moms, and then we went to dinner with the kids and DDIL and I spent 2 HOURS at Walmart finding just the right shirts for our DL matching shirts! We found some fun embelishments for our pirate princess shirts!

I am exhausted! I have to get to bed!

Hiya all,

I'm going to start a call for us in the UK to celebrate International Mother's day too!!!! Ours is Mothering Sunday - linked in with Easter a bit - traditionally the day when those "in service" got to go and visit their mothers, so maids, those in the workhouses etc got to go home!!

Sounds like everyone has been busy - I've been "resting" my back and am back to work today.... totally spaced out on co-codamol - paracetemol (tylenol??) and codeine (morphine derivative) mixed :hippie::dance3: who cares etc..... I have to take great care crossing the road my mind is elsewhere - and have to let it wear off before supervising kids at lunchtime of course!!! It frightens me that people will be DRIVING on this combination of drugs... and probably thinking they are fine..... scary!!!

Well, just got to go make some birthday cards - kids friends have 5 birthdays this month - and my 2 bestest friends have theirs on the 13th, mine is the 15th... busy busy busy...... I am not paying out for that many shop bought cards when I can make some at a fraction of the cost.

Tessa

Here's a link to the dining reviews I submitted. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=25056722#post25056722

I'll be honest - all in all we were NOT fans of the dining plan! It was too much food and too much time out of our day to eat! I never finished a meal (cause I wanted to save some room to try all the desserts!), and we discovered that apparently we're not snackers either. We didn't want to "waste" snack credits on water or drinks (we did get our free ice water from CS places though!!!!) but then ended up with 7 snack credits to burn on the last day!

It was very hot and I just can't eat that much when I'm hot and tired. Plus, with our party of 6 adults, 2 children and 1 infant, it took no less than 1 hr, 45 minutes at every meal except Le Cellier (awesome server had us out in 1 hr, 15 minutes!). Plus, ever server except WCC and LC had trouble separating the checks because we added kids special drinks plus some alcohol, too. I think we might look into the DDE card and just use it for maybe 1/2 as many TS dinners, and then grab CS and split some of those. I felt so bad wasting all that food this week!

So the weekend is over and it's going to rain this lovely Monday morning. I got no sleep last night- literally 1 or 2 hours and now I'm off to work to be smart and use my brain.

My last sunday at Cracker Barrel - very sad. I had to say good bye to the GM who has been like a best friend to me for the past 4 years. sob! Of course at around 7:30pm I decided to do about 4 floor moves that were over due. I can't believe this woman still doesn't understand her job!! Another reason why I'm getting out of there. I like Cracker Barrel, but I can't stand my new manager. oh well - two more days left.

Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day!

Hi Tessa! Hope your back does well today. Don't work too hard on those cakes. I'm gald you are able to go back to work.

Kara, I read your dining reviews - I liked your rating system, but I had a hard time seeing the pictures! :rotfl2: I was thinking about getting an AP and the DDE for our next trip - I'll have to do some more math. Getting 20% off everything might be the way to go. I wish we had a dining plan in California. I can't wait for your stories! popcorn::

OK, I really have a lot of work to do today to catch up (as in work that I get PAID for!!!!), but I have to make time for my DIS buddies! I really missed you guys last week!:cloud9:

Story Time!!!!

Arrived at POP around 10am on Sunday, checked in, walked through the gates at Epcot around 11ish. Got fast passes for Soarin and rode The Land then checked in for lunch at Garden Grill. The inlaws loved the surprise of the character meal. So far so good......

We left the Land and headed for the Seas pavillion. Jumped in line for Nemo (no wait!) and MIL fell in the queuing line and grabbed her knee - OMG we're all ready to head to the ER but as it turned out she just banged it up pretty good - wore a huge bandage the whole trip but nothing broken on swollen, just scraped. Whew!!!!!

Then walked right into Turtle Talk with Crush. Loved it as usual!

Back to POP to check into rooms. All together and the one room that had the connecting door to inlaws? Yup, you guessed it, WE GOT THAT ROOM!!!!! :scared1: But in worked out in that DH and I could open that door when DD went to bed at night and we could go sit by the pool or go shopping or whatever..... Plus, SIL and her family slept in every morning so there was no point in them having the adjoining room when they weren't even up with everyone else.

Back to MK for Spectro and Wishes - we headed into Fantasyland against my better judgement. BIL wanted to take his kid on the teacups so DH, DD and BIL and nephew (is that DN???) hopped on with no wait. Then we decided we needed to grab dinner but BIL saw the Tomorrowland Speedway and said to DN, "wanna go drive some cars?" So that threw us off because they had to ride it TWICE!!! So FIL, MIL and I sat with the baby and waited....... and waited..... and waited..... But I was working FIL and he agreed that we needed to eat so we could get our spot for Spectro (it's after 7pm by this time!). We eat at Cosmic Rays and then start to mosey on over to Main St. They camped out directly across from the castle which turned out to be a pretty good spot. Everyone was happy, had a great view of Spectro and then Wishes. Back to the resort with no major events today. But stay tuned..... cause I have a couple of doozies!!!!

WELCOME BACK KARA!:cheer2:

Glad to hear you had a great time!(of course!) Can't wait to hear all the stories -- and see all the pictures!

Uh, yeah, that's me at Hoop Dee Doo when I ordered our table a pitcher of beer and told our waiter that I had been with my in-laws all week - he must have in-laws, too - notice the big straw in the pitcher for me!!!! :rotfl2:

You and me MUST party together someday!

Yes, this is Nick Lachey filming a HSM3 promo at Epcot WS - just another reason to love Epcot!!!!

2008_0510WDWEASTERDAY0098-1.jpg

As if we needed another reason! But - why would Nick Lachey be filming a promo for HSM3? He's not in it, is he? And, please tell me you had some Grey Goose Citron slushies!

Hi Girls!
LOVE the TR with pix KARA! I love pix!!!!!! Welcome home. We missed you lots!!!!
I gotta run for now but I'll be back.

As if we needed another reason! But - why would Nick Lachey be filming a promo for HSM3? He's not in it, is he? And, please tell me you had some Grey Goose Citron slushies!
Cammie..Nick is the host of a reality show where the winner appears in HSM3!

Yes I had the citron slushies (notice plural!!!), bellini, margarita, beers in Germany, UK, and Norway - not all in one day though!!!!
092.gif

I couldn't figure out why Nick Lachey was there either - but when I first saw him from afar, I thought, so help me if that is Zac Efron my DD (okay, me too) will go nuts!!!! But it was still cool to see him there. He's such a pretty boy though, with some chick mopping his brow and his big body guard handing him water. I kept walking around WS wiping DH's brow, asking him if he felt like a celebrity! :rotfl2:

I love going through all the pics now, but I haven't touched up any of them yet, so y'all might see some red eyes, etc. And then when the photopass cd arrives, look out!

Kara- I just love all of the pictures and the reviews. I found the dining plan more of a pain this time too, but We are going to use it again in Nov. for my parents who haven't been in 10 years. This way everything is paid for and no one has to worry.

Cammie and Tina- The rain held off here how about for you?

Tammie- I hope to get everything for the party done Friday Morning. I am going to Clean all day Sat. and then Decorate and make Punch. Juicy juice ounch sprite vodka and pineapple juice. Add sherbert and a large bowl of ice and ta da:wizard: Punch. It is so much cheaper than buying a ton of alcohol.
