Good morning all!

Very busy day yesterday. DD's speech went really well. Her closing remark: "I admire my sister so much because she has taught me so many things. The most important thing being to be nice and respect others - no matter how different they are. I love my sister no matter what and wouldn't change one thing about her!":lovestruc Of course, I'm videotaping this through cloudy, teary eyes; when DD was done, I put down the camera and noticed everyone looking at me through their own teary eyes. I don't know if it was pity or admiration. Anyway, I'm very proud of her!

So I'll be gone for most of the day - have to go into Boston for DD's dr.appt. I'm afraid I'll be hearing she needs to have major oral surgery this summer. I know it's inevitable; I just keep trying to put it off.

Erin - Can't believe you're leaving for another Disney trip so soon! We were lucky enough to visit Disneyland Paris last summer - it is very different. I agree with Tessa - POTC is much more adventurous than WDW's; and I found the HM to much scarier! Here's a picture of DD in front of it - look how spooky it is:

ToT was still under construction last summer - wonder if it's done? Crush's Coaster was open but there was a 2 hour wait and I don't think they had fastpasses. Nevertheless, we didn't get to ride it, but it certainly looked interesting!

Here's one more pic of the castle for you!

Tammie - As for the DDP: I've never done it and don't think I will as long as I have a 12 yr.old who eats like a bird! Having to pay for her as an adult while she eats so little would not be cost effective for me!

For me, I'm afraid being on the DDP would force me to eat more than I usually would. Typically, I could get away with coffee and a granola bar for breakfast; would then either order a kid's meal for CS lunch or split an adult CS with DD. Now we do eat a TS meal EVERY night of our vacation; so, based on that, have wondered if the DDP would make sense for me. But again, having to pay for DD as an adult makes that less likely. I know some people will actually sit down and figure out what they would normally eat each day, add it up, and then compare the cost. Seems like alot of work but maybe that's the best way to figure out if it's the right way to go! Good luck and let us know what you come up with!

last live report from the world. I'm getting teary just thinking that this will be the last trip for 5 years. DH says DD 18 mos has to be 5 before he will bring her. I'm so sad. I'm going to savor everything we can before we leave today. I'll catch up with everyone on Tuesday when I am back in MN.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of the great tips. They have made this trip so wonderful. :)

Enjoy every last second of it, Laura! Look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.

Thanks. You know, I actually did that last night - what a nerd, right? I was telling DH about what I came up with, and he didn't want the deluxe because we don't usually eat that much and we dont need to gain a bunch of weight on vacation. I agreed. We don't usually "do" breakfast either. Actually when I figured out what we would usually eat, the DDP does come out a little bit better even if we order appetizers sometimes OOP - and it gives us the flexibility to order dessert sometimes if we want it. I think we would usually just get some ice cream or something later if we felt like it. Anyway, it would be nice to be able to just pre-pay and not think about the budget so we will probably do it again.

Thanks for the DLP pics! The haunted mansion looks really scarey, but really small. Hard to imagine a ride going through there.

Oh, and I'm glad your DDs speech went well. You can be so proud of her, and I'm sure she made an impact on the other kids there. I'm sorry DD might need surgery, that will be really hard on all of you. :sad2:

I don't know if I'll be here for DP. I might need to spend some time with DH!
He's starting to coach Summer League basketball, so we'll see.

Have a good day, and stay safe in the city!

Hi girls...quick one since I HAVE TO clean for the baby sitter tonight...
Tammie... we do DDP because we always get a deal on a package or something like that. I have just told myself that it's done and paid for...if you don't finish (or want to finish) your food just leave it! We use snacks for breakfast sometimes. With ADRs it's really just one HUGE meal a day. I always lose weight in WDW. I love it! And only once were we not on the DDP. Now if I was paying FULL PRICE for the DDP we probably WOULD NOT do it!

HI LAURA!!! Sorry you have to come home. I feel for ya! You will just have to change DH's mind or bonk him. I hate when the Dad's do that..."We can't go till this age" or "they aren't even going to remember this or that"....Yada yada all a bunch of CRAP! You can work it out. I have faith in your magical powers. It doesn't always have to be a big elaborate trip....
Sorry to rant but that is one of my BIG pet peeves when the DHs ca bash the trips for dumb reasons...! My DH would try it and I ignore him!
I will randomly get the "don't you want to go somewhere else for a change?" which I repley..."No"...
Now if there is a legitimate reason for waiting (ie money, vacation time, circumstances, etc) that's different and completely understandable.

You will sneak a little trip in before 5 years...YOU CAN DO IT!
CAN NOT wait for more TR from you! Love what we already got and how great that you came to us "LIVE from WDW!".

Cammie....how sweet! I knew it would be wonderful!
How about LOST??? Once again MORE confused than ever!

LOVE the pix from Paris...Yours too Tessa! Super cool!!! Tessa sorry you are getting the blues. That was the reason I REALLY needed the DIS....to get me through those tough times.

Where did RENEE go????
Hi Jillian and Erin!

I think we lost Pam again too!
Welcome home KARA!!!! Sorry you're back!:rotfl2: (not sorry your here...sorry you're not in WDW anymore)

Hey if she is 18 month now and she has to be 5 then isn't that 3 and a half years until the next trip....:rotfl2: That sounds a lot better than 5 years!!!!

Hi everyone. Hope things are well. The bad weather is starting here just heard some thunder. We are expecting a great nor easter.

DS is crying again :sad2: :sad2: I really can't wait for this teething to stop.

Laura there is no way I would wait 5 years to go to Disney My DH could stay home :rotfl: Thank goodness he loves it almost as much as I do. Just remind him under three is free. DS Loves that and we will try to go back 2 times a year until then.

Debbie- glad to hear things are working out well for you. It was nice here this week too so we have been out walking and getting things done.

Renee- you must be feeling better. You are never here anymore.

Erin, Tessa, Kara, Cammie & Laura - I've enjoyed all the pics! Keep them coming

Kara & Laura - so enjoying you guys reporting LIVE! LOVE that you got to meet! Great pic of the four of you!

Jillian - What about switching CP to a dinner? The dinner was SOOOOO much better than CM. I thought that the food selection and quality was much better at CP. We did breakfast and dinner at CP. Breakfast was okay - typical breakfast stuff. I did enjoy Tusker House breakfast more. Same offerings - just better tasting for some reason!

Tessa - hope that you are feeling better and your back is getting back to normal!

Hi Tina - and congrats on leaving CB! How are your days/nights going now?

]Renee? Her Anniversary love fest didn't start yet did it?????
.
:lmao: Nope, that officially starts at noon tomorrow. I have an hair appt at 10, so I guess it starts for me a little early! I've been rushing around cleaning, getting things done. I finally gave in and started this med for post part. depression. It has helped so much. I'm just catching up on cleaning and getting things done that have needed doing for months. It is SOOOO nice to finally feel like me again.

Yesterday they said a small tornado did some damage down the road. The weird thing is it really didn't seem that bad here!

Off to finish a year of shreading! Oh - and if anyone else is looking to do donations, Turbo tax has a free software called itsdeductibe. You use that for estimates, take your pictures and you are done!

Ooops - lunchtime, time to get going! Catch you all later! Hopefully I can check in before we leave tomorrow. If not, I'll catch you all after lovefest! Hard to believe it has been 8 years (well, really 10, we were bad and lived together for two years first :rolleyes1 )

DS is crying again :sad2: :sad2: I really can't wait for this teething to stop.

Renee- you must be feeling better. You are never here anymore.
Did your dr say that you should try tylenol for teething? I sware that motrin and tylenol really helped both my kids. The oraljel stuff just always made them mad. I tended to give both a dose after they had a good meal. I favored motrin since it also helps with swelling. The kids always seemed to feel much better after that. If Badookie isn't eating well because of teething, try chilling some fruit baby food or freezing some of that tube yogurt too. Sometimes a dose of tylenol after a snack will take the edge off enough for them to get a good meal in too! Hang in there though, it is always a tough time for the moms to go through too! It will be better soon!

Yes, I'm feeling much better these days. I've actually had to be splitting my computer time on homework, and secret sisters for CKU. I have done NOTHING on the homework :lmao: but I have done well with the secret sisters stuff. It is time consuming though! Only 3 more weeks of it to go!

Hi Jillian! I feel guilty but sometimes the crying turns into nails on a chalk board doesn't it. It WILL pass. Then they move on to crying and whining about new things! BUT I LOVE THEM!

Glad you are still with us Renee...glad the meds help. Can I ask what kind? You can PM me if you want. I think I might PM you my naughty smileys because I am dying to use them!!!

I hope you guys sunscribed to RUMBLYTUBLEY's thread because it is hilarious!

I'll go get the link for you guys again!

Hi Guys!

Debbie - Those iron-ons are great! Maybe someday I'll actually make shirts for us to wear on our trips!

No time right now; just got in a little while ago. Looks like DD will have surgery at the end of July. I cried on the way home but have accepted it. I know it's in her best interests. Now I just need to have a little snuggle time with her. My baby!:lovestruc

Will try to pop in tonite but girls and I may just watch a movie together.
Have a good one!

Oh to bad bad....it will be OK. The WORST is the whole process. But like you said..it's all for the best.
Happy cuddle time!
I'll be rocking the house tonight!

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA for the past couple of weeks - things around here have been CRAZY busy. Tons of things at going on at DS's school - including their class trip to the Big Island of Hawaii (and almost being evacuated because of the sulfur dioxide levels from the volcano) and the school's annual fundraising luau (I'm a PTA board member). Glad that's all over...

Anyways, I haven't had a chance to DIS or even think about Disney for a while... I've read through the last few pages - :surfweb: wow, you ladies have been busy. Instead of trying to catch up, I'm just going to jump right in because I really need to start thinking about our upcoming trip at the end of Sept...

aloha -- keahi

Hey Cammie - I may have missed this discussion. Is it a routine surgery or something completely unexpected. From this post, I was thinking it was something unexpected? HUGS! It will be okay.

I'm glad I can be your favourite person! :rotfl2: Yes, the castle is Sleeping Beauty's. It is quite a bit smaller, but somehow it has its own magic.

Yes i think i was 10 or 11 when i went to DL so the Castle seemed just as big hahaha but then isn't everything when you're a kid .... Oh Sleeping Beauty has been DD's favourite princess since she was about 1 i reckon ... i also found out that the Castle at DLP is Sleeping Beauty's too so yes she is v v v excited about that too

Oh, and BTW Erin, your next trip is only 4 days!!! I hope you take lots of pics, cuz I bet most of us haven't seen DLP!

Ooh i will defo take many many pics and i cannot wait, we go to France Monday and DLP Tuesday we are staying off site and only doing a couple of days there but i can't wait, my friend and her 2 DD's and DS have never been to any Disney so i am wanting it to be as magical as poss for them

Erin - hope you have a GREAT time at DLRParis, it really is a different world.... for bits of it you will think you are back in Florida (I am going to be cruel - look away now.... IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL...... come on everyone - join in......) , but you have to do POTC - it is (or was last year anyhow) a bit different..... a bit scarier at the end... Also Haunted Mansion - the story is in French, but is also a bit different. Buzz is better - the guns are a bit different design - oh, and at the Studios you have to watch out for the shows - get the times leaflet - they sometimes do Lilo and Stitch one outdoors on the little stage, the kids join in with the hula - a great laugh...

Use Fast passes for the big name rides.... BTMRR especially gets long lines.... You have to let me know what the new rides are like too - crush's coaster, cars, etc - they weren't up and running last year when we were last there. Mmmmm - have to see if our airmiles will get us to Paris - next year -can't afford another trip this year.....:sad1:

Thankyou sooo much for all the tips Tessa i will defo let you know everything when am back ... I also read about a Mary Poppins show so girls are v excited about that ... and really looking forward to Crush's Coaster
Have loved reading your TR by the way

Hi! Good advice, but here's a little caution for all of you from a former Peds employee: BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE TYLENOL. Try to use mostly Motrin. Tylenol can be very toxic to the liver. Some docs here tell you not to give it at all to babies. There is a college age gal here who ended up in a coma and then in a wheelchair from Tylenol toxicity from just a few doses that were a little more often than recommended.

I'm sorry DD has to have surgery. What are they doing? We will keep her in our prayers. :grouphug:

Keahi! Volcanoes! :scared1: Never really thought about having to live near one, although one errupted North of here 27 years ago. Thanks for checking in and stay in touch! We miss you! :flower3:

Debbie, don't get too Wild! :dance3:

Hello to everyone else! Gotta go to the bank with DH! I'll try to check in later!

Hey Cammie - I may have missed this discussion. Is it a routine surgery or something completely unexpected. From this post, I was thinking it was something unexpected? HUGS! It will be okay.

Not completely unexpected. Had a discussion last year with an oral surgeon - meds that DD has been on in her life have caused her gums to become overgrown. Baby teeth are stuck and new ones can't come in. Doc says he needs to go in and cut gum and remove teeth - all to prevent infection and further pain. I've known this was coming but I've been trying to put it off. I know it makes sense to go in now before a bigger problem develops -- it's just that the dr. has said it is very painful so I just feel so bad. Best case scenerio - we'll be in the hospital for about a week. Been down this road before though; you go in for one thing and two other problems occur. DD's a really strong kid and always bounces back better than they all expect - keeping my fingers crossed that will be the case this time around. She's been through so much!:sad1:
