OMG!!! Debbie - your most recent random act of kindness was sending that HOme Depot ad - I laughed until I cried cause I could TOTALLY see myself doing that in my, er, uh, younger days!!!!!

So DH just dropped his buddy and family off at the airport for their Disney vacation. He calls me on the way home and says, "I want to go on an airplane. I want to go on vacation." SORRY! We're still paying off the last vacation and haven't even started saving for the next one. He's not going to trick me into planning another vacation to Disney even though he knows how badly I want to go everyday!

Tina - I'm so glad you're still with us. I felt sooooo bad for you on your drive home from Disney. Hope everyone is back to normal now.

The random acts of kindness--I nominate Cammie for sending a beautiful dress to my DD. :)

I will get my trip report set up soon. Oh the laundry piles await....

Aw- thanks! I'll share that act with my DD!:) Welcome home and I can't wait to read your TR!

Let's see - other acts of kindness? Does being nice to my ex even though I can't stand the sight of him count? Seriously, I'm like Debbie - I'm constantly handing over store coupons to strangers at the mall. One day, I was on line at LimitedToo; I had two 20% off coupons and the lady in front of me had about $200 worth of clothes she was buying and no coupon. I gave her one of mine; swear, she acted like she had just won the lottery! It's nice when it's appreciated. Can't tell you how many times I go out of my way to hold doors open for people and never even get a thank you!:sad2: I'll still do it though - especially for those moms with strollers who really struggle. Our neighbors are always looking out for each other; I'll take up someone's trash barrels if they're lying in the street or if I know they're away for the day. Lord knows, many people have been kind to me and the girls over the years!

Kara and Laura - Can't wait to see more pix. I'm debating getting the photopass CD for my trip in June. It's just DD & I; and she really hates posing for a ton of pix -- she doesn't mind getting a few taken, but when I get the CD, I want to stop at all the photographers! I'll definitely do it in Nov. when it's all three of us -- but for just the two of us?:confused3 On the other hand, I still want some nice photos of us; going to a photopass photographer will probably be the only way to get pictures of the both of us together. What do you think?

Well, I'm off this morning for my annual mammogram - FUN! Hope you all have a great day!

Cammie - just use your own camera and ask the photopass photogs to take your photos with that one! Ta da!!!! Photopass photos for free! And you won't feel obligated to stop at each one!

Have fun this morning - ouch!!!! They have a new machine here that is soooooo padded that it was nothing bad this time. Good luck!

I could say something dirty here!:rolleyes1

And, you're right about asking the photopass photographers to use my camera, but you know what I always notice? They NEVER zoom in with my camera! They'll get the shot -- with about 50 other people in the background. I wonder if they do that on purpose, so you'll buy the photopass pix instead?:confused3

Durn sneaky photographers!!! :rotfl2: Just zoom in before you hand it to them. C'mon work with me here - I'm trying to save you $100! Hey, that's my random act of kindness! :lmao:

Good Idea! What about doing a photopass share too with other DISers? I know I was leary being too much of a control freak, but if it is just a few - would it be worth a shot?

Laura - one actually ripped up a gas station 2 miles from us last week, but we seemed fine. Nothing really seemed that bad. We get them so often here. Thanks for thinking of me, but so far, everyone is safe and sound! :thumbsup2

See you all are such lovely ladies for doing nice things for everyone! I got some nice ideas of things to do for others from you too. I love the idea of helping with yard work Tessa. That is always such a chore! We like to do unexpected things to help other people out too. We had our roof redone last year and we ordered all 15 guys pizza and drinks for lunch. They were so excited (after they got through being skeptical at first). I gave an offer of help to a 37 week pregnant woman to do her errands, or let her son come to play at our house. I didn't start a fight with my mom, even though I should have...:rolleyes1

Get this, we bought a new grill to replace our old one. Well my mom calls the morning before she is to watch the kids that night and TELLS me that she is coming to pick up the grill. She knew I wouldn't say no since she wouldn't watch the kids that night if I did. Granted, I would have given it to her anyway, but I HATED her method.

One other thing I did once was take a whole sack of DS shoes - He wears a 2 now, so it was like infant 4's through size 12 and it was a BIG birthday bag full. I took it in and handed it to a mom at DS school that had a 3rd unexpected boy after she had gotten rid of all the kid stuff.

Like most of you, I just really enjoy helping other people and knowing in some way I made their day better.

SO...

Tessa
Cammie
Laura
Tina
Jillian
Tammie
Erin (I'm putting her in since she is at DLP!)

Pick a number, one to 1000 and we will get a winner for the MOnsters INC DVD! Tessa - if you don't mind, being our other gal from across the pond, you get to pick a number for Erin too.

Good luck everyone!

Oh, and this was my favorite. We went to dinner at a rest a few weeks ago. We waited forever for our dinner. It was a kitchen issue. The waiter was young. We learned he had a son our DS age and was 24. He was so nice. Everyone was getting their tickets discounted. We never complained, but to each other, not to the staff.

The waiter had our ticket cleared completely on his own. I watched his face when he was picking up his tickets and could tell that people weren't tipping him. It totally wasn't his fault. I left him a $50 tip and left before he could see it. I am hoping that helped make his night better. At first DH was a little shocked/aggravated, but then he gave me a hug. Not like we are loaded or couldn't have used that to pay our bills, but I definately felt we were in a better position than that guy and I wanted to help out a bit.

Has anyone ordered the photopass scrapbook? My SIL wants to get it for her parents (cause it's the cheap way to go for her!) but I recall someone saying they did it and it wasn't all that?

I'm confused - who's giving away the DVD?

If you want to add another good deed to my list - I'll take my name out of the running for the DVD. My kids LOVE that movie so we already have it! Besides, I think those of you with younger kids might appreciate it more. Now ....... when you start giving away free trips ....... count me back in!;)

I scrapbook - and someone asked (maybe Tammie) what CKU was - it is like the scrapbooking mecca thing. ha ha. I started out doing it and was really put off by the inability to add a lot of text and the way they made you put certain sizes on certain pages. I DID NOT like it but that is because I'm use to a lot of artistic abilities that it limited me on. Now, if you aren't someone who likes to write a lot, and you aren't concerned with thin book pages maybe getting ripped to shreads by little ones (my scrapbooks are in page protectors so this was a step in a wrong direction) then it might be a good thing since it is pretty much a cookie cutter type thing. Seemed very easy to use - I just wanted "more".

Cammie, I'm giving away the DVD. It is taking up space. Maybe the kids would grow into it - but for now, not so much. I just thought it might be nice to get it to a home that would appreciate it more :)

Okay, Cammies out...
Any takers?

Renee - you are a very kind person! I hate to see servers get stiffed when a ticket is discounted like that. But $50! Wow! You go girl!

OK, do I publicly post my number here? Or PM you? I'm like Cammie - where is the DVD coming from?

I did it! It was alot of fun, and we got a really nice keepsake book! Ours is a little short, because I didn't pay for the extra pages. I'll take some pics in it and post a few for you.

I think the whole lunch was round $24 if we had paid for everything. So even if the ticket had been whole price, it should have helped him out! I hope so.

As for posting the number or PMing me - I don't care. I don't think it makes a difference. I've already gotten the number picked so whoever gets closest to it wins. Then that person can PM me their address and I will mail it to them.

DD is getting into BARNEY. Ehhhh. I SO dislike Barney. Of course she is going to love him....

I scrapbook when I can - I wish I had more time. I'm not all that artistic, though. Some days, I can't think of what to do, so I just crop for awhile. Maybe that's why I enjoyed putting the book together! So you should really have fun at CKU!

As for the movie, Thanks so much, but I would like to leave it for those with little ones, too. DGS has a copy already here. Thanks so much! Mostly, I want to thank you for putting the positive energy out there and reminding us to RAK whereever we go!!!!! I think alot of you are much nicer than I am - the only thing I can remember is giving someone my place in line at the grocery store, and picking up and hanging up some shirts that fell on the floor at the store.

247 is my number......

I would LOVE to see the photopass scrapbook pages. I didn't know you had to pay for extra pages and I so know that SIL will not want to do that. Why do I even bother??? :sad2:
