my pizza turned out great. I used the good old betty crocker cookbook. I heated the grill to high and put the pampered chef stone in there to heat up. I was reading our paper this weekend and they said they were expecting a 50% jump in natural gas prices and cooking outside on a the grill was a way to save $$. Guess I was ahead of them on that one. hahahaa

Cammie I do the same thing. when I am stress I always start something I can't finish. I think it is my way of escaping the situation.

Jillian- I give up sometimes when I post. It is hard to remember who what everone's userid is--thus that's why I never quote anyone, I just remember names. Forgive me ?;)

Beth master the bike tonight. we took her to a park and let her go. She just rode and rode. I am over the moon with excitement. Tim is going to help me post some more pictures on the web so I will show you her tan.

Tessa- if gas is so expensive how on earth do they pay for TOP GEAR. Loving the new season.

Ok, I just called Children's; we got the 7:30am slot for surgery. It's the first one of the day, so I'm happy about that. Not so happy about the fact that I will have to leave by 5:15 in the morning to get there by 6. They want you there an hour and a half early - hurry up so you can wait! At least, Amanda won't have to wait around all day waiting to eat again; she can't have any food after midnight tonite!

Hey Cammie - glad Amanda got the early surgery time!

:snooty: *Ahem*, I called because SOMEBODY EMAILED me her NUMBER a while back when we were talking about us coming to FL in May :snooty: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: Oh, I loved it - just like talking to my old buddy -but without the typos! :lmao: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Cammie - SO VERY GLAD! That early time slot will be a PITA to get there, but that is better than later in the day. She won't get pushed back because they are running behind, etc! So ideally, she should be done by - what 10 am? That is really good. That way you will have more time with her before you go home to sleep Tues! :)

EBAY UPDATE* Remember my oopsie - where I won two of the same thing. I put one up for auction - and it just closed. I sold it for $5 less than I paid for the two combined!!! :woohoo: So now I have a $100 cartridge that I was only out $5 (shipping and all) for! :woohoo:

I just saw the Dreams come True cartridge for $15 at Walmart on clearance - had been $45. I think that's the name - Disney Princesses? :confused3 There were alot of cartridges there, and some other hand crank cutting machines. I never noticed those before.

Yeah I'm glad the surprise package arrived. We too will have her in our prayers. I hate having to get the kids up that early but it will be good so she can eat sooner.

Jillian--totally feel for you with mr. carlos. I am hoping your book will wow him of if all else fails we all could call him and talk him in to going.:lmao: :rotfl2:

BTW I did the same thing with some scrapbook pages a while back. I wanted to get girl CM pages. When I left I bought both boy and girl pages. I used the girl for beth so I need ed to trade the boys for Katherine. Dummy bid on 2 different sets. I came out ahead though. Now I just stay away from there until I have time to focus on what I am bidding on.

I think Debbie said they will have another long weekend at the lake.

Off to make dinner. It is hot here again. I am attempting pizza on the grill. I have my stone on the grates and will put the pizza on that. I have done margerita pizza on the grates and it works but never tried regular crust so I'll let you know what happens. I love grill cooking when it is hot. It's my version of the outdoor kitchen :)

We love cooking pizza out on the grill! We have Papa Murphy's take n bake here. Lots cheaper than already baked pizza! :thumbsup2

Laura - Wow him - I dunno about that. It is an uphill battle, that is for sure. I just honestly thing the BW area and the BC would "WOW" him much more than the Poly. He kicks and screams about doing things like this - but I tell you what, he'll never admit it, but I've seen that man with tears in his eyes at many things we have done with the kids. All it takes to start it up is seeing the kids really happy. I think after one visit, he'll be hooked. Or so I hope anyway!

I've got a wicked headache today. I"m sleepy too. I have so much to do, but I want no part of any of it. I just want to go to bed.... Only four more hours :cheer2:

Hope everyone is doing good today! :flower3:

Get some rest!

Do NOT make the peanut chicken! Very bland - blech! There was no sauce, so it was kinda dry, and then the rice was, well, rice. Very uneventful!

See? I told you I'm no Martha!

Thanks for the warning, Martha!

Sorry gang here I am back again. It was DD6's birthday party and we've been crazy all weekend. Then my laptop has been down for a few days with no internet access. Hopefully my tech guy will be able to fix it this week.

Took the girls to the park down at Newport, RI to fly kites today (my friend who watches the girls was home with her daughter sick - YIKES there's a flu going around) The girls had so much fun flying their kites, seeing the waves and the mansions. They both wanted to go into the mansions, but I knew better.

Well we're watching the HSM picture this so I have to get off and watch.

Have a great night!!

Nice to see you Tina.

How fun Beth learned to ride her bike! Summer is a great season, isn't it?

Laura, we don't have a whole lot of nat gas in FL, but LP gas has risen dramatically too! Last year we paid $14 for a 20lb tank refill, now it's $18! And because LP is heavier than NG, it doesn't last as long. I wish we had NG here, I would have had the back porch piped for it for the grill. But we have absolutely no appliances that are gas, even the hot water heater is electric and I hate it! Our electric bill is outrageous down here!!!

How awesome that Beth learned to ride a bike!!! We bought Ally a new one for her 7th bday, but she's afraid of it! We refuse to put the training wheels on this one, so she won't even try. I'm not sure what to do!!! :confused3

Tina, we're all watching HSM get in the picture, too! I really like the one gal, Tierney? Or something like that. It's the only reality show that we feel Ally can watch with us! We laugh at the judges and say, "Paula, Randy and Simon they ain't!" :rotfl2: Tina, can you pm me your email address and home adress info if you want to? Debbie has made a list of everyone on this thread.

Jillian, I do hope all goes well with baby #2 - so glad that Badookie was a pleasant "surprise." And just think of all the fun you get to have trying! ;)

Renee, hope you're feeling better! :flower3: I'll try to email you those window pics later today!

Hey Tammie!

Well, Amanda should be in the midst of surgery right about now. Would y'all like me to call Cammie this afternoon and check status? Then I can report back?

Erin, Tessa, Pam(s), Debbie - come out come out wherever you are!!!!

Hiya -

I am still here, just a bit overwhelmed by having the girls home 24/7!!

Yesterday was library and park... today into town spending and banking birthday money etc, then water pistol fights, then Bee Movie (with some microwave popcorn we smuggled out of the US (shhhh - corn is probably a prohibited foodstuff...) - they're watching it now so I can go online.....

Laura - they pay for top Gear with MY money!!!! In the UK we HAVE to pay for a TV license - a license to pick up TV programs - on your own TV!! This money goes to the BBC to pay for programming, promotion and infrastructure - one big advantage is BBC channels CANNOT carry advertisements, so no "words from our sponsor" etc....

Anyhow, it costs every household with a TV about £130 ($260ish) per year for the privilege of receiving TV - that's before you pay for any subscription service (we pay out around $70 per month for Sky satellite service).

Got to go top up the popcorn!! Cammie - hope things are going well, my thoughts are with you.....

Tessa

Hey - I emailed everyone. I just got back in from taking my mom to her vet. Very interesting story there.

However, I knew I'd be out of pocket most of the morning so I texted Cammie. She sent one back saying that Amanda was doing well. She came through okay and is resting comfortably now. :goodvibes

Knew you guys would all be curious. I've not read the board yet - so I'm not sure if someone else has already posted an update or not.

my pizza turned out great. I used the good old betty crocker cookbook. I heated the grill to high and put the pampered chef stone in there to heat up.

Beth master the bike tonight.Yay for BETH! I bet you were proud!!!

.

I just saw the Dreams come True cartridge for $15 at Walmart on clearance - had been $45. I think that's the name - Disney Princesses? :confused3 There were alot of cartridges there, and some other hand crank cutting machines. I never noticed those before.?
Wow Tammie - that is a steal. I hardly ever go to WalMart. It is just a drive from here, but I might have to see what deals they have at ours! That is quite the bargin!

Renee, hope you're feeling better! :flower3: !
I think that it is seriously the house! I know that sounds super parinoid, but I think it just needs a good airing out. We were outside last week all week - and both of us were doing great. Inside this week, and both Nicolas and I are having issues. Mia - no issue. Wondering if it is because she sleeps with a HEPA filter on for noise. Nicolas has one, but hates the noise so he turns it off. I'm thinking of going out and buying a quite one and giving it a shot. I dont' know what to do, but I do honestly think it is the house.

Bee Movie (with some microwave popcorn we smuggled out of the US
What popcorn do we have that is smuggle worthy? I don't know if I've found it yet. :rotfl2: Although, I'm a sucker for the popcorn you pop on top of the stove with homemade melted butter. UMMM. Nothing says "Grandma" to me more than that. She made it for me all the time. :goodvibes

From 10-2 I dealt with my mom & the vet. I needed to take the car to be serviced and she can't find the time to drop me off there - but she sure can find the time when it is something she wants to do. I mentioned that the kids really didn't do great today and I can't handle that big of an activity that runs through a nap, lunch and the beginning of another nap. I hope she got the point. If not, I may have to grow some (uh hum) before her appointment next month because I can't keep that up - it isn't fair to the kids.

Okay, thanks for letting me vent. I'm suprised the computer hasn't already crashed. It is having such issues here lately! It may be time to look at a new one soon.

Laura - I've never had pampered chef stuff until last fall. I got a chiller dish that I absolutely love. I had been eyeing the pizza stone. How do you like it? :confused3

Guess I wasn't that clear - DM got a new dog, so she wanted me to drive her to the appointment. She could have done it herself, but #1 she doesn't LIKE to drive and #2, she is using a vet that took care of my dog in the past. It was really a hard day, sitting on the same bench I sat on when we had to put her to sleep. Not nice.

Renee, it did sound funny, "I took my mom to the vet today...." :rotfl2:

Thanx for the update on Amanda!

I've got dinner in the oven. Let's see how this turns out. I made a Lasagna. Nicolas won't eat Ricotta, so DSIL told me to try to process the eggs with small curd cottage cheese. I hope it works - because the result looked an awful lot like guess what - RICOTTA. Oh well - at least he ate a big lunch.

I'm being a bad mommy. I've got stuff I really need to get done tomorrow - like kids haircuts, etc. I'm thinking of skipping a swim lesson. There is no air conditioning in there so it is super humid and hot - and I really could use the time to get some errands done and make sure little Miss gets a proper nap.

So how did the lasagna turn out? Jeff's grandmother was 100% Italian and didn't use ricotta. Not sure what she used, but because Jeff's dad doesn't like ricotta either, she always made it with something else. That is one thing Jeff has never been able to make, lasagna.

Just ran to the library and then to the grocery store. I swear, Publix is awesome. They had some Bertolli olive oil on sale 2 for 1, but they were out, so I picked up another kind of Bertolli, the kind we use actually, and asked them if they would honor that as 2 for 1 since they were out of the other (which I wouldn't have bought cause it wasn't extra virgin) or give me a rain check. They honored the one I had!!! AND they ran back to get the second one for me. Just goes to show that it never hurts to ask - same thing with Amanda's balloons. I wasn't happy, I called, they are delivering more on Friday.

Something else happened yesterday where I asked, assuming my request wouldn't be honored, and it was! Can't remember what it was though, but apparently I"m on a roll!

More storms rolling in..... this is getting kinda boring.

Walked in from the store and the outdoor kitchen guys were sitting on my patio discussing the plans. They will start on Thursday! :cool1: Friday will mark 8 weeks since we gave them our deposit. It was supposed to be a 4-6 week project. I'm not sure which calendar they are reading, but it's not the same as mine!!!

OK, off to finish dinner with Ally - she's making me macaroni and cheese for dinner!

Kara- Home improvement is never on time. I always add another 4 weeks from when they tell me. Baby dancing is always fun. ;)

Renee- Thank you for updating us on Amanda. I was thinking about that all day. By the way I wouldn't call you a bad mom if it is hot you don't want the kids to get overheated. That can happen even while in water. Go run your errands buy them a fun treat and tada you are all set.

Laura -Woo Hoo  on the bike riding. I think it is so awsome when they accomplish something new. I love there faces

Tammie- You are always so busy. I wish I had your energy.

Tessa- My sister is home and calls me and tells me how bored she is then when you ask her if she wants to do something 1st she asks what and then says no. Typical 14 YO

Well I haven't even thought about Disney plans in a while I only have ADR's booked. I am now thinking of changing 'Ohana because of really bad reviews Maybe we will go with Kona? I am not sure what to do:confused:

Also I bought things to make luggage tags today and when will I have the time to do it?

I love my Pampered Chef products. I am not allowed to buy any more. I had the entire catalog at one point. I strongly considered being a consultant. The pizza stone is great. It is a pain to clean but works great at evening out the heat in my oven. I really don't use it to cook on, except for the grill.

Gotta run.......

Actually, I thought it was one of the best I have eaten. My SIL is Italian too. Both her parents (they own a Deli), grandparents. So the first time I asked her how to make it - she starts with, "Go out to the garden and get your tomatoes - or use some that you have already canned". I was eating something and I sware it almost flew out of my mouth from me laughing so hard. :lmao: THEN she laughs and says, "Oh, I forgot. Just buy the stuff in a can, it will be just as good" :rotfl2: She has that little faith in me! :thumbsup2 She suggested first to go to an italian deli and get dry ricotta since he didn't like normal ricotta - she said it is different :confused3 We don't have one here, so then she suggested using the same amount of small curd and blending it in a food processor with the eggs and some basil, garlic, salt, etc. It honestly looked like Ricotta - but had a milder taste and the texture was much smoother. Nicolas deamed it YUCKY on first sight so it was dead in the water with him. He is so picky. Mia will eat real Lasagna made with sausage. Funny how different they are. BUt overall, I really liked it. I made it with the no boil Barilla noodles this time. First time using those. The directions said 2 jars of sauce - Carla warned me to use twice that much and she was right - those noodles do suck up the sauce. It was pretty good if I do say so myself.

How was Ally's Mac-n-Cheese?

Renee- Thank you for updating us on Amanda. I was thinking about that all day. By the way I wouldn't call you a bad mom if it is hot you don't want the kids to get overheated. That can happen even while in water. Go run your errands buy them a fun treat and tada you are all set.

You know, me too. I have the best of intentions when the kids go to bed, but then it is always something or I"m too tired.

Carlos guilted me into taking him to swim class anyway. I guess I should. There are only 3 left this time. :dance3: I just hate we will get so hot waiting on him. At least it is only for 30 minutes!

Funny - I thought that Ohana got really good reviews when I was reading the food stuff before we left. Everyone loved it for the most part. I have heard really good things about Kona too. I don't know - I haven't been to either, but I don't really think you could go wrong at either place!

I've got more projects that i want to do than I can get done. I'm exhausted all the time. UGHHH! That beach trip of ours can't get here soon enough. Don't get me wrong, I love Disney, but I'm one happy gal on the beach with a cool refreshing beverage, a new pedi, and watching my boys play in the water. :cloud9:

So is it worth it to get to cook pizza on in the oven or just use a pizza pan? :confused3 I doubt I'd cook pizza on the grill with it.

Hey - what is going on with work? Has it gotten better? Are you still working at the flower place too?

i'm still here. Trying my bestto fly under the radar. Things are exactly the same. I am just bidding my time. Tim has something lined up and if it comes thru at the pay he wants it to I may get to leave. who knows. those things are always up in the air.

I'd buy the stone if you have an electric oven. It works great as an equalizer otherwise I'd skip it. Too much work to clean.

I totally understand the being too busy thing. Like I told Cammie I just start projects to distract myself from doing the things I was supposed to be doing

I don't have that much energy - I just run til I drop, rest a bit and then get up and run again! :lmao: Those two babies wore me out today. Londynn cried all day - her teething is getting her - and Mason wasn't happy about being left, and didn't want to share my lap with Londynn. I am drinking a glass of wine right now, cuz I deserve it.

Oh, I think this is what I do!!! Makes a lot of sense! And that could explain why I have 1/2 finished projects everywhere!!!

I am drinking a glass of wine right now, cuz I deserve it.

Why, yes, yes you do!!! :thumbsup2

Renee - I seriously want that lasagna recipe!!! I could really impress Jeff if I made lasagna for him that was even 1/2 as good as his grandmothers!

Yummy mac n cheese last night. I ate almost the entire box!!! :scared1: But it's been forever since I"ve had it, so I don't feel too guilty.

Then went to the library. I'm hooked on James Patterson right now. And Douglas Preston. I get stuck on an author and I read everything they've written before I more on! I'm a liitle OCD that way... :rolleyes1

I'll check with y'all later, until then, Happy Hump Day!!!
