HI Girls!! CRAZY day!! Never sat down except to eat once! Oh...and for my lovely pedicure!!!

We are leaving for the airport at 2 tomorrow so I think I will be able to check in one more time!!

THANK YOU again for all the birthday wishes!! Really meant a lot to me!!!

Still packing.....
Tammie...you sure know me!

Have a good trip Debbie!!

Speaking of Alvin & the Chipmunks..have a cute story for everyone.

My DD(almost 5) was spending the night at her very best friend's(and my friend's) house. Now my friend and her DH like to sleep in on weekends. Well, at 6:30am the DH yelled over to his DD.."Virginia, do you know the words to Alvin & The Chipmunks Theme Song?" And she said "No." His reply..."McKenna does!" Apparently my DD got up at the crack of dawn, went into their room and in a high pitch voice (like the Chipmunks) started singing the theme song. to them :rotfl:

Pam - cute Chipmunk story! We love us some chipmunks around here - I love Alvin and Ally has always been a big fan of Chip n Dale. In fact, I told her that I named her Ally cause it was kinda like Alvin (she believed me!). Oh, the way we torment our children.

She did great getting her filling yesterday. I didn't even go back with her. When they called her name, I got my stuff to go with her and asked the assistant if I should wait outside. She said that would probably be a good idea. I had a feeling. She even got a novacaine shot and didn't realize it so they did a good job with her.

Now today is her ENT appointment. I had a dream last night that they said no swimming for 5 more weeks! Now that WOULD be a nightmare!

Jeff played golf at the TPC at Sawgrass yesterday - about 40 minutes away. We missed the PGA tournament there when we were in Disney. He came home like a little kid - the 17th hole at Sawgrass is supposedly the most photographed hole in golf, with an island green and Jeff parred that hole. Although his drive landed 6 ft from the hole and he missed that putt for birdie - he was pretty bummed about that. He said he would have loved to say he birdied the 17th at Sawgrass! There was another hole, a par 5, and he was on the green in two - the caddie told him that in his 4 years as a caddie there he had only seen 2 or 3 others reach that green in 2 shots. So Jeff was feeling pretty proud. I just wish he had taken the camera!

I just got all my stuff from Disney for both of our upcoming stays! I just love seeing any mail from Disney!!!

Debbie - have a great trip! Wave when you look out your window over Jacksonville! and I'll wave back! We'll miss you next week - but you'd better take lots of pics for us!!!!

Quiet day yesterday, where were you guys? This is unacceptable behavior for CFWW! :rotfl:

OK, off to do some work - I'll catch y'all later!

Jillian - did you see the Mulan and horse design that Natalie added?

Yippee! I just booked 1900 Park Fare for Ally and I for dinner in November. I think that is the only ADR I'll make for that trip since it's just 2 nights. We'll just grab counter service and snacks the rest of the trip. I think she'll really enjoy it! Now I need to get her a new dress (obviously Cinderella!!!!!) and practice on her hair so I can do my own BBB makeover! I still have the hair piece, although I think they're only $10 to buy so I may get a new one.

As much as I love going to Disney with Jeff, and I am excited about our anniversary trip in September, I'm REALLY excited to go with just Ally! I love our girls time alone, so this will be awesome!

Good morning - TGIF everybody!

Yeah on the ADR, Kara! You and Ally will have a great time together! I think it's so important for moms to bound with their daughters early. Special trips like this are so meaningful - hence my trip in 16 days with Lauren!

We were looking at some trip reports last night - saw some pictures of Epcot. We were so excited - can't believe we'll actually be there so soon! Lauren said to me that she didn't care if we don't get on all the rides we want to, she's just so excited to be walking around Disneyworld with just me! My baby!

Debbie - Have a great trip! Are you gone all week?

Hi to everyone!

Cammie - Lauren sounds so sweet! I totally agree that mom/daughter time is precious. And even though I hate that Ally is growing up so fast, I love that we are so close. I just pray that stays the same, especially during the teen years! Because quite frankly, high school scares the h*** out of me! Jeff and I were just talking about the bad things available when WE were in school and by today's standards, they're not so bad! I jokingly said, "I just hope all Ally does is smoke pot!" I know that sounds terrible, but you get my meaning. There's just so much scary stuff out there now!

Hi Girls....slept terrible and got up too early (for me at least). I realize now AGAIN why I am done having babies! I am at my WORST when I don't get good sleep. My stress level rises, my anxiety peaks, I am short with everyone...I just can't do it. In fact when I was younger I was the same. Never could pull the all nighter...
Oh well...lots to do today.
I am hoping that I can use my Aunt's computer while I am out there but it's her work computer so she might say no..who knows.
I am over packing as always...
I have the camera charged...

I am freaking out because storms are here and I am REALLY freaking out about all the airline talk. We will never see WDW if they quadruple the cost like they are saying. I have to say I am freaking out about it! If I can't vacation I will REALLY go into depression!

Good luck at the EMT Kara! OMG They must fix this and not ruin the summer. Come on they have to be reasonable, right?

Cammie I will come home real late NEXT Friday so hopefully I will see you guys on Saturday here.

My dream would be to just have my DD and Mom with me in WDW. That trip would be smooth sailing and so wonderful!

Did I mention that the Chicago weather is basically the same as Florida right now?

Next week calls for isolated thunderstorms in Naples and Scattered storms...is that really bad! We have three kids who CAN NOT be trapped inside all day!

Calm down Debbie! I have solved all your problems! "Isolated" means less of a chance than "scattered" storms. And you know Florida - maybe an hour in the afternoon. I was just reading that Florida is the lightning capital of the world, because of all the moisture from being a peninsula. And yes, I've been noticing that it is hotter in a lot of places right now. The good thing is that the humidity is still only in the 30's - 40's right now, so it's not unbearable down here.... yet.

And even if the airlines do quadruple fares, it's not totally out of the question to drive. Just stop for one night on the way. Mapquest says 18 hrs (which is more like 16 since we don't usually drive the speed limit). So 10 hrs the first day makes a nice easy 6 hr trip the second day. I know it would suck to be in the car with kids that long, but it is doable. Ya know? Or drive about 12 hrs the first day and spend the night with me!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 We love company!

Have a wonderful trip and don't forget the sunscreen!!!

That's what I was hoping for! Thanks for your input there! Keep checking on me.

The thought of driving is unbearable to me right now!

Hi everyone! Debbie, take a deep breath! Okay, now take another one! Don't worry about a future trip, just enjoy this one for now. I think they will have to find some way for the airlines to make it - no one is going to fly if they quadruple the prices. At least you are that close - it's 12 hrs for us to DL - we usually drive. It would take us 5 days to drive to WDW! :scared1:

Kara - for your ADRs and your mother-daughter time!

Cammie, your Lauren sounds so sweet. It is great that you are making this time just for her - she is such a great sister, she derserves it! :lovestruc

Have a great Friday, everyone!

So here are my Joanne fabric finds.
IMG_0652.jpg

I can't wait to get started. The brown, yellow, blue and white with cherry fabrics I got 1 1/2 yards for $4. I'm making shorts with those fabrics. I already made capris out of the blue fabric with the stars. The blue fabric with the cherries and daisies will be pjs and the fireworks will be shorts. DD8 can't decide if she wants a sunshirt or shorts out of the pink and purple fabric, but it wil be cute. Just more things to add to my to-do list!

Tina - cute fabrics. Do you applique, too? I'd love to try that, but I just don't think I have it in me, kwim? I'm very creative in some ways, but don't know how I'd do with that.

You ladies are sooo quick!!! I can't remember who had what, who's in pain, who's going where and when? I am going soo batty! SO...if I screw anything up..please forgive me. :)

Cammie....are you getting excited about your trip? I know we are!!! Although 3 of us have some illness..it may be strep. DD5 just came down with it today so the last person to get it DH. Hope he gets it soon so we are all good by the time we leave! I'm sure you're excited to have your friend move back to othe US.

Kara...love the designs!!! Are you making the designs or are you asking the very nice people over at the creative DIS board? I really want to learn how to do that!

Tammie....how are those grand babies? Any recent trips?

Ahibird....How are you?!!!

Lisa....How are you? How's your mom doing?

Debbie....Haven't had much sleep here either. Two nights in a row, plus I am sick and well as you know Moms aren't allowed to be sick (unless we're throwing up). My anxiety is kicking in as well about the airlines. They are cutting jobs and flights and it concerns me about safety issues and long lines as well. Thanksfully, I booked my flight in February and we only paid $54 down and $54 for the return trip. If we drove gas would costs us more.

Tina...my MIL loves fabric and fabric stores. She's big into quilts and sewing in general. What Gymboree is to me (or Macys, etc.) Calico Corners, JoAnns, etc. is to her.

And to mention storms..we had some that came from Debbie's way down to us. A tornado or 2 touched down, and there was a lot of high winds. Luckily now trees on our house this time. BTDT before and don't want to do that again! My DD12 is destined to be a meteorologist. She learned to read and interpret the Doppler radar 3-4 years ago.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ok - first Kara is making her own taco seasoning. Now we've got Tina making her kids clothes.

God, I feel like such a loser!

OOOhhh...have to ask you other moms out there....about Strep. DD only ever had it once in 1st grade. (She's in 6th now) DD12 has had a sore throat, headache, tired, stuffy, but also runny nose and a fever for 6-7 days. At first it was hard to swallow, and still alittle bit, Fever is gone. Neither of us have white patches on the back of our throat, just red. Normally, I treat most things as a virus because that's what they usually are. Do you think it's about time I take her to be seen by a Dr.? I guess if they test her for strep then I'll know that we probably have it too. She is going to hate me for it though. Last time, they literally had to PIN her down to get the swab culture.

I know driving to WDW is in my future someday; don't know how many more years I'll be able to manage the whole airport thing with Amanda. Lord knows, how long it would take me though!

I agree with Tammie though; I can't see the airlines actually quadrupling prices - no one would be flying! But I'm sure tickets prices will be higher than what we'd be comfortable paying. That's why I'm glad I haven't touched my Amex reward pts. I keep saving them for a rainy day - may just need them to pay for 2009's trip! So relieved I already booked our tix for our Nov. trip - only paid $234 rt for each ticket. For once, I made the right move!

Shopping can be creative too!!! I know I am good at that! :rotfl: Honey, even my DH can sew a button and I can't.

Everytime Lauren would have a sore throat and a fever, I took her in and the doc would do the strep test. And, yes, she had to be held down also - hates that culture. But it never came back positive. Does your DD still have the sore throat? I would say, with your trip just about 2 weeks away, better to be safe than sorry.
