Here's the latest. Jeff's sister has sent us a 1st bday invitation and a christening invitation for her son for the weekend before Ally starts school. The bday party is Saturday night and the christening is Sunday at 10:30am. It's an 8 hr drive for us, so we leave at 5 on Friday, get in at 1am. Then Sunday we would have to leave no later than 11:30am. It's just not worth it. Jeff feels guilty if we don't go, but I'm not gonna have Ally in a car all day Sunday, getting in late the day before school starts. Not to mention, I'm a firm believer that you reap what you sow, and she should not be rewarded by bad behavior, i.e. why should we go up there when she's such a b!tch? Know what I mean?
Oh, Cammie those pics look soooooo good! I wanna go NOW!!! And for you my dear.....
We're heading to Clearwater in two weeks to use Jeff's Hilton Honors points he accumulated when he was living here for 4 months before we moved down. We're staying oceanfront for 2 nights.... FREE!

Our only expense will be gas, food, and kennel for Bucky. We tried to find an Embassy Suites so we could do breakfast and lunch in the room, but no luck. Yeah, we're all about cheap this summer.
Then his parents called to say they'll be down the weekend after that. We may let them take Ally back for the week, and then the following weekend we'll meet them halfway to pick her up. Get this, it's a 6 hr drive and they're coming down for two nights. Crazy. They are retired so we keep telling them to come down for 4 or 5 nights but they won't do it and I think the reason is because Jeff's sister lives 4 hrs away and they only do 1 or 2 nights there, too. But FIL has admitted that he would rather spend time with us anyway, but MIL feels guilty if she doesn't make it "equal." Hmmm, wonder who brings that on??? Jeff's sister is so jealous of her parents relationship with Ally. No offense, but it's only natural since she's their first grandchild.
My sister's daughter is the "favorite" of my parents and I totally understand. When I say favorite, it's not really that, but there is a special bond. Plus, ever since Ally was born, we have lived within 15 minutes of Jeff's parents, so naturally they saw her more, plus we stayed with them for 2 months (oy vey!) when we sold our first house and couldn't find another one!
I told Jeff maybe we can go up for Easter to see his sister next year. I always get Good Friday off, so we could have an early Easter dinner, more of a brunch, and then get on the road by 1 and be home by 9. We'll see.
