Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

My summer scent this year is Sun n Sand from Yankee Candle - I have it burning in my office right now. AND I bought all the plug in scents from there and matched it up with Bath and Body Works' Sea Island Cotton. They complement each other so well, plus I bought the sea island cotton before we went to Disney so everytime I lather up in the shower, or put on the lotion, it takes me back....... ahhhhh!

Cammie, I know what you mean about the party, but we missed their first child's christening, and Jeff is the God father! They planned it on a weekend when he had to go to Orlando for the Enterprise managers meeting - it is MANDATORY! His sister was sooooo pissed at him, like he had a choice! And I wasn't about to drive 4 hours, with Ally, who was about 3 at the time, and a dog, and check into a hotel, for one night. Stupid. So they got all pissy about it. Now we're twice as far away and I know it's going to turn into all this drama. I'm out. I already told Jeff that he can go, but Ally and I are out. But I'm sure this isn't over, not by a long shot!

just catching up on the latest ...off to the park for a play date. I will have to sit down and really read sometime in the near future. Plus I will have to share the "blow out" Tim and I had on date night. I do love him but man he drives me nuts!

Laura - Sorry to hear about your date night. Hope it had a happy ending though!:goodvibes

Kara - The way I look at it, someone in your family is always going to be pissed at you about something; can't change that fact so just focus on keeping the people who live in YOUR house the happiest. That's my philosphy and I'm sticking to it!:thumbsup2

Okay, so I am posting this first and then catching up on the new posts - but I did notice I have some amazing pics to look over! YAY!

So we are at swim lessons. Start talking to a mom. She is from FL. They are DVC memebers at a condo that is the Poly's (never heard of that one, but okay). She's never been in May but said that the "SPRING" break crowds are still too large for May to be a good choice - that OCT is the perfect time of year. Here goes the Oct thing again.

So far, I've had two FL transplants, Cammie & Kara both tell me they would pick that one. BUT I WANT TO GO NOW! DO YOU REALIZE HOW LONG A YEAR AND A HALF IS TO A GROWN WOMAN - (uh, I mean small child! :lmao: ) SO, I come before my friends and say, tell me honestly, HONESTLY, should I revise this whole May thing?

TRIP FACT: Early Risers, up for breakfast, do park until lunch. In resort by 1. Nap Mia/Pool Nicolas, go to dinner - ideally 5 ish. Go to parks until 8 or so.

May
Pro: SOONER, Close to Anniversary, Nicolas' Birthday, Could use $200 SW credit for flights, Con: Could be hot, could have crowds

OCT
Pro: Lighter Crowds CON: Weather (could rain more), Longer time to wait.

 I don't know what to do!!!

SO- her is a confession - and I'm sure you will see why I think it DOESN"T count. Remember that time we went to Orlando in Epcot? Well, we spent a morning at the Sharaton Vista or something time share - and they gave us 2 disney tickets. We finished there at like 1, and went to EPCOT. We were there for an hour and half. KNEW NOTHING about Disney or how to do things. We quickly walked through the Living Seas, Test Track just opened, we walked onto it (at 1:30 pm), did that thing in the ball, and quickly walked around the world showcase, and stopped in China for that movie. That was it. Boom - out in 1 1/2 hours because we were so tired. So #1 that is part of Carlos' "whatever" attitude - and to be honest, I thought it sucked too.

But I say all this to say - it was SOOOOO empty there. No lines at all - even for newly opened Test Track, so I do get that. It was hot as H*ll though, don't know if that is typical or not, but it was HOT!

So now, I'm like, if we need to do OCT - why not do it this year -and then I'm like, well, we'd have to cancil the condo at the beach in Sept - but at $280 a night, that would be almost like a Deluxe (Carlos loves my "enron accounting practices") BUT I really want to make ADRs at the 90 day window, and there is NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY I can ease him into all the decision that I would need NOW without making him mad.

DEEP BREATH! HELLLLLP, I really don't know what to do!

May. I still like May. Spring Break is long over by then. We've done it 3 times now and only had one rain shower (out of 20 days total!). Hot? Eh. Upper 80s to low 90s. Stick to the first week in May and you should be fine. I've never been in Oct, but I know that is still hurricane season......

You can't get the deals we use to be able to get back then, stay for 8 day and pay for 5 - one year we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the price of a value resort. The good old days..
What a deal! GOOD FOR YOU. Where are those pictures at? HUMMMM???? :rotfl:

RENEE - keep the pictures coming!! You've made my Monday morning a good one so far!! :thumbsup2

I'm off to work ladies - have lovely day!!:dance3:
You too!

Good morning!Well, someone was up late last night enjoying some DVC pix! (Renee?)Yeah, I have this amazing Buddy who sent me that link. I was up drooling into the wee hours (10 pm! :lmao: )

And, if you're looking at getting a 1bdrm. villa (comes w/kitchen, washer/dryer and living rm. area w/pullout), they may be a little pricey; that's why so many choose to rent from a DVC member instead. Check out this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1669863.
Bookmarked, and will do. I would love to get a villa, but honestly, there is no way finacially we would/could do that. A little bit much.

Ok, busy day today. Need to hit the party supply store; bike store; order a cake for Sat.; and try to dig out some water toys. Looks like it may be really hot next weekend and I'm thinking I may need some water games to keep the kids outside. Times like this I really wish I had a pool!
2.gif
Good luck with the party planning - remember, the best water toy - a good ole sprinkler. I sware, I set up a waterpark in our backyard and that is what the kids flock to.

IIf Carlos didn't like the way everything was spread out at CSR, then there is no way he'd enjoy a value resort. Hum... I'm adding that to my book - seriously, I never considered that angle (duh) but that is a good one! :thumbsup2
Oh, and a little sumpin sumpin for Carlos!
:cool1: Oh yea!

My neighbors are leaving for Disney on Friday and she asked me to help plan the trip - WTH??? :sad2:
QUOTE]still waiting to hear if she got the foam finger.....:confused3

Oh Renee...........

[I'm done for now. Renee, go to pg.28 of the DVC pix thread; someone posted various shots of SAB. They're a little small but it may give you a good idea!
!
Love it - and got the threads bookmarked!!!!! THANK YOU!

Here's the latest. Jeff's sister has sent us a 1st bday invitation and a christening invitation for her son for the weekend before Ally starts school. She is just little miss selfish all the way around, isn't she?
drink.jpg
AND A BIG THANK YOU FROM ME! Carlos will love the Beer one, but this one - oh yeah!

We're heading to Clearwater in two weeks to use Jeff's Hilton Honors points he accumulated when he was living here for 4 months before we moved down. We're staying oceanfront for 2 nights.... FREE!
:cool1: GO Kara, Go Kara:cool1:
.

Plus I will have to share the "blow out" Tim and I had on date night. I do love him but man he drives me nuts!
Sorry to hear that. The Cosmos must have been off, everyone's guy was acting up this weekend around here!

:cool1: I agree completely :thumbsup2

Think that Easter being just two weeks before it will cause it to be more crowded?

Guess which section is going to be the first or the last in my book - haven't decided yet, but I'm really pushing this bad boy...

I'm happy to report I informed Carlos of the pitch book. Now - weither it is the nerd in him liking the idea, or if he likes the idea that he is having so much input, or whatever, he is EXCITED about seeing it - told me to even make sure I do it in PowerPoint! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kara, I see what you mean about CSR...

And for Jillian...

SO. just curious about crowd levels. I thought they weren't too bad when we were there in April, but for the Pool at 7pm, we had double this amount - so is that normal, high crowd or what?
P1000380.jpg

Yea for Carlos!!!! Maybe he just likes colorful pictures. Ya know, they really are like babies. Pretty colors, moving shapes, and ****s! :rotfl2:

YES, Ally got the foam finger!!!!! :thumbsup2 And there was a photog from the Jacksonville newspaper who got pics of all the kids and posted on the Jacksonville website!

I can't believe it blanked out that word! Think mammary glands! But c'mon, I used the G rated word! OK, maybe PG, but still.....

Jeff's car is still in the shop, so he takes mine to work, leaves me with the golf cart. So I can take Ally to/from camp, but if it's storming at 5pm, I can't get her! Men are so selfish!!!!! Yes, I think you're right, the planets just aren't lining up quite right. And I've had cranky customers today, too!

I seriously don't think that Easter in mid-April will affect the crowds in early May - here's why. May is so close to the end of the school year that people don't want to pull their kids out at that time. I have no problem at this age. I think that's why late Sept and early Oct are also low crowds.

And for what it's worth, I would think Oct might be busier because of MNSSHP? But I don't know.

As for Epcot - SHAME ON YOU!!!! I just don't think you gave it a chance. It's an awesome park!!! Cammie, where are you? I need your help here!

Think I got misunderstood here...:rotfl2:

We were too tired at that point after driving straight through for 13 hours and then getting up after 3 hours sleep (in that nasty Comfort Inn that was $35 a night for a big reason) worrying that the ants that were attacking our toothbrushes (which I had to lock in the safe to keep them away) that after getting up and listening to them trying to sell two broke people on a time share and saying no for 10000 times, and having to meet his brother in 3 hours - see what I mean? We were rushed, knew nothing about Disney, were tired anyway - so I say it is a do-over.

Since I've been chatting with you guys - I kinda see its value - but I think you can see why we didn't before.

Kara - so how far is Ally's camp? You could always do the TN thing and put a big black trash bag over your head and cut a face out! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And for what it's worth, I would think Oct might be busier because of MNSSHP? But I don't know.e!
I was thinking that with the Food & Wine (which I would assume is a bigger draw?) it would actually be busier. I actually read somewhere that :rolleyes1 Oct use to be less crowded than it is now because of the F&W fest and the MNSSHP. Now it isn't anymore.

Cammie - I think I am hating you right now! This is the view from BWV - NO WONDER YOU THINK IT IS AWESOME! Ps... need a stow away?????
SAB.jpg

Do we need to think about starting another post? I can't remember when they shut us down last time. Was it 250 pages or so many posts?

Kara - so how far is Ally's camp? You could always do the TN thing and put a big black trash bag over your head and cut a face out! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That isn't just a TN thing. I have seen that fashionable look at the MN state Fair for many years :lmao: :rotfl2:

OK, y'all are killin me! :rotfl2: Her camp is 2.1 miles from our house (yes, in our subdivision! it's a BIG subdivision!), so we're talking 4 miles round trip! See why the golf cart is actually a good investment? I do it twice a day, weather permitting, sometimes 3 times a day if I go to the pool. At twice a day, that's 8.5 miles, and my car gets 20 mpg, so in 5 days I take the cart 42.5 miles AT LEAST, throw on about 3 other trips, so we're talking about 55 miles a week. That's almost 3 gallons of gas at 4.00/gal. I'm saving $12/week!!!!
