When I stayed at AKL for my 40th I enjoyed it as well. Very cool but very removed.
More two sense!
Anyone need to see any pix?

I will post some pix for all of us missing our home away from home since Renee is already making her presentation and it is up to Carlos. Did you give Carlos my number yet?

Cammie - so enjoying that thread. Only one problem, boy am I biased and SOLD! Now, how to tamper with that pitch book!

Okay, I'm lifting someones pic on another thread to ask a question. Is that big twirly winding roller coaster looking thing part of the slide - or something else?

DH is downstairs hooping it up watching some pagent. WHATEVER. DRUNK! :rotfl:

Hey Cammie - I'm lifting that pic off your TR for my Pitch Book - the one of Lauren with the Paint/Choc Puzzle! :lmao: I think you said you got that originally via BC room service? Nicolas would die with glee! Seriously!

Hummm.... I think I'm going to arrange a little tank diving at the living seas too. For $75 I think you get an hour or two. He would love that. I will just take the kids to see the other stuff. He would LOVE That!

EXCELLLENT... the plot thickens.

I'll write a trip report. "How my Husband who hated Disney bought a DVC membership his first visit!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I'm in a silly mood tonight, maybe I should go to bed.

Tina you really do have self control. I cannot tell DH no when it comes to Disney. I am planning right along with him. :rolleyes1
.

Oh let truth be known -- I check the Disney site almost daily to see if there are any good discounts. If I could be at Disny within the hour and it was cheap enought I'd be there. You can't get the deals we use to be able to get back then, stay for 8 day and pay for 5 - one year we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the price of a value resort. The good old days..

DH really wants to go in August - our favorite time to go, but we've booked a camping trip and there's no going back.

RENEE - keep the pictures coming!! You've made my Monday morning a good one so far!!

I'm off to work ladies - have lovely day!!:dance3:

Good morning!

Tina - Off to work? Did you get that job at your friend's place? When do you ever rest woman?;)

Well, someone was up late last night enjoying some DVC pix! (Renee?)

That pic of the clown slide - that part on the right IS part of the water slide; not steep, just winding. I think the one at the beach club is longer. Now I have to go back into my pic files and see if I can find some up close pix of that slide for you Renee.

And, if you're looking at getting a 1bdrm. villa (comes w/kitchen, washer/dryer and living rm. area w/pullout), they may be a little pricey; that's why so many choose to rent from a DVC member instead. Check out this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1669863.

Ok, busy day today. Need to hit the party supply store; bike store; order a cake for Sat.; and try to dig out some water toys. Looks like it may be really hot next weekend and I'm thinking I may need some water games to keep the kids outside. Times like this I really wish I had a pool!

Renee, yes that "coaster looking thing" is the water slide at BW.

I agree with what everyone has said about your dad. Just do what you need to do for YOU, it will make it easier on you when he's gone someday, to know that you tried.

If Carlos didn't like the way everything was spread out at CSR, then there is no way he'd enjoy a value resort. Seriously. I think CSR is one of the prettiest themed resorts in all of Disney. Jeff and I both stayed there when we worked for Enterprise and they have their managers meeting there every year (5,000 twenty somethings running around like crazy!) and CSR is one of the resorts we stay at. We didn't get to enjoy it at the time, but we stopped there during one of our crazy transfers trying to get from HDDR to DTD, and Jeff and I agreed that we both had forgotten how nice it is. So I would do minimal work on the mods and values for Carlos. BEACH CLUB BEACH CLUB BEACH CLUB BEACH CLUB! I asked Jeff again which resort he would choose, money no object, if he could pick one resort with a family and he immediately chose BC.

Oh, and a little sumpin sumpin for Carlos!

Jillian, I, too, react like crazy whenever Ally hurts me (or the dog - someone has to fight for the poor dog! :rotfl: ) because she gets really upset when she thinks she has hurt us. It really did the trick back when she was biting, too.

Debbie, sure didn't take you long to whip out the pics! :rotfl2:

Tina, I"m like you - constantly checking for deals. I'm getting so antsy to go again, even though it's a short trip (4 days). I think that's just gonna make me even MORE antsy to go ont he next short trip (only 2 days!). Now I'm debating doing BBB again for Ally. She's begging me. I may just do the hair only and I can do her makeup for her.

My neighbors are leaving for Disney on Friday and she asked me to help plan the trip - WTH??? She booked BBB for her 4 year old, and they have a dinner at Akershus. That's it. But that may be all they want to do. He's got a business conference there so the GF gave them the business rate $240 for the whole week they are there. So I emailed her my "must dos" and a few tips and that's it. Think I'm gonna loan her a couple of our princess dresses, too.

OK, gotta run and shower and get Ally to camp - back in a bit to give you my latest SIL dilemma! And no, she still hasn't paid me!

Oh Renee...........

I'm done for now. Renee, go to pg.28 of the DVC pix thread; someone posted various shots of SAB. They're a little small but it may give you a good idea!

One more thing I'll look for - I know there's a "Pool picture thread"; I'll try to find it!

Here's the latest. Jeff's sister has sent us a 1st bday invitation and a christening invitation for her son for the weekend before Ally starts school. The bday party is Saturday night and the christening is Sunday at 10:30am. It's an 8 hr drive for us, so we leave at 5 on Friday, get in at 1am. Then Sunday we would have to leave no later than 11:30am. It's just not worth it. Jeff feels guilty if we don't go, but I'm not gonna have Ally in a car all day Sunday, getting in late the day before school starts. Not to mention, I'm a firm believer that you reap what you sow, and she should not be rewarded by bad behavior, i.e. why should we go up there when she's such a b!tch? Know what I mean?

Oh, Cammie those pics look soooooo good! I wanna go NOW!!! And for you my dear.....

We're heading to Clearwater in two weeks to use Jeff's Hilton Honors points he accumulated when he was living here for 4 months before we moved down. We're staying oceanfront for 2 nights.... FREE! Our only expense will be gas, food, and kennel for Bucky. We tried to find an Embassy Suites so we could do breakfast and lunch in the room, but no luck. Yeah, we're all about cheap this summer.

Then his parents called to say they'll be down the weekend after that. We may let them take Ally back for the week, and then the following weekend we'll meet them halfway to pick her up. Get this, it's a 6 hr drive and they're coming down for two nights. Crazy. They are retired so we keep telling them to come down for 4 or 5 nights but they won't do it and I think the reason is because Jeff's sister lives 4 hrs away and they only do 1 or 2 nights there, too. But FIL has admitted that he would rather spend time with us anyway, but MIL feels guilty if she doesn't make it "equal." Hmmm, wonder who brings that on??? Jeff's sister is so jealous of her parents relationship with Ally. No offense, but it's only natural since she's their first grandchild.

My sister's daughter is the "favorite" of my parents and I totally understand. When I say favorite, it's not really that, but there is a special bond. Plus, ever since Ally was born, we have lived within 15 minutes of Jeff's parents, so naturally they saw her more, plus we stayed with them for 2 months (oy vey!) when we sold our first house and couldn't find another one!

I told Jeff maybe we can go up for Easter to see his sister next year. I always get Good Friday off, so we could have an early Easter dinner, more of a brunch, and then get on the road by 1 and be home by 9. We'll see.

Kara - Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!:worship: :worship: :worship:

As for the christening - I totally agree with you! The best interests of your family is what you need to be concerned about.

I just had a similiar issue with my nephew's first birthday party. I knew my brother was going to have this big blowout and I would have loved to go. But they scheduled it for a sunday afternoon, this past June, from 1-5pm! First of all, it's a five hour drive for me; that's w/out traffic. Secondly, they have a small apartment so we couldn't stay with them - would have to get a hotel, which during the summer months could cost $150 a night. And third, the girls were still in school so I HAD to get home Sunday night so they wouldn't miss school on Monday. So I was looking at driving down five hours on Sat.; spending $150 for a hotel Sat. nite; going to the party on Sunday, then driving home 5 hours (w/Jersey shore traffic, I'm sure it would be more) Sunday night! No way! It's not like I expect party plans to be made to accommodate me - I don't. But when you plan something that you know would be such a HUGE inconvenience for someone, they don't get so upset when they decline to come! My brother and his wife were FURIOUS with me for not coming - thought I should spend the money on a hotel, have the girls miss school and do it all that driving - just for a party my nephew would never remember anyway! Well, I didn't go and I think they still hold a grudge, but oh well! I had to do what was right for me and my kids!

So, keep in my mind the part I bolded; if it really was that important for them to have you there, they could have planned it better!
