Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

YES!! Daytime was fantastic! Nice and warm, we wore shorts every day (well, I wore capris as me in shorts would cause blindness in those nearby) and then just brought a light coat to wear at night. Best part was that lines weren't terrible, and we were able to get a table at some nice meals when we arrived there instead of booking in advance. It was a short notice trip. ;)

Wow the oreo balls sound yummy
Thanks for the info, makes me feel a little bit better hahhaa

Tammie .. Happy Hump day right back at ya (us brits sure do love that) hahahha and Congrats on another Grandbaby

Hi Laura....Lydia...
I really feel lost! Have to sit and read but can't yet. I so wish it was easier to read on the dang phone! I could catch up while I am waiting around places!!!!

Big news!!! Ryan and Dana came over last night and we had a great time with Mason - DANA IS PREGNANT!!!!:banana::banana::banana: They tell me this will be my last grandbaby, so I hope I'll get to see this one more often!

So exciting!!! Congratulations!!!!
BTW I am STILL using my Airbonne products and I still love them! I guess I just stocked up enough!

Hey guys! Just popping in real quick - still at my sister's. Here until Friday. Just wanted to give you a quick update................
Amanda and Lauren's step-sister has arrived. Let the good time roll people!
Will update and chat more this weekend.

Wow! I feel like you just told us yesterday as well! Crazy days is right! Hang in there!

I bet you are about to disown me.

Things have been nuts here. Seriously one thing after another. We just got back in Monday. We'd been visiting family. All of us are sick. YUCK. I need to go back and see what has been going on with all of you!

But I did want to say hi and I have missed you guys. I got a "notification" that I should look at the specials during our stay. Seems like I could switch from BC to BWI for the same $. Anyone have any thoughts as to if one is better than the other when you are going with a friend?

I missed you!!!

I need to catch up still too!
Sorry Shelly I have to even figure out who you are! LOL

Great morning & afternoon then Mark came home and told me that work doesn't look good and that he wants to sell our BRAND NEW TRUCK! When it rains it pours.... You guys are going to have to commit me! I cried all night at the thought of going back to work. I know that sounds so spoiled but I cried....

Our thread is so happy and fun that I hate to be a downer so I won't lay it all on you guys here anymore after this but I did want you to know where Im at.

Jillian thanks for your post too and girls thanks for the hugs! I think this is as bad as it has ever been which means soon it can only get better right! I just need a plan so I feel better about everything.

ok here are the photos jillian was talking about....

That is where we are 70 feet from the river. Kids jump off these cliffs into the water below. BTW notice Tim's clothing choice, in WDW he was stopped several times asking if he was a photopass photographer.

Uggh! :headache:I typed a lengthy post (surprise!), and the internet froze up! It's not supposed to do that on a new computer. I need to find out what the problem is!

Debbie - Cheer up. You are right about things only being able to go up! We are here for you, and don't feel bad about venting. We all do, and all experience tough times in different ways. to you!

Laura - I love the pics! Your girls are precious, and your hubby does look like a PP photog in that outfit! Very outdoorsy!

Off to pick up band campers! I've already taken my bath! Whoo, hoo!

Hi Lorrie! If this bunch takes me back, they'll take anybody back!

Laura So cute! Thanks again for listening girls!

Hiya all -

Debbie - big hugs to you:grouphug: . I know what you mean about the back to work thing..... I was lucky I didn't have to get a full time job, but it still felt like a big wrench and major life change to be away from home only an hour and a half each day to earn money. But still, needs must and all....:confused3 as you say, when things are so low, the only place is up....

My girls are lying on my bed ( memory foam mattress so the most comfy in the house) playing on their Nintendo DS games right now... gave them some slack since they have been good this morning. I watched them brush each others' hair so tenderly, it was one of those real ahhhhhhhhh moments. Sometimes there is light amidst the storm- yesterday I was shouty mummy.... today all warm and fuzzy... so far..... Mum got home safe and sound and we have had sun and 70 degF since she left - just perfect really..

Tessa

Happy Thursday!!

Well another work week is almost over for me - FINALLY! I'm just counting the days down to my Disney trip and honestly not thinking about the hundred other things I should be thinking about. Last night I was so stressed out I couldn't figure out what to do so I went for a walk. I hated what I made for dinner, I didn't want to watch TV and DD10 was making me crazy on the computer and the phone - preteens - I'm not going to make it.

Tomorrow is a planned day at the beach, Saturday should be fun- we're going to see Toe Jam Puppet Band at the park here in town - love this group - very children folk art band. Maybe an afternoon at the pool and then Sunday will be family day. I'm hoping to get some iron-ons done in there somewhere, but we'll see.

Debbie - :grouphug: Just remember we're always here for you!

Kara - Hope Ally is feeling better.

Laura - I don't know how you didn't have a heart attack with your kids sitting on the edge like that. I would have been terrified.

Tessa - I think we all have those days. In one day DD7 got yelled at by me and then an hour later DH. She was having a tough day. At least at the end of the day I could crawl into bed with her and hug her to sleep.

The girls are off to Spring Lake for the day with camp, they'll come back exhausted - hmm, do you think it would be a good time to do some home schooling?? or fighting - what am I up for?

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I made oreo balls last night!!! Something nice since Ally's finger is turning purple, and so swollen! Poor baby!

But I made my trial run and these will be a new staple that I carry to parties, etc!!! So easy and so yummy! And they look awesome! I figure I could even cover with white chocolate and drizzle with red and green for Christmas!!!

Thank you for the recipe!!!

If you would like YOUR recipe to be featured on Kara's reply, please post recipe so I can try it out!! :rotfl2:

Happy Thursday! It's almost the weekend! :woohoo:I wish the weeks away, striving for the weekend, and shouldn't. Time goes fast enough! But, the weekends are the best!:yay:

Kara - Mail me some Oreo Balls! I want to make them, as Oreos and Chips Ahoy are my 2 fave cookies. Yum!

Tina - Good luck w/that pre-teen! (my girls are 16 and 11)

Tessa - Send me some 70F! 100F again here today. I am so done w/it.

Debbie - Smile!!!:)

Everyone else - Have a magical day!

Your welcome! I NEVER would have thought to change out the frosting colors! I'm stealing that idea for Christmas. Maybe I'll use the mint flavored oreos too. They look fancy with the icing on them, hehe. Deceptively delicious.

So I have a minor dilemma of sorts...I had my 30 week appt. today...so me being the planner that I am, asked if my OB knew when I'd have my scheduled c-section. He said that it's generally 1 week before my due date (October 18th) so sometime the week of 10/11. I asked if I had any say in the matter, and he laughed and said "it depends".

I told him I wanted to avoid the 13th, as that is my sons 2nd birthday.

So guess what dates he gave me to choose from!?! October 12th or October 14th. What a stinker!

Now I'm torn...do I pick the day BEFORE DS's birthday and then have to spend it in the hospital away from him, or do I pick the day AFTER his birthday and run the risk of potentially going into labor on his birthday?!

I really wanted DS and DD-to-be to have separate birthdays, but I guess I didn't even think about it being one day apart! I guess it doesn't even make a difference at that point, huh?!

So now - being that I'm crazy, I'm already worried about our 10/2010 trip to Disney. I'd hate to have a travel day on EITHER of the kids birthdays. But selfish me doesn't want to travel on my birthday (10/5) either. I already gave DH a heart attack when I said I wanted to go for 10 nights. He'll NEVER go for 11.:rotfl2: I'm thinking I'll have to say screw it and push the trip up a couple days so that we spend my birthday down there and the kids are too young to realize that it'll be their birthdays that are missed.

If this is the worst of my worries though, that's not a bad thing. :)

I vote for the day AFTER his bday so he doesn't feel like his day is taken away from him (although at 2, that probably isn't an issue), plus, as the older sibling, he can always claim his bday comes "first." :rotfl2: OR, have the csection on his bday that way nobody will ever get confused on whose birthday is which day!

Ally has a friend and she and her sister (one year older) have the same exact bday in July. What are the odds of that???? :confused3

Oh, and I've already got other ideas for these oreo balls (or cookies n cream truffles as I like to call them!;)) - white coating and pastel drizzles for Easter, red and blue drizzles for 4th of July, whtever colored drizzles apply for football season!!!! I may even shape them like footballs and dip in milk chocolate, then use the white to make the laces on the footballs! I think I will have fun with these!!!! It made sooooo many with just the one pack of knock off oreos (always saving $$$) that I sent about 3/4 of them to camp with Ally today. I'm sure the counselors will love me for sending in all that sugar for the kids!!! :lmao:

:eek::eek::eek:I love these ideas!! I am SO going to do the football version for this season. DH is already all about football...going to Buffalo Bills training camp and has already signed up for the Sunday Ticket on Directv.

EDIT: Another idea...for easter time...get the different colored chocolate wafers at Michaels and make easter egg looking balls with coordinating icing. YUM.

Kara it doesn't sound like you've given these Oreo balls much thought :rotfl:- is it safe to say that your party will have a variety of Oreo balls and a sprinkling of other food? LOL! I hear you though - for years all I ever brought was Congo Bars - they're like choco chip cookies but made with lots of brown sugar. They were easy to make and I would interchange different ingredients (marshmellows, choco chips, nuts) based on where we were going and then ice them based on the on the theme. Now that everyone is always on a diet the congo bars have faded to a memory. Now I bring melba chips and hummas!:confused3

Okay I have to stop looking at t-shirt designs on the creative Dis thread or I'll never decide what pictures to use as iron ons. I have an hour tonight to do some printing and I can't find a good Pluto or Belle that DD10 would like. DD7 is so easy she'll love anything I do. :cutie: I need to focus!

Enough about food already! JK. I am just getting hungry for lunch!:)

Tina - I couldn't find the Creative DISboard, with all of the transfer designs. Where is it? Thanks!

Found the DISign board under the Just for Fun. I usually don't scroll down past the WDW board, and I just forgot where it was!

OK, back to the oreo balls - I went to the pool to pick up Ally and I had lifeguards, the guy from the desk, the camp counselors, everyone coming up to me RAVING about them!!!

Seriously peeps, you've got to make these!!! I used a food processor to chop up the oreos (basically ground them up), then my mixer to mix up with the cream cheese. Piece of cake!!!!! The chocolate discs can be bought at any craft store in the candy making aisle. Sooooo good! And the premade icing that I bought this time does come in a bottle - just heat it up and decorate!!! Or you can make your own icing and make it a little thinner - put in a ziploc and snip off the corner to decorate that way. Or even buy another color of the chocolate discs and melt in ziploc. The zigzag looks so purty!!!!

Oh, and just to note - here's Ally's finger today. It actually looks a lot more "colorful" in person! But its not broken! Dr just concerned about the amount of blood in there - wanted to drain it but Ally freaked. He's worried about tissue damage so we're just gonna keep it iced and keep an eye on it.
