Looking for available dining discountsWe (a party of 13 or 3 seperate families) will be coming in June 06 for a grand gathering. My mom & dad are paying for the rooms and the park tickets. We were advised by Disney that because he used AAA to get discount on the rooms (3 in all at POR), we were unable to qualify for the dining plan. My annual pass has expired effective June 05 and have no need to renew until next year since the rooms and passes for this trip are taken care of. Therefore we are unable to get the DDE. Does anyone know of any loopholes for getting the DDE or any other kinds of discounts that might be out there that I dont know about? I definitely dont want my mom & dad to incur any more cost as they have difinitely spent alot already. (Their Christmas present to the family).

One other question: In lue of my parents doing this for all of us, we would like to repay them somehow. I have already booked them a room at the Beach club as this is where they have always wanted to stay, but never have, aside from that I would really like to send them to a really super nice dinner along with a spa package. Any suggestions?

If you booked through AAA you can get your AAA discount on the room and get the dining plan. I would call back.

No, we booked through Disney. I have since found out that we can get the dining plan if we book through AAA, but its a little late for that since trip is already planned through Disney...seems odd that Disney would honor the dining plan if we had gone through AAA, but wont since we went directly through them

AAA and Disney have a very special relationship. I think it is probably because AAA is getting added benefits for helping bring in new guests :confused3 have you already paid Disney? I could be wrong, but you may still be in your window to cancel with a full refund and book with AAA.

After you find out if you are still within the cancellation window, be sure to book the new trip, THEN cancel the old one.

Yes, everything is paid in full. But, we arent going until June so I definitely will be looking into transferring the ressie to AAA.

I am definitely going to take your advise about changing to AAA, I am a member so I wouldnt think it would be a problem...as long as Disney gives us a full refund Thank you sooo much for your help!!!
