Since Palios might be closed during our disney trip :( I'm looking for another italian restaurant alternative. how is Alfredo's?

We just got back and did dine at Alfredo's (for the 3rd time). My husband said he thought it was overrated - I have to agree. To tell you the truth, the best place we eat at was the Kona Cafe at Poly. They had the best chowder I ever had.

We went last CHristmas and thought the food was good but way to heavy. The portions are small, IMHO, but the food is very rich, We shared the tomato plate app and each got the combo that was available at the time, fettucini alfredo, lasagne and spag with meat sauce. The lasagne was not how I like it, instead of ricotta cheese they had a cream sauce.

We shared a dessert sampler with tiramisu, cannolli, cream and fruit tart, chocolate covered strawberries

I would eat there again but for lunch so I can walk off the calories the entire day!

I have eaten there 7 times out of the 9 I have visited WDW..it is a must do for us! You will here VERY mixed reviews, as it seems people love it or hate it. I am one of those who LOVES it. It is my favorite restaurant..period (not just at WDW!!!). I will admit that service isn't alwasy top notch (never had terrible service, but occasionally the servers seems distant, not super friendly, or not refilling drinks all the time...never rude though!) The food is why I go though! I LOVE the caesar salad and the fettucini alfredo is my favorite entree anywhere. I have had good desserts with the exception of the Tiramisu (not a big fan!). Try it out, you may really like it, or you may not. I went with friends and 75% of us loved it, and the other 25% though it was OK, they didn't LOVE the fettucini like me! All I know is whenever my sister and I go, it s the 1st place we make a reservation! I am going again and Dec and it is the first restaurant we are eating at. Again, read the menu on www.allearsnet.com and decide for yourself. People have very different opinions about Alfredos but I personally adore it!

We LOVE it! YYUUUMMM!!!

Hey...it is an authentic Italian restaurant, not "American Italian", so some may not be used to the way they make some things.

But, we will go every trip!

Is Alfredo's on the DDP? I dont' see it at first glance, but, I love the sound of the food...... doesn't hurt that it's almost dinner time here!

We ate there last year on the big family vacation. I had the fettucini w/shrimp served in like a blush sauce. To be honest, it wasn't the best Italian food I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst either. Everyone thought the tables were too close together, and that just seemed to add to the overall noise level and overcrowded feeling. Personally, I wouldn't go back.

For this years romantic trip (me and my dbf) I have ADR's for the San Angel Inn - even if the food sucks you can't beat the atmosphere and LeCellier - which I've heard so many great things about I'd be shocked if it's not terrific.

We just got back from WDW. I haven't even posted our dining report yet, but it is coming. We had another great meal at Alfredo's. It was one of the better meals of the trip. We left full, but extremely happy. The sangria might have had a little to do with the happiness, but our meal was very good.

You'll have to try it for yourself and decide. We were the on 8/24 and were a bit disappointed. The food was cold - stone cold - but tasty. Service was good. Desserts and antipast were terrific. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Enjoy.

Can I ask if you said anything to your server?

We went in December and it was one of our best meals. However, 2 of our party ordered the steak - one came out over cooked and one was cold. I actually brought it to the attention of the person who was bringing us refills on the drinks and he went right away and got our server - who wisked away the steaks. The manager came over and was very concerned and apologized. When the new (perfect!) steaks came out, again the manager came over to make sure things were alright.

To me, this is the mark of a good restaurant. Anyone can make a mistake (or over / under cook food, plate it wrong, etc) but it's the way they handle errors (i.e. guest recovery) that really counts in my books.

Out of all the times we've been to WDW, we have eaten at Alfredo's at least 90% of all our trips. We love the food and the atmosphere there. The only time we don't go there is when our schedule just won't let us. Sometimes we're trying out resturants that we haven't tried yet. We do have an ADR there for our up coming trip for the CP package. Can't wait to be there.

We just ate there. It was not the best but not the worst. Our service was very good. My cannolli was the BEST! The tables are close together and noise was loud but this is how Le Cellier is too. I would eat there again. Make a ADR if you want a table. There was a very long line and I heard others talking about it on another night about how long the line was if you didn't have a ADR. We got right in. The dining plan is available there, right now.

Dd and I walked up and got seated for an early dinner there in Dec '03...it was terrific. So, we couldn't wait to share it with my dh when we went back in '04. It was awful. The service was dreadful....everyone was having an issue with this particular server. The food was okay but not nearly as good as it was in '03. So, we didn't go back on subsequent trips. Well, last Dec my friend dragged me back..she loves it there and I figured how bad could it be. It was wonderful!!! Everything was perfect this time around. We have it booked for our CP package.

No, we are too wimpy! Plus my MIL swears they spit in your food if you complain or send it back (I worked in a restaurant I know they don't!) I have thought about writing a letter to the Executive Chef of EPCOT.

Also, they accomodated us by letting us order off the lunch menu for dinner for our finicky eaters. And the service was very attentive. So it was a postitive negative experience, if there is such a thing? :confused3

We would go back for the antipast and dessert!

We liked Alfredo's a lot. The pasta tricotti was very good except for the lasagna part, and the desserts were great. Make sure you are in the main room-that's where all the action is. We got stuck in this dirty hallway thing.

My family and I eat there on almost every one of our trips. Sometimes the food is outrageous sometimes it leaves a little to be desired but it's NEVER outright bad....I HIGHLY reccomend the Trittico entree and the desert sampler....it's like 10 bux but IT'S INCREDIBLE...my favorite dessert in all of WDW.

Alfredo's is on the dining plan--we just ate there two weeks ago for lunch. It was our first time and we all thought it was good. We got to the restaurant at 11:45 am for our noon ADR. They made everyone wait until exactly noon to be seated inside the restaurant.

DH is a picky eater so I got to eat his appetizer--the proscuitto ham & melon (delicious) and my fresh mozzarella (very tasty). The rolls and olive oil were great. DS ordered the kids penne pasta with cream sauce and parmagiana--the waiter brought it out early which was fine since he didn't get an appetizer as part of the plan there. He ate the majority of it and said it was good.

DH got the chicken parmagiana which he said was good with the exception of the demi glace. I had the fetticini alfredo. It was a bit too "al dente" for me and I only got about half way through the large serving.

For dessert DS had ice cream, I had a cannoli, and DH had some sort of mousse. All three were so-so.

Our waiter wasn't the most attentive, but he was training a new server who was having a REALLY tough time speaking English let alone trying to remember which table to bring food to (even though they only had three tables!). We had to ask for refills on our drinks as well as for sweetener for my iced tea (which I had to share with the table next to us when one of them ordered tea and didn't get any sugar or sweeteners either). Tables are very close as mentioned in other threads.

Without the free DDP we probably wouldn't go back, but if it comes up again next summer I'm sure I could convince DH to try again.
