Looking at SSR with a critical eye.

Ok, that numbers thing. The last post there was a question on numbers I did the math and for some reason I actually have the scrap paper where I wrote it down.

Here is the info that I have; (and these are not counting the max rooms possible)

OKW - 531 rooms
BCV - 208 rooms
VWL - 136 rooms
BWV - 383 rooms
SSR - 828 rooms

No to be honest I am not sure what that 828 is. Is it the 12 bldgs in commission now? Or is it with the 6 bldgs that will be added on or what? I don't know but so far that is what the total is at.

So that is a combined total of 2086 rooms. With that info

SSR has 39.7% of the rooms
OKW has 25.5%
BCV has 10%
VWL has 6.5%
BWV has 18.4%

So that is a lot of rooms. Basically the same # as BC / BW / WL combined with a few OKW added on top.

Now again, not sure if that SSR number will get bigger because I don't know what that 828 includes or excludes.

Cobbler...you're right!!! It is 828, not 858...so, 39% is the accurate percentage number. That 828 does include all 18 buildings (46 units per bldg).

Thanks for the correction!!

I was agreeing with some of what you had to say...until now. I just don't get the point of this. We all know there are such things as trolls Dave, but are you saying anybody who says they like SSR here is making it up??? :confused3

No, I don't think he ever said "all". I think he said, "some". I think DVC does have CM's posing as "owners" here. It would be a very good "marketing tool". WDW/DVC is nothing, if not VERY good at marketing.

good to see it's not 40%.

40% is ALOT...........

Seriously...did Richyams have a brother?? ;)

You two would've had a BLAST together!!!

thanx beca.

I had no clue who Rich was until the other day, his name kept coming up.

I spent an hour or so using the search feature. It's obvious Rich was loved and easy to see why.

I can assure you, his wit will NOT be duplicated here. He had the *touch* for sure.......

Oh I wasn't trying to be smart or anything, I just remember there was another post where numbers were questioned so I just dug out what I had figured back then.

Anywho I am glad to know that the 828 does include all 18 bldgs. Imagine if it was only the 12 in existance. Then there would really be an uproar! :)

Now did I talk to every guest, no, but I trust what I hear first hand, not on internet boards like this. Believe what you guys want, we are all entitled to our opinions but believe you me, B3 and Daitcher aren't the only ones who feel this way. Just once I want to meet a fellow guest who likes SSR. Maybe then I'll be a believer.

So i'm probably not a real owner then, but a ghost writer :rotfl2: Like I said before, you make some good points along with some not so good ones, but this is bordering on paranoia. Maybe you aren't real, maybe you work for another timeshare company...

I can't believe you actually bring up your dislikes with fellow guests who are on vacation, they probably just agree with you to get you to quit talking about it and leave them alone.

Sarnia can you picture this

Two men, let's call em Dave and Boats sitting on the edge of SAB, watching their children swim in the pool......

Dave: kinda nods at boats

boats : "sup man, .........nice day huh"

dave : "yeah, gonna be hot today......"

boats : 'yeah....... water sure does seem cold though"

dave "yeah" acrches back and stretches......

boats;" so where are you from....."

dave ;"a place far far away, ..........and you?"

boats:" ohio, you staying in the hotel or with dvc?"

dave: "dvc, and you?"

Boats ;" we belong to DVC too, we really like it, we own BWV, but are staying here for a day prior to a week stay at BWV"

girl walks by with a two piece, she obvioulsy is a long distance runner due to her lung capacity

dave: "what did you say?............"

boats:" I said, we belong to DVC too, we really like it, we own BWV, but are staying here for a day prior to a week stay at BWV"

dave:"oh......... we own at SSR"

silence for a while, as boats really doesn't know what to say

boats : "gonna be a hot one today........."

dave : "yeah............ a hot one"

boats:"so do you enjoy SSR as much as the other resorts?"

dave:"................blah, blah, blah..................."

The above conversation is one that is very possible. It's a rare trip at a DVC resort where i don't have a DVC discussion with more then one person. Well unless there is a cross country runners convention, then we don't talk much.....

First let me apologize to anyone who was offended by my assertions. Of course some of the positive reviews are not made up. Just from sheer numbers of SSR owners, some will like it. The question remains, what percentage? I've still not met a SSR owner who likes the place.

That would be because the happy SSR owners avoid those sitting at the pool with that horrible frown on thier faces. :thumbsup2

I already posted about this. I do ask other guests how they like the resort. Is that so strange? People asked me at OKW how I liked it there. I can only state what I've seen and heard. If I meet a fellow WDW guest who likes DVC I'll post it here in big bold letters. Heck, I'll make a thread based on it. You guys act like I don't want people to like SSR. I wish it truly was great so I could sing its praises. That is the goal. I've never suggested you or anyone else in particular is a ghost writer. Just be aware it does happen. There is a big incentive for good reviews of SSR to be posted here. After all the resort is still selling. Many of the reviewers that like SSR are new or fairly new posters. Many simply dissapear after they post the review to never be heard from again. Decide for yourselves but do not rule this theory out.

Well Dave we'll just have to meet! When's the next time you'll be in the World?

:teeth:

.

After the warm reception they recieve after posting a postive SSR review, can you honestly blame them. :confused3

Especially if they are new around here.

Since we're going down the bizaro-world path.... are we certain that B3 and Dave aren't one and the same? ;)

I posted earlier this morning......this can't still be going on?!!! I'm beginning to think people don't have another vacation spot. I love Disney just as much as some of you out there, but life goes on outside of the "world".

People....SSR is new! We purchased back in December 2005, and we love it there. But that is only us. We like having space and not to mention peace and quiet after a long day at the parks. We have 3 young children who will be able to enjoy it long after we are gone.

We have every intention of staying at BCV and the BWV, but that is it. The others do not interest me at all. I hope everyone who has bought into SSR has the opportunity to stay at the resort of their choice. It is after all a Democratic Society still....right?
