Looking at new family member today

We are going to see a potential new family member today

We have decided (when I say 'we' I mean the 3 'ladies' in the family bullied me into submission LOL), to get a puppy!
I went to look at a litter of labradors yesterday and tonight we are all going to see if one of the dogs is suitable. He's a black labrador dog and very cute (don't tell the DW I said that ).

So in a couple of weeks time we may have a new addition to the family. Hope the cat likes him LOL

Oh Tim, that's great! We are hoping to add to our family in the same way in a couple of weeks time. Our old dog has been gone 5 years and only now are we ready to accept a new member into the family on its own terms. DS's birthday is on the 18th of this month so we said he could have a dog for his birthday. Also, we hope to move next Tuesday and will have a really beautiful garden - twice the size of our present garden - for a pup to stretch its legs in!

NOT looking forward to the puddles and presents on the floor though!

We have the same concerns about our cat who is used to being the "only" furry kid ....

I agree, we've had 2 new additions, 2 rabbits for dd they are called wait for it!! "Eeyore" he's a grey dwarf rabbit,and "tigger" hes a lionhead rabbits,and he loves to jump about the place lol.

Yes, we want pics. Lots of them. Puppy tearing Tim's shoes up. Puppy weeing on the new carpet. Puppy getting into the trash can. Puppy chewing on computer cord . . . etc. You get the picture.

Great news Tim ! We got our two little terrors (westies) in January as puppies, they have grown up really fast. My Brother has a black labrador - they're great companions.

We have made a decision and we pick up the puppy tomorrow morning

His name will be Barney (chosen by our DDs).

We have spent the morning stocking up on puppy toys, puppy food, various puppy accessories, registered him at the local vets ready for his jabs and we have attempted to puppy proof (if that's possible LOL) the kitchen and the down stairs rooms.
I'm about to check the back garden for possible hazards and escape routes!

He's a black labrador and quite a chubby little chap with a very angelic face! (DW says he looks like me!). We met his dam, and she is a lovely dog. Very fiendly and a really nice temperament.
He was one of a litter of 12.
He's KC registered, so we get 6 weeks health cover free

Our youngest DD has had a word with our cat and told him to set a good example LOL

I will post photos tomorrow (if he hasn't eaten the PC!)

Oh Tim, I was just teasing you. I love dogs and I've never been without one. Everyone should own a dog. DS loves black labs, he's been begging me for ages. We have a little doxie who fits in my arms.

But why do they always chew up the new shoes.

Tim, we have a black lab and a blonde lab. They have really nice temprements and are great with children. Beware though they love to chew anything and everything, including carpet and furniture, they really are not picky!! Plus they eat like there is no tomorrow. I swear I have never seen anything eat as fast as our blonde lab. Oh and by the way they don't mature until they are around 3 They are well worth the effort and you will love Barney, he will bring so much happiness into your lives. Good Luck
