A new ticker.

Gone and done it. Booked with Disney UK, 15 nights at POFQ from 23 September to 8th October 2011, free QSDP with DD on the adult plan.

I feel so smug right now! :lmao:

And you haven't even finished your trippie yet!! Good to have something to look forward to :goodvibes

Don't rub it in :lmao: I'm nearly ready to post part 2 of the next day. ;)

Thanks Wayne. I got a 15% off my resort cost by booking today. I was going to put a courtesy hold on it and clear me leave at work tomorrow, but it will cost me £50 to amend and much better savings on the resort cost. It came up cheaper over the phone than online so I just went and booked it. Now waiting for flights to come out for those dates with Continental and we're looking good.

Tossed the cigarettes this weekend - time to save and nothing like a fresh incentive for motivation. :)

Thats great! We're also going next September - from the 15th til the 3rd October! ANNND we'll be at POFQ! :goodvibes Hopefully we'll see you around! :thumbsup2

Oh brilliant! I am still in that initial disbelief stage but I feel so relaxed about this one. Last year I booked flight inclusive and found the stress of the implications of being locked so tightly into the dates etc hung over me for a while. I feel surprisingly calm and satisfied about this. I also feel I got a great deal. If I get flights for the 2 of us for under £1300 it still comes in at less than I paid for 14 nights this year, plus we have an extra day more than last year plus adult dining for DD. Very happy :)

:thumbsup2 Good move on the adult dining - I really don't understand the lack of choices for children. Who wants to eat chicken nuggets or macaroni and cheese for two weeks solid? :confused3 Sounds like you've got a great deal too! We're paying £3,700 for 18 nights at POFQ with an upgraded dining plan and including 21 night tickets. I looked at the deals for OKW etc but...

...I'm so excited to be going back to POFQ. My first two trips were spent there and, last year at AKL, I missed it. I've been trying to explain it to my DF Gary, but I think I've turned him into a deluxe snob! I'm sure the quiet of POFQ will win him over...AKL I found to be quite hectic.

I've been trying to sort out our itinerary since we booked at the very beginning of JUNE! Still trying to figure out whether or not to head over to IOA and the WWOHP  Are you planning on any OOP meals? I recall you having a few booked for the trip just gone - any recommendations? I've got 18 to sort out! :upsidedow

I have never looked at Kids menus until these past few weeks, Matt has eaten eaten adult meals as long as I can remember, much rather have a plate of pasta & chicken to a burger or nuggets. Last night we went out with relatives, his cousin (she is same age, 16) had burger Matt had Ribeye steak.
Now I am looking as our God daugter is going with us next August, age 3. What a poor selection they offer at most places. If it had been Matt I would have bought him an adult ticket (£27 more for 14 nights) and got him adult meals but Lily is a tiny 3 year old so she should be ok with kids and some of ours.

Definitely House of BLues, but it's not on the DDP. Another reason why upgrading doesn't make sense for us. In addition we will only do one character meal and DD can choose any one she likes. I think she may opt for CRT.

We cancelled WCC at the last minute as DD was in a line to meet Ariel and didn't want to move out of the park so I can't give you info on that. I think she will enjoy Teppan Edo and may give that a go. San Angel Inn used to be very nice and unless something has changed, is still a hopeful as we like Mexican food. Our TS to date have been character meals so I'm the wrong person to give recommendations to 2 adults. ;)

I used DD's credits mainly at places like Main Street Bakery or for a kids breakfast at the foodcourt for us to share. We share a lot of meals anyway and she is quite happy with the pizza or kids chicken salad where available. MSB was great as I would get a focaccia, cinnamon roll or cake and a drink at closing time and take it back for the next day's breakfast and snacks. Quite often we would use a kids CS like that and use them as snacks. But my daughter would rather eat sushi than mac n cheese and while the F&W if it is one, helps somewhat, it makes sense to spend your CS as snacks and use the Snack Credits to bring things home which is what we did. Lots of things came home and were shared out among family members. We had lots of unused credits last year and DDP was not free. I made a point of balancing things out this year.

You'd have thought that, in a place where there is an abundance of children, they'd have a wider selection. I don't see that it would be too hard to offer smaller portions of the adult selections but maybe they're catering to the mass market? :confused3 I'd have bought an adult ticket to - the extra cost is nothing compared the wider variety offered.

I had a look at HOB after reading your review, it looked delicious. Unfortunately, I don't think I could fit another meal in, especially if we decide to go over to IOA. I've already got a free meal voucher for Planet Hollywood on top of my 18 table service credits. We don't really eat breakfast either so they're all mainly lunch or dinner. Its a shame, as I'd love to try it out.

We went to Whispering Canyon last August and quite enjoyed it. Orginally, DF didn't want to go back but the skillet won him over and its on the list. I don't think we'd go, though, if it wasn't for the skillet. I'm not the most confident or self-assured person in the world so I feel a little uncomfortable. That said, I like watching other people enjoying the interaction :thumbsup2

My younger brother (he was 14 at the time) LOVED Teppan Edo. I booked it as a surprise and the whole time his face was like  I don't think he blinked. In a word he said it was 'awesome!' - I had to book it again for later in the week! I'm sure your daughter will love it, all the kids on our table were thoroughly entertained. The chef - Tomo - was great too :goodvibes

Yay, Congratulations on the new ticker. I think the booking fairy has been flying around spreading her magic this weekend! :goodvibes

Will have to go and look for your trippie now. :)

brilliant news, have you told your dd or is it another secret?

Oh no, no more secrets. :lmao: I want her in on the planning this time. She doesn't know yet as she has been at a friend's house since lunchtime. She wil be back in an hour and I can't wait to tell her. Struggling now with some nicotine withdrawal though, hence me sitting on the DIS all afternoon. This is my sacrifice though. It is our spending money and I am determined to do it this time. I have a great incentive.

Aw bet she will be delighted and it will be so much fun to plan it together.

Well done you on stopping smoking, everytime you fancy a smoke just think what it will buy you in disney, best incentive ever.
I so wish i was booking just now but it seems to have got so expensive for us as we are a family of 5

Thank you for the encouragement. That is my approach. I resisted the urge to go and buy a pack today by sitting and working out how much I will save before my trip and it will actually pay for PE upgrades, should we fly with VA :scared1: Although this will be spending money for us.

45 minutes until my princess gets home. I am so excited to tell her. :yay:

It has got expensive. I shifted my dates to save £400 on the same booking.

:goodvibes Awesome !

I hate the fact, since becoming a member on here. . you will have been twice in two years before I go for the first time haha.

But yaaaaaaaaay =D

Thanks Rachey. I need to save hard for this one as these two trips are a little under a year apart so it means trying to find what else we can cut back on. I think after this we may wait it out 18 months until the next Easter, skipping a calendar year. I do like April but this is more affordable and when I suggested to DD that we wait until Easter 2012 her face just fell and she asked if she could help me with her pocket money and savings

Congrats on your new ticker, it looks fabulous ;)
I'm super jealous, I'm having such withdrawals and they're not going away. :headache:

Thank you. Oh the withdrawals ... :headache: I had the hardest time ever this year. Not only the post Disney stuff, I was feeling a bit teary on our last night. I was feeling unwell that evening and had a fever/shivers so I am sure it didn't help matters but for some odd reason actually leaving Disney property was soooooo hard for me this year. I think this last trip carried way too much emotion, and I mean that. Of course even without booking yet, you can start planning your must-dos for the next one. As they change regularly, you can be sure to keep yourself busy indefinitely ;)

The other thing is to spend months on a spectacular photobook from a previous trip. That is a pretty good temporary distraction too. :)

Of course I now need to go to work tomorrow and tell them I have booked again :rolleyes1 They think I am odd as it is so I figure, nothing to lose :lmao:
