I need to start planning priority seating soon, so I have been working on our itinerary for the last several weeks. My mom thinks I'm nuts spending all this time changing and adjusting things around. Tell me if you see any problems or things I should change.

The people going are me, my mom, my 11yr old niece (2nd trip), and my 6yr old niece (her 1st time at WDW).

Saturday, Oct.16 - Drive to WDW
Check into BWI

Sunday, Oct.17 - Disney-MGM Studios

Monday, Oct.18 - Epcot
Illuminations

Tuesday, Oct.19 - FREE DAY

Wednesday, Oct.20 - Animal Kingdom
MHSSHP

Thursday, Oct.21 - FREE DAY

Friday, Oct.22 - Magic Kingdom

Saturday, Oct.23 - Animal Kingdom
Wishes and 2nd showing of SpectroMagic

Sunday, Oct.24 - FREE DAY

Monday, Oct.25 - Epcot

Tuesday, Oct.26 - Magic Kingdom

Wednesday, Oct.27 - FREE DAY

Thursday, Oct.28 - Disney-MGM Studios
Fantasmic

Friday, Oct.29 - Drive Home

I tried to schedule a free day after days when we would be out late. I figure we will sleep in and then do non-park activities like
swimming, DD, Fantasia Gardens, etc. Anyone see any problems or have suggestions??

Kristi

You get there the day we leave!!

:jumping1:

I can't find any problems with your plans, but are you taking breaks in the afternoons or just staying at the parks straight through from morning 'til night?

If your mom thinks you're crazy for doing so much planning, you should see my plans. She's have me locked up!!

We usually split the days and do one park in the morning / take a break in the room or swim / do another park in the late afternoon and evening.

I haven't stayed in one park all day since my trip dh and I took before we had kids. Even he didn't want to be in the park straight through. The 6 yo may need to have it broken up into smaller chunks.

I'd be happy to show you what my itinerary looks like if you want to pm me. I don't want to post it on the boards.

No, I don't see any problems. It must be nice to be able to stay 2 weeks. I would love to be able to, that way I could get everything in and not feel so rushed. Have a great trip!:D

Yes, we are planning to take a mid day break on park days. We did this the first time we took my 11yr old niece who was 6 at
the time. It really worked out well and we adults also liked the break.

Hey-we will be at Epcot on the 18th too. See you there:)

Your itinerary looks great. Personally, I don't think I could handle that many free days--I'd go stir crazy. But that's just me and I've never gone with kids. What kind of tickets are you getting? Since you have 8 park days already planned I'm assuming you either have APs or are getting PHPs. If you're getting PHPs I'd add an extra day to the passes just in case you decide to go to a park for an extra day or evening.

If you find your family is doing okay and doesn't need 4 free days, give some consideration to going to a water park one day, or spend a day at SW, US, or IOA. Of course, you can always play this by ear and see how everyone is doing. I just know when I was young and on vacation I could go forever. Free days would also be good for acharacter meal at a resort or a night time activity like Cirque, HDD or the Luau.

I also assume you are intentionally avoiding the EMH park. There's nothing wrong with that, especially if you're not early risers. I was just checking to make sure you intended to skip EMH.

Good luck and have fun.

We will be there the exact same time, except we will be leaving on 10/23, I sure wish we could stay that long. How are you sure about the dates for your 2nd showing of the spectromagic?? I was told there was no guarantee of what day it will be on, although I know it is mostly shown on Sat. Here is a little of our schedule:
10/15 Arrive late evening.
10/16 Epcot
Ice Cream Socical
Spend rest of night at Mk
10/17 Animal Kingdom
PS LTT @5:30
MNSSHP
10/18 Universal
10/19 Island of Adventure
10/20 Mk
10/21 MGM
10/22Mk or Ak
10/23 any other park we decide we didn't get enough of
I hope to make PS at Cp for bkfast, and do Hoop de doo or Mickey's Backyard BBQ, and definitely participate in the campfire program at the Ft. Wilderness, and We Can't Wait Til OCT!!!!
Maybe all of us Oct visiting Diser's will all have to plan to meet somewhere.

My mom and I bought APs on our trip last December since we knew we were coming back in the fall. I have not bought tickets for the girls yet, but it seems more economical to buy them AP's as well.

I won't rule out going to the parks on our 4 free days, but I want to be able to sleep in and play it by ear. When we took my oldest niece for two weeks a few years ago, she was pretty tired by the end of vacation. I want to make sure both girls get plenty of rest so they enjoy their trip.

We were skipping the EMH on purpose. It's vacation and we usually don't get up until 7am.

Going by last years schedule, SpectroMagic was shown twice on Saturdays in October. No guarantee that it will be the case this year, but I hope so.

If you have APs, and are willing to play by ear the idea of going to the park on the free days, then I think your plan looks GREAT!! It's well thought out. Now you just have to figure out the character meals and PSs for meals. Planning never ends! :bounce:
