Long wait even with ADR?

I have rarely had to wait beyond 5-10 minutes past my ADR to get a seat. The size of our party has either been 3 or 4 people. The exceptions are:

LeCellier- 40 Minutes
Coral Reef- The first time about 30 minutes, the second time about 20 minutes
Ohana Breakfast - 45 minutes
Ohana Dinner - First time 50 minutes, the second time 45 minutes

Of the above restaurants I will be willing to try Coral Reef again, but LeCellier is out for more reasons than just the wait time, and Ohana is out because three times and I'm not willing to wait that long for a fourth visit.

If my wait exceeds 15 to 20 minutes I go up and ask to be taken off the list and assured that I am not being charged as a no show. So far that has worked... (in one case they suddenly found a table) If Disney wants me to schedule every minute of the day they need to live up on their end.

Worst wait EVER Beaches and Cream with a group of about 7. I think we were there over an hour. The hostess had no idea how to deal with a large group and just kept sticking tables of 3 and 4 ahead of us until we demanded a manager. We then pointed out that (A) we had repeatedly volunteered to split up and (B) if she had not sat the last group of 4 right next to the empty table for three we could have been seated. She seemed unable to figure that process out. THey had one large table and we were going to wait for it no matter what in her world. (She told the manager that 'yes we had agreed to split', but she didn't know how to do that LOL! She was also incredibly rude to all the guests and laughed at one family who asked about a walk up. She was in the WRONG job! He gave us credit for desert on the meal as a thank you, but I won't ever go back. The only reason I waited was the kids were so excited about this place!)

Do you get a pager when you check in or do you have to wait for the host/ess to shout your name? I wouldn't mind waiting a bit if I could wander around but having to stand in the lobby/within earshot for 30+ min would be a real drag.

It depends. Even if you get a pager you cannot wander very far. At the Rose and Crown, for example, they told us to stay in the Great Britain section of the park.

It's breakfast, too. Our last two times for breakfast have been 30 & 45 minute waits with ADR's.
Hmmm. I've only ever booked the opening time for all breakfasts and so was unaware of Ohana's reputation. This time I thought we'd sleep in a little instead, and booked an ADR there for prime breakfast time. Too late to change anything but my mindset going in... Thanks for all this great info!

So if I have a 705p reservation at Ohana and I'm hoping to make it to HS for the late (1030p) F! show without a FP, what time should I get to Ohana to check in? Do you think it's doable to get to HS from the Poly in time? We'll take a cab or Uber to save on time. If it's not doable, then I'd much rather relax at dinner and forget about making it to HS in time.
You can use Uber in Disney? Forgive my stupidity, I've never used Uber before but all of my friends in Philly and NYC use it and say great things. We'll definitely use it this coming visit to get from our resort to another.

Yes! You can. I have never done it at Disney yet personally, but just a search for Uber on these boards/in the transportation threads will show you tons of people who have used it successfully and have said it's very convenient and often cheaper than a cab. I plan on using it for my upcoming trip.

Thanks so much for your quick reply! This is so great to know. Going to use them instead of a cab.
