We are flying out of Phl airport on Feb 20 (flight leaves at 8:15 pm, so we'll probably arrive around 6 pm.) We will need to park our car there for 5 days. Does anyone know the parking situation there? Can you easily get a spot in the 17 per day (or 9 per day) lot? I'm a little concerned because we went to JFK once and there were no long term parking spots available, and we ended up having to park in the daily for 10 days at $24 per day! Thanks for any help!

The economy parking lot at PHL is HUGE. I have only used it once, and we found plenty of spots.
But here are some alternatives to parking at the actual airport

I am considering using Colonial parking this trip. Our last trip we had a 30 minute wait for the shuttle bus from the parking lot to the terminal.

That's good to know; the airport web site says a max of 13 minute wait for the shuttle, with an average of 8. Considering that we are using Southwest and need to get in line, a 30 min wait won't do!

Just make sure to give yourself enough time. I don't know if it's still the case, but a few months back there was stories on the local news about how people were having trouble finding spots & the lots being full. I've recently started traveling every few months for work & I park in the $17 garage. I know that still takes me some driving around to find something when I get there. I don't know if the economy lot is still filling up - maybe someone else has had recent experience?

We used the Economy ($9) lot in December. There were spots, but we did have to do some driving to find them.

Our family and friends use Pacifico Valet at the Automall, and we love it.

- Drive to Pacifico.
- The valet will drive you and your family in your car to curbside checkin at the airport. (No catching a shuttle and no lugging your bags for miles.)
- The valet will drive your car back to Pacifico and park it in a secure lot.
- When you arrive back at PHL, you call Pacifico and they pick you up in your car at baggage claim.
- The valet drives you back to Pacifico so you can pay your bill.

It costs about $18 a day, but it is well worth the convenience. There is also a coupon for 10% off on their web site. www.pacificovalet.com

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks everyone! I love the Dis boards! I think I will try to park in the $17 per day lot, but I printed out all of the info on Pacifico valet just in case I can't find a spot!

There can be a problem getting a space at the long term lot, especially later in the day. They are adding about 2,000 more spaces, but I don't think they'll be ready for a while.

We tried to park in long term parking for a 5:40 p.m. flight in November, during Jersey week. The economy lot was full, so we ended up going to Winner Ford. Fortunately we left the house early enough to do this and still make the flight. The Winner Ford driver takes you to the airport in your car and then picks you up in your own car when you return. I paid the extra $10 to be able to leave directly from the airport and not have to drive the Winner driver back.

By long term, do you mean the 17 per day garages?

This is exactly what I am afraid of. Do you need reservations for Winner Ford?

:goodvibes Winner Valet is only $10 a day. I have used them at least 8 times and have never had any problems. Can't beat getting dropped off and picked up at the gate.

Pacifico's rates are posted on their website, http://www.pacificovalet.com/. Are the posted rates inaccurate??

We always parked over on Enterprise Ave at Kinney, never ever had a problem getting a space even on the busiest holiday travel periods. And with the AAA discount, it's less expensive than the econmy lots at the airport, and a LOT more secure!!! They have a guard in the tower overlooking the fenced and well lit lot 24/7.

Please excuse my blond moment. You're going to love this one...

$18/day is actually how much it costs to board our dog at the kennel.:rotfl:

Sorry about that.

Yes, the rates on Pacifico's site are accurate. It cost about $80 total to board our car for a Saturday to Saturday trip.

If the kennel changes your dog's oil and gives him a tune up, I guess that's a good price. ;)

I mean the long term lot that you need to take a shuttle to get to the terminal. Although when we were trying to park, the long term lot and the garages were all full.

We did not need a reservation at Winner Ford. There were about three cars ahead of us, but the Winner employee was very quick taking the information. They had drivers available and we were on the way to the airport in under ten minutes.
