DH is thinking we might use lockers for s'shirts, ponchos, etc. We do NOT want to lug a backpack through the parks! I have a small over the shoulder Eddie Bauer bag that is AWESOME! If it doesn't fit in that bag, it aiin't goin in the parks with us!

Does anyone else use these? Are they free? Are they a hassle? I figure, if we're stuck in the rain, ponchos, s'shirts, etc....that are a mile away in a locker aren't doing us any good! :confused3

Opinions anyone????

The only park we DIDN'T get a locker in was Epcot. The lockers are usually right at the park entrance, so you are right that having the poncho in a locker won't help you. It also probably depends on what time of year you go. We went last month and at MK we put our jackets in the locker but went back to get them for Wishes and EMH. Same thing at MGM - needed our jackets at Fantasmic. We also usually filled up our mugs on the way out of the resort, then put them in the locker at the park so we didn't have to carry them around. That way we could fill them up again on the way back to the room at the end of the day.

At AK it was pouring rain the whole day so we ended up putting the whole backpack in a locker to keep it from getting soaked. If it had stopped raining at some point during the day we could have put the three umbrellas we bought in there! :umbrella: Of course it never did stop raining.

I think the lockers are $5 plus a $2 deposit that you get back when you return the key. Also if you have a locker at one park and then hop I think you can get a locker at the next park by showing your receipt. We didn't try that so not sure. For us it was worth it, even though it was a little bit of a hassle to go back to get things out.

we used a locker at MK for our mittens, turtlenecks, etc for MVMCP (it was cold!). It was nice but there was a line to pay at park closing.

We used the lockers at MGM. The fee was minimal and we found it to be very helpful. They have different size lockers which we thought was a good idea.

In over 30 visits to WDW, earlier with 2 children, have never used the lockers or taken backpacks. Small fanny packs, my wife has one and so do eye and what fits in them is all we need for a day at the parks. Can't imagine what people have in the packs, and some are really large. Room key, credit card and park tickets plus what ever my wife has in hers, you know women, plus I sling my digital camera and we're good to go. Course, we stay at a park for half a day, go back to resort for swimming, relaxation, and go back to the park in the evening and never wanted for anything.
