Local soldier killed in Iraq

My little town is in mourning. A 21 yr. old local boy was killed in Iraq after getting there 3 weeks ago. He was in Germany before that. He was inspecting a homemade bomb, the newspaper says 2 others were fatally wounded. I feel so bad for this family and of course all the families who have lost loved ones. I'm going to drive by the home to get the house number so I can send a sympathy card. I don't know the family. From what I've heard our local American Legion is going to plant a tree and add his name to our towns memorial plaques. I hope everyone in town shows up at the Veterans Park to show their gratitude and respect for this young man and his family.

My greatest fear while Titus was gone was that something just like this would happen to him. My heart really goes out to his family. I'm sure it was their greatest fear also.

my son called yesterday to tell us about it because the soldier was in his unit. It really shook him up. He is leaving for Iraq to join his unit and this is really upsetting him. The family is in my prayers....

Keli, how is Titus? I remember he was not doing to well after he returned home. I hope he's doing better.

I was talking to my FIL on the phone earlier about this young soldier and he started to cry. My FIL is in his 70's and was in Korea and couldn't control his emotions when talking about this poor kid losing his life.

How sad. Our neighbors across the street have a daughter over in Iraq so I'm constantly praying for her and her safety.
