The lobster tails we had on our 7 day cruise last month were completely inedible. None of the 6 adults ate more than half, it was just so bland and chewy. Maybe it was an off night, but IMHO you aren't missing much if they don't serve it.

This is true. When our server told us it was from Maine she went back to the kitchen and was then told it was actualy from Nicaragua. That was on the Fantasy last February. Also I believe Nicaragua is one of the biggest if not the biggest supplier of Caribbean spiny lobster.
We’ve never had the lobster dinner on cruises shorter than 7 nights. It has always been rock lobster, not lobster from Maine (or the Maritime provinces of Canada).
The only edible lobster on a DCL cruise is offered, on a salad, during the Concierge embarkation lunch.
