LL Premier Pass is here!

Are you a Stock Holder? We are only discussing 3 days out of the last 30 days for MK only so not leaving a major pile of cash on the table.

Dave
No, I only own index funds. I don't gamble, and I don't buy individual stocks.

The pass was opened to all guests (rather than just Disney hotel guests) on the 21st of January, just about two weeks ago. Since then, it has sold out twice during some of the lowest crowds of the year in months not named September. Maybe Disney is content to let it sell out to create the impression of scarcity, but given the demand they could easily raise the price and make more cash.

This may or may not contribute to the sellout, but late last year I spoke to a friend who was upset about not being able to purchase the LLPP from the Four Seasons. I can see guests like her buying up the passes, even during the least busy time.

A quote from CFO Hugh Johnston 2/5: “It’s very much in line with our expectations, but we are moving slowly with that product in order to make it a great experience both for the purchasers of Lightning Lane and for the rest of our guests in the park. So feel great about it. It’s going to build over time, but it’s certainly very much early days.”

I have read speculation from vloggers, etc that since Premier Pass is selling out on "slower" days at WDW, that LLPP may be the only option for skipping the lines in the future. Does the above quote from Johnston seem to hint at this "build over time"?

Thoughts?

I think we will see multiparks LLPP and à la carte LLSP (we'll be able to buy separate single passes for all attractions). LLMP may be phased out altogether.

Any opinion on buying this vs after hours tickets if staying onsite? For MK..... . HS wont be available
when we will be there so is buying the LLPP worth it for there also? thank you

My opinion is that after hours is a better use of your time and money if you want to do Tron/7DMT/anything good more than once without a long wait, but to be honest, I don’t know how long those lines will be at after hours. Our family will probably pay for a LLSP during the day and then try to hit rides during after hours, which still works out (much) cheaper than LLPP.

I doubt that they will go to an only LLPP offering. Remember it has only sold out at MK on 2 days, and both times is was not even early in the morning but just before Noon.

This is not likely since they can't manage the experience if you could go to more than 1 park at any time during your LLPP day. It makes it harder to manage the wait times in the LL queues. On the à la carte LLSP for every LL attraction just adds unneeded complexity to with limited or no benefit.

I also don't see LLMP going away but the time scheduling window does need to be improved in MDE and it likely to appear this year.

What are your thoughts on what changes / improvements can be expected for the time scheduling window via MDE?

Latest update it looks like MK is Sold out today for 2/14 and 2/15 as of now.

Dave
Don’t forget that is the start of a holiday weekend so it will be very crowded and people probably want to accomplish as much as possible without wasting time in lines. We did for MK on a day following an After Hours at The Studios so we didn’t have to rush to the park and we’re still able to do all the rides. It was great!

Yes Presidents week is a major crunch of visitors to WDW. And the MK LLPP is priced at $399 the high price for February on some days. Several very large school districts block the entire week for a student break. Others have a long weekend scheduled to take advantage of the Monday holiday.
