Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

I need help choosing which beaches to go to in all of the ports. I'm so confused by all the choices. Here is some info to help:

1. We have two kids. At cruise time, one will be 5 years, other will be 23 months.
2. We'd prefer not to pay for a Disney excursion that just drives us to a beach and back. We would rather take reliable, easily accessible public transportation or hire a private driver.
3. The shorter the distance the better, but we still want great quality.
4. We are willing to a pay a fee for the beach if needed
5. My son has a lot of food allergies, so we need to be able to eat somewhere with staff that speaks reliable English (though we will also have written info in Spanish as a backup)

Thoughts???
We have gone to and plan to go back this trip to Paradise Beach in Cozumel. It was wonderful. They have lots of water toys, like slides and trampolines, and the fee is only $12. We loved the food too. The last time we went the owner we American, but I think it has since switched hands. Also, I think it was about 15 minutes from the port by taxi. Here is their website, http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.com/
By the was the last time we were there my girls were 6 & 9.

Made final payment on our PORS reservation on our cc today ... :cheer2: ??? ... ah ... it's only $$ ... :rolleyes1 ;)

Thanks ... the good news is that after our cruise you will be repeat customers and get the earlier access.:yay:

Check as soon as you board, they tend to release additional cabanas initially held for the concierge cruisers. Yes, there is a tram to take you from the ship. I think there is a stop nearby the family beach and again near the adult section.

Thanks ... will do ... keeping my fingers crossed one will be available pixiedust:

They run a tram from near where the ship docks to the main area, making two stops. There is a connecting tram that takes adults to Serenity Bay.

That is great ... :drive:

Hi Everyone, we are first time Disney Cruisers, celebrating our honeymoon. Since this is our first Disney Cruise we have NO IDEA what we are doing. We added ourselves to the fish extender list (I think), and are excited to see what this is all about.

We reserved Remy and brunch at Palo. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to make our honeymoon awesome please let us know!

Congrats :cheer2: ... Maria's suggestion of a Cabana massage is a great idea ... like you we also booked dinner @ Remy's and brunch @ Palo's to celebrate our 20th (On our honeymoon and our 10th Anniv, we went on Princess cruises ... cruisin' is a great way to celebrate :yay:). Don't forget to check out the Gifts and Amenities section of DCL for going away items etc ...

Wow, you can tell everyone is getting more and more excited since our cruise is just around the corner now. Welcome to any new people who came onboard.

Two honeymoon couples too, how exciting! My daughter (TrojanJulez) and son-in-law did a Land and Sea with Disney for their honeymoon. Their 10th anniversary is in a couple of weeks. Now they will be bringing their son on his very first cruise. Of course it had to be on Disney!

Sandy...that Friday is 1st day of F&W ! Hubby and I plan on being there as well !!! Maybe closer to the trip we can exchange cell numbers and can text eachother for a quick meet-up if you're comfortable with that ? If not....we'll see ya on the Fantasy :thumbsup2

Sounds good to me. We have ADRs at Rose & Crown that I thought I timed right for Illuminations, but it is 10:00 that night, not 9:00 as I originally expected.

Welcome and congratulations! I've noticed that on this meet thread and the other meet thread we're involved with there are not only a lot of first time cruisers but a lot of new DISers as well. I think that's great.

Welcome BeNicole !!! How about booking a couple's massage at the spa---or schedule one in a Castaway Cay cabana...there are still times available right now. Just checked. I think that would be nice for a honeymoon :) CONGRATS to you both ! :goodvibes

I second a couples Cabana massage. It's heaven on earth.

I second Paradise Beach. We are also going there and it will be our second time. They've expanded it since the last time we were there, so we are looking forward to the changes. TO clarify something Lori said, the $12 is for use of the water toys. Otherwise, it's just $2 for use of a chair and umbrella.

I've hard good things about Tropicante on Costa Maya, but have not experienced it first hand ourselves.

Just got cabin assignment --had 5E GTY. In 7190 . It feels more real now !!!

Hi Laura, I have 2 girls who are also 11 & 8, although they both have birthday in September so will be Cassidy will be 12 & Courtney, 9 for the cruise. There are quite a few girls in the 8-10 range in the group.

Welcome to all the new comers!! We are sooo excited. DS17 just got home from a baseball showcase, he did really well. We are very proud of him!! Have a whitewater reafting trip planned in a few weeks, then to the cruise. Mom has her surgery on Wend, then 7 weeks and we leave!

Thanks for all of the welcoming messages and tips! We are certainly psyched for it. We actually got married in June but chose to wait on the honeymoon - September seemed to offer much lower prices on the cruise. September 29th can't come soon enough!

One question we had is about disembarkation day (I know, who wants to think about that?!) BUT our flight isn't until 4pm. Is there anything we can do to keep ourselves occupied in the port area for a few hours?

Mom went to Dr yesterday. having surgery on 8/15. will be in a walking boot for 6-8 weeks. We cruise at the 7 week mark. She says she will be up to it. The kids say we can get a wheelchair for her. not sure she likes that idea to much. Wishing her a speedy recovery. Glad she is going to get lots of beach time to recover.

Hope your mom is better pre-cruise!

You'll be in Coacoa Beach! Kennedy Space Center is about 14 miles up the coast.
