Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

Oh. That's too bad.

I can't decide between the options, both are good and bad. Leaning towards starting a new thread though (for what it's worth :) )

Did the moderator have any suggestions on what we should do? If not, probably just start a new thread. People can always go back to read the original thread, but I don't think there is too much info there besides names, ages, staterooms etc. (I don't think anyone was organizing private tours) Post a note (in BIG FONT) at the end of this one explaining that there is a new thread. Maybe put New or Continued in the title of the new thread?

Do what ever you think would be easiest for you.

Somewhere there was a request for photos so we can recognize each other...

Here is a picture of our family getting on the Wonder in 2010

Wendy, my younger daughter is the same age as your older one. She will be 9 just before we cruise. I know she is looking forward to meeting some other girls her age. :cheer2:

I agree we can just start a new thread. You could always put a link to this thread in the first post too so it's easy to find if needed.

Good idea about posting a link in the first post. If go metros can't do it I'm sure she could ask Michelle to add the link.

Hello everyone ... I didn't see a link in the first post, or the last post, so I figured I would try my luck at the end.

My family and I will be joining everyone on the 9/29 Fantasy Sailing. This will mark our 2nd Disney Cruise (DW and I did a no kids trip on the Dream last October). We have previously cruised with RCCL, Carnival, and Princess (all before kids). Our family will include myself (DH), DW, and DS 5 & 3. My parents are scheduled to come with us (in their own cabin a few floors away ... at the request of the DW), but knowing my mother I give it a 50 / 50 chance at best.

Looking forward to seeing / passing everyone on the ship.

We are flying down a few days before and spending 4 nights at the BCV and are hoping to enjoy the first day of F&W prior to our cruise departure.

Jason - Welcome aboard and welcome to the DIS. The person who originally started this thread has since switched cruises, so I took over. Because of that, I periodically post updates. We may end up starting a new thread and closing this one. If I do that, I will post a link here. Meanwhile, here is a link to a form we are using to gather info https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...ck5wWUhwX3c6MQ

i can't get that google document link to work :( i want to add my family's info! it will be our first cruise i'm super excited! i put our info up on here but haven't checked back and lots of pages have been added since...

TaniaU, your link works. I wonder why the other one in post 327 won't? Okay, I know I'm tech challenged :rotfl: but the links look the same to me.

Who knows :)

On another topic...anyone going to try Remy this cruise? It's quite the add-on (I'd get the wine pairings too) and am not sure if it's something I'd like...and I'm pretty sure DH won't be into it. On the other hand, he's surprised me before...and it's comparable in price to a shore excursion.....hmmmm...

No, we don't plan going to Palo or Remy. Not sure if our daughter and son-in-law will. We never felt like we were missing something by not eating in the specialty restaurants on our other cruises (Princess). This is our first cruise on DCL, we just plan on eating dinner in the regular dining rooms.

i got my info entered in thanks!
is there a princess night? i don't see it on the schedule but ive seen people talk about it in other disboard topics and think i read it somewhere else too...

filled in the form for us. will ave to give you room numbers, working on changing rooms. think we will do a verandah and inside across the hall. we were going to do 2 insides, but i really like the verandah. will let you all know. Im still working on tryig to get Michelle back, you all would have loved her.

Calgary huh, my sister in law leaves up there. My wife is actually flying out there over Easter weekend to see her. My 5 year old (then 4) went up last year with my FIL for the Stampeede (sorry if spelled incorrectly). He has a blast.

My wife and I did both on the 4 night Dream cruise we took back in October. IMHO, Remy is far better than Palo and worth every extra penny. Palo disappointed me a little, but that might have been because we ate there after Remy.

Remy offered two menu's, one prepared by the Frech chef and the other by the American. DW had the French, and I had the American, but we wound up tasting each other's food and both were fantastic. It was a 2 hours plus dining experience, but we had an absoulte blast. The ship was rolling in hte waves that night, and the wine / beers at dinner seemed to counter balance the ship's movements. Dress code, states that jackets are mandatoy. I am in a suit for work, so it didn't bother me. Other diners, came in a jacket but as soon as they sat down it came off.

Both are worth trying at least once, imho. But I would probably go back to Remy first.

We were going to try Remy or Palo for lunch this trip if we can get a reservation.

Calgary's a fun place during the Stampede, that's for sure :)

Funny you said that about Palo because, except for tea, I've never wanted to try brunch or dinner there. Not because I've heard bad things...just not something that caught my interest I guess.
