liverwurst... yay, or nay?

:thumbsup2 I love it!!!! DH and I just got into an arguement last week at the deli counter over liverwrust, he hates it :rotfl:

There is a big secret for Brussels sprouts. Never eat them before the frost has gotten over them. And not the frost in your freezer but outside on the fields.

Like grapes the frost will change the whole taste of the sprouts. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I just reread what I said, and it sounds more like "I crave it, I get it, and remember why I don't like it." I like sprouts, and liverwurst, and some other foods, on an occasional basis. They're just not such favorites that they routinely make their way into the shopping cart on a regular basis.

On the other hand. . . a liverwurst sandwich does sound pretty good right now. (Well, not "now now", since it is breakfast, and I am still pretty much in a pre-coffee state, but sometime this weekend "now".)

You all remember to take your cholesterol meds, eh? Why, when we know what we know about organ meats, would anyone eat this? Nay!

It's too rich for a daily diet, but an occasional liverwurst on white bread with a touch of mayo and mustard is delish! I like that you can just buy enough slices to make a sandwich for DH and myself with no "leftovers". :wizard:

Headcheese is the lunchmeat that I can't embrace. :scared1:

We get 16 slices.... 4 people in the house, enough for 2 sandwiches each. And we get it about every 2 months. Gooood Eats! :thumbsup2

I frequently skip the bread and just eat it with Gulden's Spicy Brown mustard.

Want to know whats in it?

Liverwurst is a mixture of grass-fed beef trim (30%), liver (30%), heart (20%) and kidney (20%). This is the tastiest way to incorporate healthy grass-fed beef organs into your diet!

Everything a growing person needs for good health!!!!!:thumbsup2

Like this scares me...... I eat scrapple! :rotfl:

( about once or twice a month )

Big ol' NAY for me on this one.

LOVE IT!

We always had braunschweiger growing up.

Does bring back great memories. My pup pup used to make braunschweiger sandwiches when we went fishing. He used to put butter on the bun as well!

Every once in a while some Boar's Head liverwurst on a Ritz cracker with a dot of mustard is perfect.

No way. When my grandma moved in with dh and I,

she asked me to get her this. I did, but told her she needed to make her own sandwhich. I cant even stand the looks or smell of it.

Used to be a big yes maybe twice a year (rye bread, mustard, cheddar cheese and sometime a little onion). I decided a couple of years ago I was going to narrow my protein choices (no mammals).

I find I can fix a liverwurst/braunschweiger craving with chicken liver pate.

Love it in A sandwich with a thin slice of onion. YUM
