So big suprise here, DH decided to cancel Chefs de France, his reason is the same as always....He just isnt feeling it. How the heck to you feel a restaurant?!
So I said ok smart guy go ahead and make our plans. He said lets do more F&W and he really wanted his shrimp fried rice from China CS. Ok fine with me, there was still alot of stuff we have not tried yet.
First stop was Turkey for Meze and Manti. Meze consisted of marinated tomatoes and cucumbers which DH inhaled and said it was excellent. There were 2 pita wedges and the most amazing eggplant hummus like dip, I licked the little plastic cup!
The manti are beef spiced raviolis with sour cream, there were excellent and lucky for us they give you 2, that way DH and I did not have to fight over it!
At Greece we had the spanakopita and the greek salad. The salad was amazing but the pita chips were too hard for me so DH ate them. The spanakopita is my favorite, just crammed with cheese and spinach.
Poland, I really wanted to try the vodka raspberry cocktail but they were out so we waited about 15 minutes and still zippo, will have to catch that tomorrow. DH loves pierogies so he got that with a bite of kielbasa, he loved it
Chile had an amazing spicy beef empanada, it was delish!
At Puerto Rico we had the best, the creamiest, the smoothest, the most decadent pina colada we have ever had...yes they are expensive 6.50 for this dinky cup but omigod it was amazing.
Ever since I saw the episode on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives with Guy on the FoodNetwork I have wanted to try mofongo. DH and I fell in love with the mofongo tonight. It reminded me of a stuffing but not dry and not heavy. It is mashed plantains with pork cracklings and garlic served with shrimp salsa on the side and mixed together POW! What a taste!
Back over to the Mouse Catch for more cheese for DH, he loved the asiago and manchego.
Over to China for DH's peach oolong ice tea (so good and refreshing) and the shrimp fried rice with a pork egg roll. He said it was very good and the egg roll was amazing.
I had to get another piece of sausage pizza from Italy, it was that good!
Then we wandered into the wine area of Italy and it was there that we stumbled across a fantastic wine, Rosa Regale. I cannot believe that I have not tried this before, it was out of this world! I had one glass that we shared and then promptly ordered another one. They gave us a few pieces of dark chocolate to nibble on between sips...the taste was unlike any other wine I have tried, I cannot wait to go buy a bottle to take home!
We wanted to wander over to Norway for the new school bread but it started to rain so we went back to the BWI to watch the fireworks from the balcony, which just ended by the way. DH wanted a snack for the room so we went to the candy store but not much there at all so I picked up some lollypops for the nieces.
