Well we made it to AKL a few hours ago. For once Bell Services took my luggage! I know I'll be missing my Poly! I'm already looking forward to next April and my next Poly stay. Next time I'll do GV and beg and plead for Fiji marina view.

Yeah, glad you made it and all settled in! How's your room or is it DVC? Good view?

Soooooo ...the Figi Marina view would be acceptable for view fanatics??? are you telling me to switch back to GV and save some $$$???

I'll probably go "live" for AKL too - I like writing while we're there. I took some great Poly pics to share and will sorelyiss that wonderful Poly service ( and the oatmeal too)

Hi Kaffinito! I'd love to hear your live report from the AKL...do you think you could take a pic of all the APril activities that are availalble? Will you post the link here if you do a live post? Thanks...sounds like you're having a great time! Can't wait to hear more!

Kaffantino, thanks for posting and giving us POLY junkies with our latest fix

Pool hoppers, ugggggggggggh If there is this much smoke there is fire. So many people mention this problem at the POLY. It must be a problem! I do no hear of this at other resorts...it is probably its close proximity to the parks.

I do not see spending so much money for club level, they better be serving Prime Rib and lobster for that kind of money

Still can't wait to stay at POLY and can't wait to see your pictures!

Ok gang - here's some food porn for you all. Sorry about the quality of the pics - I was using my iPhone.

Evening offerings:

The offerings were tasty, but a little on the slim side. Quite often they were not replaced when they ran out depending on the time.

Here are some desert shots:

The first night they had brownies, small brownie cupcakes, and some cookies. I asked the attendant if there was anything else (this was at 9:00) and was told no.

Maybe it's because of the room they have at the Poly's lounge, but they didn't have as much to nosh on as they did at BWI's CL.

Not to put any pressure on you, but after reading about your adventures at both the Poly & AKL this year, I'm wondering how you felt about the two in comparison.
Have been hearing grumblings that the Poly CL is slipping a few notches... I truly hope that's not true across the board. Some of your pics and comments about the "slim" food offerings lead me to think otherwise, tho.
I read somewhere else that the CL staff are even cutting off the food up to an hour or more before the scheduled cut-off - pretty much indicating "that's all there is; take it or leave it". I'd certainly understand if they ran out of food due to an unanticipated increased demand on occasion - but I'm getting the sense that that may not be the case. Did you find that to be an accurate representation? Can you offer us your take on the situation?
Seems you really enjoyed AKL.
Care to elaborate?

Thanks for your live report and pictures. I think the Poly CL offerings have definetely been slimmed and trimmed down since we were there 2 years ago.

We are going in 2 weeks and glad we only booked a garden view room.

Was the bounceback flyer in your room at the Poly?

Also - I posted on the Poly FAQ but no one responded, I am interested in resort activities? Not exactly pool games, its only dh and I. Do they have anything more "adult" oriented. Like at StormAlong Bay they have Bingo etc, yoga on the beach?

I hope you also have a wonderful time at AKL.
