Live From the May Repositioning Cruise

WHEW! DH came home from work just as the Magic was disappearing and I was finishing up posting those shots. When he saw that nothing was out for dinner...I really don't know why that was ;)...he first sat down to look at the thread then took us out to dinner. LOL! That was something else!

The Jolly Roger flag was to the right of the DIS banner in one of the shot of the aft that showed Goofy. Mary, hope that you got some of those shots of Mickey. Once I put all of these shots in one album on snapfish, I will post the link here & on the DISmeet thread for this cruise so that those on board can get to them easily & be able to order them. I did try to crop the DIS sign but the image came out WAY too blurry. :(

I just had to add thank goodness that we switched to high speed two weeks ago. This would have been torture on dial up.

What a great day in the Panama Canal today. They tell us for the last 2 days it has rained here and there was suppose to be rain today, but Mickey ordered us a Sunny Magical Day and we got it.

So cool to go through the locks and so many people watching and cheering, think we heard the Magical Horn at least 2 dozen time today.

There were helicopters in the air as we went through each of the locks, talked to Shutters tonight and they will have pictures of the Magic in the Canal tommorrow for sale.

The one they did for Curacao was really cool so expecting great pictures of the canal, they had 2 photgraphers on shore not sure who was in the helicopters, but will be interesting to see the shots.

All the characters were on the decks today as we went through the last Miraflores Lock and the 4 story building next to the locks was completely full of people on all 4 levels.

At dinner tonight they had a special menu with the jumbo pin design on the front and all of us got to keep the menu, really cool.

Will post more later.

Tom and Diana

PS we shot over 400 pictures today!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you to the web cam operators and thank you to those of you who posted the pictures and made the movie I greatly appreciated it. I can't say thanks enough.

It got me super excited for my cruise in September.

Amy, The first time we had Navneet he was an asst server. Our next cruise he was home in India. Then last year we got onboard and saw him and changed our dinner rotation to have him. Costantin, from Romania was his asst and we loved him too. I know he has gone home to get married--but I wondered if Navneet was still there.

I'm so glad I checked the boards this past week in time to find this thread. I've stayed away since we aren't cruising with DCL til June 2006---it seemed too long to stand, but now after this great thread I'm hooked again!!

The people on this board are sooo great!!

Beth

 Hello DCL veterans...

I stumbled upon this thread early on and have kept up with all posts since the Magic set sail. I'm a wanna be...and right now I wanna be on board! :rotfl: I'm a newbie to all things Disney...we are set for only our 2nd trip to WDW in December.

I've never cruised, was never interested, but this past week I've enjoyed seeing a side of not only what a cruise is all about, but a DISNEY cruise! How cool is that!

To all the people who are cruising, thank you for taking time from your vacation to post here so that we at home might experience just a tiny bit of the magic you must be feeling.

To the DISBoard family, I'm really happy I've found these boards, your warmth, humor and compassion have touched me greatly. I hope to cruise one day soon and meet you all.

God Bless and Happy Sailing!

Dinner tonight was fabulous! It was a special Panama Canal Crossing menu and we got to keep the menus--the front was the design of the big jumbo pin. Also tonight in our cabin we received a lithograph by Ducky Williams honoring the first canal crossing.

Our server is German(from Peru), assistant server is Anne Marie(from South Africa), and head server is John (from Scotland). They are all awesome!! Definately the best servers I have had in three cruises! We also have the most wonderful stateroom host, Arthur(but everyone calls him Art).

They also showed Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy in the Walt Disney Theatre.

Has AnneMarie done any of her dinner tricks for you guys? If she hasn't tell her you heard she does "experiments" and wonder if she'd do one. She was one of our servers and she was AWESOME with the kids and very patient with us adults that asked her questions about where she was from, etc.

I would like to be one to welcome all of the new people who haven't cruised or who have come out of lurking. This truly has been fun and exciting. I think it makes it even more fun knowing there are people on this cruise that you have met and know!!!! But even if you don't anyone, it really gets your blood pumping and your excitement at a level that is truly amazing - so WELCOME!!!!! It's fun here!!!!

Thanks to all, for a most enjoyable afternoon.

August repo cruisers. . . next time it's our turn. :cool1:

to everyone that has posted pictures of this historical crossing. And to Jaime for taking such great care of us all through the final lock. I tried, as much as I could at work today, to watch it live. Now I'm so thankful to be able to show it to my children. We don't sail again until November, but I'm SOOO wishing we were there now.

Continued best wishes to all on board the Magic ... just think, on any other cruise you'd all be totally depressed that you have to get off the ship in the morning ... BUT YOU'VE STILL GOT ANOTHER WEEK :cool1:

Lisa,

Thank you for the movie. It was awesome. Today was such an incredible day. Thanks to Jaime for taking the pictures. Hope all of you on the cruise are having a great time.

We'll be seeing you next week!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Everyone on these boards are the best! I started with this thread from day 1 - I can not believe how it has grown. Seeing the pics and movies today on the crossing was just FABULOUS!!! Thanks to everyone who took time out of their day to help us enjoy the MAGIC.

To the MAGIC, Welcome to the West Coast. For all, enjoy the land that started it all, Disneyland. Remember, that is true reason for this magical trip to our shores. Everyday, I look forward to reading this thread, it makes waiting for our July 2, cruise just a little easier.

To all on the Magic, HAVE A GREAT CRUISE!

Jim

Thank you, Lisa F, for the movies of the Magic going throught the Panama Canal.

Seeing Mickey on the ship was great. June 12 our group sails away on the Wonder for a 4 night cruise on the Wonder.

I hope everyone one the repro cruise enjoys Disneyland. I've heard the fireworks are amazing for the 50th celebration!

A big thank you to all that spent their day capturing photos of the Magic sailing through the Panama Canal today. I was able to send my kids a link to see their mom on the ship.

I am always overwhelmed by the caring of our DIS board members.
