Okay, I had to skip to the end to post this because I'm very busy but DH made a movie of going through the miraflores locks. It's a little big, 4.7Mb, but worth the wait for those who missed it (like myself, ack!)

It goes pretty quickly through the closeups of people on the ship, if anyone has a request for a certain still I THINK it is easy to locate based on the time stamp.

Edited to add: The movie will be coming back soon, we just wanted to add credits to the end for all of the work in producing it! I will post when it's back up!

Before I left to pick up the kids, I hit the "last 20 shots" link on the pancanal cam. Now, I have playing 20 close up shots of the Magic, including Captain Mickey waving. But, I can't figure out how to save it. The page is a .html, but looking at the source, the pictures are part of a script. I'm on a mac and don't see a print screen button. Anything I can do? Except leave the page up permanently?

Okay, it's back!! Sorry about that folks, just wanted to add a little bit of credit to the end for making the movie, hehe! It's 4.7Mb and it took me somewhere between 30 seconds and a minute to download it via cablemodem when I tested it out.

It was just quick and dirty but anyone who wants to use it and finesse it a bit (maybe insert some frames that we may have missed or extend the time on some of the closeups or something) is more than welcome to! We need to have dinner since there are no nice Magic CM waiting to feed us here!

Checking in from the Magic

What an incredible journey we had today. I still can't believe I am actually on the ship!!!!

Some of the Disboarders were at the aft of the ship with the banner ... I helped to hold it up but I'm not sure of the exact wording (I know bad) - it was something like "Taking the Magic Kingdom to Kingdom - Disney's First Panama Canal Cruise". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you all so much for capturing all the web cam shots...I had goosebumps looking at them!!!!!!

It certainly was an exciting day watching the Magic go thru the Canal. It makes me even more excited about the August repo return. Thanks to Jamie for giving us such great angles on the camera and for LisaF and Prisoner for providing the movie. 3 months from today, we'll all be on board !!!! Ya hooo, Ship of Fools !!!!! Im curious about all the filming they are doing from the ship or the air, etc. When are they going to show it? Does anyone know a specific time or channel? I don't want to miss it. Also, I remember a thread a while ago about a BIG announcement that is going to be announced during the celebration. Does anyone know when that will take place or what it is?

And I must also point out for myself that although most people on the DIS always go to WDW, I am personally a CA child and have grown up at Disneyland. Now that I am old and live closer to FL, I have never been to WDW. So...for all of you people who have never been to Disneyland, have a great time when you get there. Although it is not as big as WDW it is, Im sure, just as fun. I am so jealous and wish I wasn't going to school or I would be there with you. My family still lives there and I am hoping to talk someone into getting pictures of the Magic for me.

Finally got through all the posts from this afternoon. Only DCL addicts know how moving those photos are to us---thanks to everyone who posted them!!

It must have been amazing to be onboard for that. I remember the Captain saying that the ship was made to just squeeze through the Panama canal when the time came!!

To those on board--who are your servers and stateroom hosts? Does anyone know if Navneet or Zoohaeir are onboard or Pirom?

Oh, Beth, I loved Navneet. We had him a couple of years ago, and he was so good to us. He had my DD, who was 2 at the time, laughing all the time. The first night of the cruise, when he brought out the fruit bowl for her appetizer, she only ate the grapes. So, for the rest of the cruise, he always brought her a bowl of just grapes.
