Live from the Magic

There seem to be lots of posts about liking live reports, so-------here I am at the Internet Cafe. Yesterday was the early St. Thomas immigration check-in, so we called it an early night. Now I'm up and ready to go.

The crew is wonderful--probably the best we've had. Also, I think this is the best performing cast we've ever seen in the night-time productions.

This is our first summer cruise, so it's been interesting to see so many school-age kids on board.

I'll check later to see if anyone has any questions.

WOW, you're up bright and early! What type of excursions are you looking forward to? How are your servers? What dining rotation do you have?

We just got off the Magic on Saturday and it seems so long ago already My daughter keeps complaining about not having enough to eat at dinner time!

Hi, Guys!

The weather has been absolutely perfect. No problems with any hurricane. It did rain early on our St. Thomas morning, but the skies were clear by noon. We did make a detour to take care of a guest who needed medical attention--not sure, but rumor has it that it was appendicitis. We are scheduled to dock an hour late at Castaway Cay, but Captain Tom says that we will stay on Castaway an extra hour.

Ed & I played Bingo this afternoon, and they tell us that the jackpot game broke the record on the Magic--$9,600. It was won by a young man who had just gotten engaged last night. That made losing a lot easier for the huge crowd who were playing.

We have second seating--the LAPLAPL rotation, usual for two adults. We are seated at a table of six with two other couples--one from Virginia and one from New Jersey. Our servers are Romeo and John--and they are wonderful. I did promise Ed that he only had to wear a suit once, so we're dining at Topsiders tonight because it's semi-formal night.

Looking forward to seeing Disney Dreams. We thought the cast of Morty and Hercules were the best we've ever seen, so tonight's show should be superb.

To my friends from last September--Riker is doing just great. I miss the little guy a lot. He's staying with a friend who also has a miniature Schnauzer, so I know he's in good hands. Thanks for thinking of us.

Rae--we'll never have such nice dinner companions as you, Lily and Michael.

MJ, I'll keep an eye out for Q--saw him today at Bingo.

We're in Stateroom 5136--it's a great location and I love the Navigator's Veranda.

Well, I'll check for more questions tomorrow.

Hi, Karen. I'm glad you are having a great trip!! I have a question. My DH, my DS, and myself are booked in a navigator's verandah this December (#7622). I was wondering how you felt about the room? Is it nice and comfortable, how is the temperature on the verandah, stuff like that. Hope the rest of your trip is "Magic"al!!

Last posting from the Magic!

Lisa, the veranda is nice, but it's very hot and humid out there right now. We have some wet clothes out there that will have to go in a suitcase in a couple hours, so I'm hoping the warmth will dry them. The Navigator's veranda has a bench seat, a chair and a table. So, if the temp is okay, it's lovely to sit out there.

Our day at Castaway was cut short with a strong thunderstorm and rain. Didn't mind the rain until a very loud thunderclap and lightning overhead.

It's been a great week, but it went SOOOO fast.

Welcome home! Sry about the weather in CC. I was wondering if you could share which movies are playing, who was the band this week, entertainment staff? We are sailing in 2 weeks and curious about who's on deck!

I haven't unpacked yet, but I decided to check my e-life, so I may forget a few movies: Pirates of the Caribbean--WOW, really great--I saw it twice!!! Finding Nemo, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Holes, Piglet's Big Movie, Bringing Down the House, Chicago. Those are all I can remember right now.

Sorry that Ed & I are such old fogies (how do you spell fogeys?). Anyway, I have to confess that we're early birds--which means we burn out quickly, so I can't report on the nighttime performers. We're cruising with our grown sons in October, so we'll be "encouraged" to stay up later then.

It's back to work for me tomorrow, so it's early to bed again.

The band is Frankie & the West End Boys. They are without a doubt the best one I have seen aboard in three different Disney Magic cruises.

The Hill Brothers juggling act was also aboard (great), Rich Purpura the comedian (OK), as well as Dan Riley (the guitar man) and Michael Harrisson (the ventriloquist).

I thought the evening show highlight was when the woman contestant for "Who Wants to be a Mousketeer" came onstage and boasted to the crowd that she knows "99.9 percent of everything about Disney", and proceeded to promptly blow the 2nd question! The rest of the week, everyone on stage (performers) would work in a comment about being "99.9 percent sure" with a sly grin!

The premiere of POTC was scheduled for 2PM Sunday in the Walt Disney Theater, but the response was SO overwhelming that they ran it again on Monday, and again 2 other times in the Buena VIsta Theater. We saw it 3 times.
