Live from the Contemporary August 2008

My whole family is arriving tomorrow around noon! Our parka's are ready...:headache:

How is the weather now?

Just went to the Adventures Club for the 1st time with two of my friends from Orlando and had a great time and after going there it's a shame that it's closing.

I forgot to mention that when I was speaking to a Cats Member in the Sundries store I was told starting next month they might get a renovation. If that's true I would not worry about them causing to much noise because I am sure they can just board it up and etc, just like when they were building The Wave. That way it would not be a bother to the other guests with noise.

How has the weather been for you?? The news keeps talking about the rain and the flooding!! We're flying in on Sunday and we're hoping for the best and our plane will be flying out.:scared:

You haven't said anything about the rooms, the service, or BLT or parks or anything!! How have they been?

The room is great as always, service is excellent and the Bay Lake Tower is coming along. I have taken various pictures of the construction there and will post them when I get home.

Today we 1st went to the Magic Kingdom. It was a raining bit when we got there so there was no opening ceremony show. After going two straight times on Buzz Lightyear it started raining a lot harder, so we decided to purchase some ponchos. However after a while the rain started to get a little better and got to do a lot of other attractions.

Anyway later on in the afternoon we were going to do some shopping offsite and my Dad's Jeep would not start. So we then call AAA and have them towe it to a Chrysler dealership off 528/John Young Parkway. They found out what the problem was and hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.

So because of that we took a taxi back to Downtown Disney and had dinner at Earl of Sandwich, which as always was very good and then it was time for dessert at Ghiaradelli's. Anyway because we did not want to pay for a taxi again we had no choice to take the bus back to the Contemporary. However we only waited about 15 minutes which was a lot better then I was expecting.

What were the wait times like?

I don't remember the exact times but I think the rain kind of had something to do with the fact that some of the attractions had little wait times. The only attractions that had longer lines were in Fantasayland like Winnie The Pooh, Peter Pan and etc.

Would love to find out the expected date for Mickey's Grab & Go to open, if you find out let us know. We arrive on 10/22. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

I just got a call from my friend who has been there since Wedneday, and has said it has been raining alot. She said they had a few hours today with no rain but have been wearing the ponchos almost the whole time so far. I know you keep on with your plans but how awful to have so much rain during your vacation. I hope and pray they have a few nice days before they come home on Wednesday. Go Away FAY!!!! Hope your having a good trip Crresortfan

I spoke with another Cast Member who said the opening now might be sometime in Janurary, so who knows exactly when it will open since the Cast Members keep giving different answers.

As for Fay I believe the worst is over and it will be back to the usual afternoon rain.

Just came back from Disney's Hollywood Studios and here how things went. Since the park opened at 9:00 AM we got there around 8:45 AM and planned to go on Toy Story Maina right away. We had no problems walking on and just as we were to get on the lights went out, which means the ride broke down. So a few minutes later the Cast Members make an announcement for everyone to leave and we would be given a Fast Pass for Toy Story Maina that could be used anytime for today only. So after that we walked towards Tower Of Terror and only waited about 20 minutes and I think we had about 5 or 6 drops. After that it was onto Star Tours. The stand by line outside said 5 minutes, however it was more a 15-20 minute wait. Later on we had lunch at the ABC Commissary and when we were finished there, we decided to see of Toy Story Mania was working. When we got back there at 11:30 AM all the Fast Passes were gone for the day and the stand by line said 80 minutes. Although I guess that had to do with it breaking down earlier in the morning. Anyway Toy Story Mania was great and it totally lived up to all the hype, so it's now one of my favorite attractions.
