Live from the 2/14/04 Magic! Finally in motion!

It sounds like everyone is having a great time!! Wish I could be there too! I'm looking forward to Saturday so that I can finally get the scoop from my family who are on the cruise. The last I heard from them was on Sunday but I'm sure they're having a great time too. :D Have a great time at CC tomorrow and I'll be hoping for a sunny day for you! :sunny: Thanks again for all the updates--it makes me feel like I'm right there with my family. Hopefully I'll get to go on a cruise this summer but until then, I just have to live vicariously through everyone on the DIS boards! :D

Alyssa,

From what I see at dinner, your parents are having a great time. Your mom asks me every night if I've spoken to you.

We are now sailing into the sun peeking out of the clouds, I hope it clears up for today at CC. It's supposed to be 70 and partly cloudy.

My daughters and I went to the premear of Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen at 12:01. My son went to the dessert buffet. I think he made the better choice. The movie was so bad it was funny.

Please send pixie dust our way for a sunny day.

Lynn

I attended both BINGO sessions yesterday, NO, I didn't win. One lucky woman won the Jackpot, $7,900.

I wish you all lots of sunshine and warm weather today!! Please make sure you have a talk with Mr. Sun and ask him to stay around when I get there in two weeks!:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Again, hoping for wonderful sun and seas for you!

Rae

No to little sun today:sunny: But that is okay, it is much better than freezing Connecticut! We enjoyed a Magical day at Castaway Cay today, despite the clouds, it was warm and beautiful anyway.

Lynn,

I saw the Drama Queen also, it was a waste of time! Now I know not to run out and buy that DVD!

While sitting here at the computer doing my online checkin and printing my boarding passes, the printer jammed up, and a guest service rep had to come to the rescue. A fellow before me had printed (and reprinted) an entire report, so while we were waiting, I brought up the subject of the summer of 2005. She says that honestly, DCL does not tell them a thing, but (with her fingers crossed) she says they are all hoping for a new itinerary. I brought up the California subject and Disneylands 50th, and she got this big smile on her face. So who knows?????

I don't want to leave! I don't want to go home!

Bye for now, back up to watch our sailaway from Castaway Cay,
Robin

Sorry to hear that you didn't have much sun at CC but I'm sure you still had fun anyway. Enjoy your last hours on the ship and I look forward to talking to everyone when the cruise is over. Have fun!

When I read this I thought of a former disboard poster and not a movie! Wake me up from THAT nightmare!!!! PLEASE!

Only once did we have "other than perfect" weather at CC, it was a windy day and although temps were pleasant, the wind made it chilly! Imagine saying that after surviving this winter!!!

Thanks so much Robin for everything you did for us and all the information you posted. We truly enjoyed your vacation through your writings!!!

Rae ---- I have a feeling that after this winter we've been having, a sand blizzard on CC will still feel like a perfect tropical paradise!!! :sunny:

Amen to that, Melody!!!

Rae,

I think I know what "Drama Queen" you are referring to! Funny:teeth:

It is freezing here in Connecticut today, I want to go back!

That's the BAD Rae talking....I'm the good one!
It's 45 here today - we were at the stables, horses VERY frisky and just kicking, playing and running everywhere! What a glorious sight!

Keep in touch, Robin - and don't get wind burned!

DMomof3 & moocow35... How has the weather been in general during this trip for you? I saw a post from DMomof3 earlier saying that it was to be 95-98 that day?? And, then the mention of 70 at CC.

I would love more info, as we are thinking about booking the same week for '05, but are worried about the weather. We went on our 1st 4night cruise 11/30/04 and it was very chilly! My dh is worried about it being too cool, yet he hates the sun, too! However, I do agree, I don't like sitting in the ocean at CC and shaking... :worried:

disneyfan551

This was my first cruise. Acording to moocow35, who has cruised this week for 5 times, this is the first time the weather was less than desirable.

Every night they gave us a little card with the next days weather, we were expecting 95 one day(have to find the cards to see which day), but it ended up being much cooler.

I think overall it was in the low 70's with our day at Grand Cayman being in the 80's? It was cloudy most of the trip, which accounted for the cooler weather. We arrived in Key West after a downpour but the rain did stop while we were there. Cozumel was very windy. The few moments of sunshine on CC brought a round of applause and cheering from the beach crowd. We left CC early and were the only ones in the pool and jacuzi :D.

The cooler weather however did not stop me from rebooking the same week. I am hoping for better luck next year. Anything is better than New England in February.

Thanks so much for the response! I'm really torn between a Feb. 14 and Sept 16 sailing because... My dh surprised me with a vow renewal on Feb. 14th this year, and I think it would be great to be on DCL during our new "1st anniversary"! ;) And, our 'real' 10th anniversary will be in Sept. '05, so we could do either way. I'm really worried about the weather during either month. My overall preference would be Feb. because both of our birthdays are also in that month.

Sorry for the long story, but we want to enjoy the cruise, without it being too hot or too cold. You just never know with Mother Nature...
