Live from the 2/14/04 Magic! Finally in motion!

Your parents are seated right next to us at dinner, your mom was so surprised when I told her I received a message from you. She said to tell you they are having a wonderful time!

Lynn

Today we are off to Stingray City with Captain Marvins. I hope the weather is better than yesterday, it was overcast all day.

Lunch at Palo with Robin was great, our waiter Marco was a cutie from Italy.

I'm glad everyone is having a great time on the cruise. So strange that I would meet you on the boards and that you'd be sitting next to my parents!!!

VerandahMan, what is the link to the Grand Cayman camera?

Andy,

Another great picture, thanks again!

Rae,

I was very impressed with Nicki and her horses. She is indeed a genuinely nice person. It is very hot and humid here today. The ride on the beach with the ocean breeze was lovely. What a beautiful area! The three of us went with only two other people, and would you believe they are from Connecticut? We picked them up at the Marriott. One of my servers did not know anything about horseback riding in Grand Cayman. I promised to bring him all the information tonight at dinner...........but for a price. Information!!! LOL He did the Disney excursion in Cozumel, and said that the poor horses were in terrible shape. I guess back in his country, his family has horses. I will poke, prod, and beg for any information that he might have heard, in exchange for the information on Nicki. (blackmail anyone?:teeth: )

Tonight is the Castaway Club reception, so I must go shower as to not smell like horses when I meet and throw out my questions to the crew.

Till later!

Robin - do you know who clued me in on Nicki?
The last, great Buckaroo's Dad - he supplied a fabulous first DCL cruise report that had me laughing so hard, I was crying! His glowing report on Nicki and her horses just fed into my dream of riding on a beach! So glad you enjoyed it! I wish others would try it, it's the opportunity of a lifetime!

So glad you are "blackmailing" for information - girl, you have a guest of honor place for our 2005 cruise!!!!

Hi from the Magic!

Yes, I am having too much fun. It is a beautiful day at sea today. The sun is shining, it is in the 70's with a slight breeze. We are all hoping for sun tomorrow at Castaway Cay.

The Jeep tour was the most fun I have had in a very long time! I laughed so hard, I thought I would never make it back to the "Pee Pee Station" in enough time! Aparently it had rained the day before, and there were rather large areas of water all along the jungle path. We had an absolute blast flooring it, and going throught the water so fast that muddy water was flying everywhere! One guy ran his jeep into a tree (no one was hurt) but when 2 of the jeeps stalled out and could not get started again, the tour guides stopped us all and told us to go slowly through the water. It was a blast! We got the zebra striped jeep and when we were done, it was covered with mud.

The weather was so windy, that most all of the excursions in Cozumel were canceled. All the ones to the mainland, the submarines, the catamarans, and guest services was going crazy with people trying to find something else to do. Boy was I glad that we pre-booked the Jeep Tour! I felt bad for alot of people that had nothing to do but shop.

Unfortunately, no one is speaking about the summer of 2005. They must have told everyone to play dumb, as everyone basically has the same response. "They don't know", or "it has not be decided yet" I even asked at the Captain question and answer and got the same thing. "they are looking into new things" "did you know about the new ports this September and the 10 day Christmas?" No one will speak about the summer of 2005. He did agree to all the speculations, but again said "there has been no decision made at this time." I did fill out one of those future cruise quote cards, and put a note on the back that our 5 previous cruises, we were able to book 1 1/2 years in advance, and this would be the time to book the summer of 2005. If I can not have the 10% off and $200 credit extended to the moved reservation, then it would not benefit me at all to book on board??? .......................Well,...........I got a phone message from Donna, and she again said that they still are planning, nothing is definate, and she could not say either way if I booked a cruise now for any available date, and when the summer of 2005 opens, I could transfer the reservation, but she could not promise that the 10% off or the $200 stateroom credit would apply to that time frame. She apologized, but she said "they just have not made that decision yet" (about the discount) She did this time however (and I listened to the message over and over again to make sure I heard her correct) that the summer 2005 bookings most likely won't open until summer of 2004, so that would mean I still would be booking 1 year in advance!!!!!! Sorry guys, I hope the announcement won't be delayed till summer, but that is definately what Donna said on her message to me.

Now I am getting aggravated! Most likely I will not book onboard, why let them hold my deposit that long and I can't get the 10% off and the $200 credit moved? My ex's best friends wife's family owns a travel agency, when I get home, I will have him get to work for me.

Yamahaboy,

My daughter and all her friends on this cruise have been on 4 previous cruises. They all loved the common grounds, and the comfy sofas and the "homey" feeling there was. I have asked all of them, and none of them like the stack. There is no where to sit and be comfortable. The chairs are "small" "hard" and "plastic, the floor is metal, and the only sofas they have are also plastic and you stick to them. Needless to say they have not spent too much time there. (I have found them all in my stateroom or on my veranda instead) LOL Perhaps if this was all of their first cruise, it would be different, but they don't even stay for the parties at night. Sorry.

Rae,

The blackmailing did not work. I seriously think that the management has drilled the answer into everyone that "it has not been decided yet". I will continue to work on it though. I did share Nicki's information with him anyways. I miss buckaroo's dad's posts, too bad he is gone. I will give Nicki a glowing report when I finally do my trip report.

Off to the sun, and later today the Galley tour.

Till later
:wave2:

So glad I booked Dolphin Discovery directly. Thanks to the boards and the research I did before the cruise. It was an experience of a lifetime!

It was also Buckaroo's Dad who wrote a great report about the Jeep safari - and it's amazing that the ones who complained about him are long gone or infrequent posters - and those of us who did enjoy his writing and liked him are regular posters and we all miss him!!!! But so goes the way of the world -

Sorry to hear that they aren't forthcoming about the 2005 plans, my surmise is that they are getting all the "BIG WIGS" to make their decisions, then let us "peons" have the leftovers! Ohhh, now isn't that a controversial statement!!!! If the shoe fits.....

Again, hoping that today at sea was wonderful for you and that tomorrow at CC will be the best day of all!

Don't eat too much lobster tonight at dinner!!!!!!

Just for the record, I found him a little ascerbic at times, but I have a thick skin. You have to work real hard to chase me away :)

moocow35, im really sorry to hear that the stack is not a fun place to be. maby tell make it better by the time i cruise lol. no likely but who knows. hope your daughters having fun.

Thx again for sharing! I hope you have a great time tomorrow at CC...boy does time fly when you're having fun or what?

Yamahaboy,

She is having a great time. I didn't mean to discourage you from going to the stack. You have to understand that my DD has been on 4 previous cruises, as well as all the teens that she is hanging with. They really liked the relaxed feeling of the common grounds. I'm sure that the stack is fun, everyone is different in what they enjoy or do not enjoy. Apparently when they designed the stack, they did not bother to get feedback from the counselors who would have said something about the seating. If you are someone who likes to dance (DD is not) then you will most likely like the stack.

Rae,

I stuffed myself with lobster tonight, and shrimp (again) both for lunch and dinner! Buckaroo's Dad always made me laugh. Thanks for the well wishes.

Disney Dreams once again brought tears to my eyes. Yes this week went extremely fast, and the worst part is I won't be able to reset my countdown timers when I get home, at least for a while. Let's hope the big announce comes soon!
