LIVE from DLP!!!

Hi Laura

Yup, very excited now. :jumping2::hyper::jumping1:

We are staying at the Sequoia, and there are 5 of us, myself, the ol ball and chain, and our 3 children. They (kids) do not know, and we are giving them the tickets on Xmas day.

We have managed to keep this a secret since August, (somehow!!!):cool2:

I am expecting the first afternoon to be a mixture of Tears, Laughter and open mouthed awe!!! :)

Apart from that, not much, just to have a great time, and spend more than is necessary on food!!!! :rotfl2:

I think nothing can beat that first moment when you walk into the park and see the Castle in the distance. I must have looked at 1oos of holiday brochures before finally plucking up the courage to book and go so I thought I knew what everything looked like before I went but.... :confused3 Nothing can prepare you.

Make a real point of seeing the parades and buying yourself the music too - it'll drive you daft if you don't. That parade music gets right in your head. I don't think there's much that compares with the stunned look on a youngster's face when the parade is going by. I went by myself, no kids but had 'almost' as much fun watching other people's youngsters getting over-excited.

Sounds fantastic !

What is the weather like at the moment.
Hat, gloves, scarves, thermal underwear needed ????????

Sounds beautiful. I hope you are having a great time :-)))).

How great to get a "live" report Jody - hope you're both having a great time and look forward to hearing more

Nine years have passed since I started this thread, from Disneyland Paris with Liav who was just recovered from having half of her faced crushed and then reconstructed. The people on this board, especially the ones on this thread, were so helpful and supportive and participating in the DIS was such fun... where did the time go???? Liav is now 23 years old and is a fitness instructor! We still LOVE Disney, but the Mom and Daughter trips haven't been happening yearly since she's grown, and had to serve in the Israeli Army... etc etc.. life!!! :) I am going to Disney World in Florida with a SO in a couple of weeks and decided to check out the DIS... and thought of looking up some of my old trip reports...and well... I'm really crying now! I would love to know if any of you are still around, and how you are... I'm not even sure if a thread this old can be "replied" to, but here goes... I'm sending. xoxoxoxo to you all!

Hi Jody, Im more of a newbie - I only discovered DLP in 2010 and its our favourite place in the world now!
It sounds like you had a fantastic trip and its is wonderful that you have these lovely memories to look back on.
Congrats on your WDW booking :yay:

jody i think its lovely that you returned to look back on your old DLP trip report from 9 years ago - welcome back, and I hope you enjoy planning your next Disney adventure :goodvibes.

Hello Jody :wave2: Looking at this thread was a real blast from the past - seeing the names of people who used to post here again was really nice!! :goodvibes

I hardly post on the DIS at all these days, but usually read some threads every day. I wonder if any of the others do?

I'm still here! And so is Reid (Cyrano) ..... he looks after the TPAS board these days.

Not as active as I'd like to be (drat real life always getting in the way) but I try to escape to the DIS whenever I get the chance.

It's lovely that you've been reliving your trips Jody, where has the time gone? So nice to hear how Liav is doing. My DDs are all grown up now - the eldest has graduated from uni and is now working full-time, middle one has just qualified as a canine hydrotherapist, and youngest is doing the rounds of universities ready for next autumn. It's scary!!

Hope you have a fantastic holiday and here's to many many more happy Disney trips! :goodvibes

Elaine and Becky (and Reid if you are reading!) how wonderful to "see" you. Thanks for responding - sending tons of pixie dust to you from me and Liav! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:
